Good location , expensive for what’s on offer . But all in all a good stay

Location is fantastic ( but be prepared to hear church bells chime and some noise from the square below. We were luckily higher up so the noise didn’t impact us . Great black out curtains so it’s possible to have a good nights sleep Comfortable bed

No fridge in room. Staff ( some) in restaurant . Be prepared , even if you’re a hotel guest requiring a *quick* cup of coffee you’re not welcome ( and made to feel distinctly unwelcome) unless you’ve pre-booked for a *full meal* First time this has ever happened in any hotel around the world . Especially annoying when there are no tea/coffee / fridge facilities in the room . Rooms were very warm , even in October

Hotel Vauban - nein danke!

Die Frau an der Rezeption war sehr nett und hat uns bei einer Doppelbuchung sehr geholfen. Auch der Kellner beim Frühstück war sehr freundlich.

Es ist ein altes Haus, das erst ab dem 1. Stock einen Lift hatte. Leider war auf dem Platz vor dem Hotel ein Openair Cinema aufgebaut. Es war extrem laut bis um 23h. Dann kamen immer wieder Flugzeuge und am Morgen die Putzmaschinen auf dem Platz. Es hatte kein Duvet nur ein Leintuch im Bett. Und das Bett hüpfte bei jeder Bewegung meines Partners. Ich habe selten so schlecht geschlafen! Das seltsamste war das Frühstück. Man konnte nichts wählen. Man bekam einfach ein Tablett mit ein paar Sachen darauf. So etwas habe ich noch nie erlebt. Dieses Hotel ist leider nicht zu empfehlen!

Bessere Schein als sein, ist sein Geld nicht wert.

Die Gute Lage

1. Das Hotel ist absolut nicht Behindertengerecht. Keine Anfahrt mit dem Auto möglich, der Aufzug beginnt erst nach 13. Stufen zwischen Erdgeschoss und 1. Etage. Das Frühstück ist eine Katstrophe, an zwei Tagen das gleiche, 1, Stück Baguette, 4. Scheiben Salmi, jeweils: 1. Stück abgepackter Käse, Marmelade, Butter, mini Schoko-Croissant, undefinierbarer Saft sowie ein Joghurt. Serviert wie im Gefängnis auf einen kleinen Tablet. Tische sind ganz eng aneinander gestellt und der Rum ist überfüllt. Nach Aussage der Mitarbeiterin ist das immer so, es wäre zu eng für ein Buffet. Für die Auswahl sollten wir den Chef ansprechen, das wissen Sie, haben aber keinen Einfluss. Die Zimmer waren sauber, aber Löcher in den Handtüchern, Schimmel in der Dusche, Fenster zum Hinterhof (laute Klimaanlagen) der Toilettensitz ( war nur aufgelegt und aus der Halterung) und der Föhn waren defekt. Wir haben dieses sofort Freitag um 12.00 Uhr gemeldet. Bis Sonntag wurde nichts gemacht. Darauf hin haben wir den Chef angesprochen, dieser wurde frech und meinte er bekomme keine Handwerker, hat sich den Schaden angeschaut und meinte in einem lauten und schnippigen Ton: Es gib schlimmeres, er hat kein anders Zimmer frei, so ist es nun mal so. Der WC Sitz, war auch in anderen Zimmer defekt (104 u. 103). Das Hotel ist den Preis auf keinen fall Wert.

Heel fijne maar enigszins gedateerde locatie in het centrum

Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en de locatie is top voor een verkenning van Luxemburgstad. Ook het ontbijt is goed geregeld. Er is een grote parkeergarage (betaalde variant) vlakbij het hotel.

De ruimtes zijn overal klein en gedateerd. De lift is ook gedateerd.

Fab hotel, will definitely be back.

Central location minutes from all the hustle and bustle but yet a little oasis. The breakfast is divine, dinner menu is phenomenal. Staff are so helpful but I have to single out Paulo who works in both the reception and the restaurant, he was so helpful.

It would be great to have a safety deposit box in the room.

La posizione è perfetta, in centro e con la vista della camera sulla piazza che durante il periodo di Natale è meravigliosa! Il signore della reception molto gentile e disponibile anche a darci consigli vari. Colazione non è a buffet ma viene servito direttamente al tavolo un vassoio con: pane caldo, affettato, formaggino, burro, marmellata, cornetto e succo di mela + a scelta una bevanda calda (caffè o cappuccino), pasto molto equilibrato e buono. La stanza e il bagno erano molto puliti e dotati di ogni comfort.

Excellent location, staff and facilities.

The location was fantastic right bin the centre of the city near the main sights. Breakfast was substantial and of a high quality. There were two restaurants that belonged to the hotel both excellent and the room was spacious

Delightful family space

Our family room turned out to be a small apartment with living space (including the sofa bed), kitchenette and a main bedroom plus bathroom. Everything was very clean, and the location was very central. (The square gets going around 6am so not the best location for those wanting to sleep in late if you need the window open!)

Nice hotel at the center with friendly staff

Friendly and helpful staff. Big and comfortable room. Fast wifi. Location is perfect. Not noisy at all despite being at the very center (good windows, apparently).

Breakfast was ok but can't understand why they don't offer it as buffet (apparently because of covid but that excuse doesn't work anymore). You have to go up some stairs to get to the elevator, which is not good for people carrying big suitcases or with reduced mobility. A bit pricey but it's the cheapest one I found in Luxembourg and after all value for money wasn't that bad!

I would stay again were I to visit the area but would check out the mattress first.

Friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was good and I used their restaurant in the evening where I had an excellent meal.

Great spot for visiting Luxembourg City!

The location was great, so close to all the things you want to visit in Luxembourg. The room was cozy and had everything you need. The breakfast was consistently good, coffee was awesome and the staff was always friendly to every request.

There was a construction site on the plaza right in front of the hotel; however, the work was always done during acceptable hours and we understand there's not much for the hotel to do about it. This was May 2023, hopefully it'd be done soon

Great value for money stay in a comfortable hotel with friendly staff in an excellent location.

The room was clean and comfortable and the location was fantastic, right in the heart of the old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The lift was only accessible on the half-landings, so it was still necessary to use stairs. Not a problem for us but may be for others. The shower in our room leaked slightly. Breakfast was exactly the same each day - it was nice but some variety would have been good.

I highly recommend the apartments of the Hotel Vauban, which are spacious and well equipped.

Great location, right in the centre. I stayed in one of the apartments. It was fantastic with all mod cons (fridge, oven, hob, tv etc.), even underfloor heating in the bathroom. The wifi was great. Nice view of the Hotel de Ville.

It was all great. Just one small criticism was that the breakfast was the same every day. It was a very good breakfast but it would have been nice to have some choice.

Amazing location and staff, but felt like a 2 star hotel

The location was incredible and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel itself was a pretty dated, the bed was uncomfortable, and the shower was tiny. The walls/doors were thin so we could hear everything happening in the hallway.
