A Tranquil Retreat Close to Nature

Our two-night stay at this hotel was absolutely delightful! Nestled amidst nature yet conveniently close to the city center, it offered the best of both worlds - a peaceful retreat just a 30-minute drive from the CBD. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. Priscila, Winnie, and Kathe were incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. Plus, their adorable dachshunds, Papi and Gabi, added an extra dose of charm to our experience! The location is perfect for nature lovers, with easy access to Beau Constantia and scenic hiking trails. And let's talk about breakfast - it was a delicious spread that left us energized for our adventures. Convenience is key, and this hotel nailed it with its proximity to the hoho bus stop, making sightseeing a breeze for tourists like us. To top it all off, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary sparkling wine and chocolate, making our post-wedding trip even more special. Special thanks, Kathe! Overall, our stay was nothing short of amazing, thanks to the wonderful staff, serene surroundings, and thoughtful touches that made our experience truly unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

It was very comfortable , spacious and enough private space and amazing views and walks .

We were two families staying at the lodge - with some hungry athletes - we all loved the breakfast and the portions were huge and the variety and the setting was amazing . Really one of the best breakfasts we've had in a long time .

This is not lodge issue but the Uber and public transport was very poor - we had to ask a restaurant owner to take us home one night as the UBDER will keep on cancelling the trips .The transport was generally an issue .

Lovely welcome and a very comfortable and clean bedroom and bathroom. Beautiful views from the terrace and handy for the Kirstenbosch Gardens. Cooling small pool.

All the animal heads and skins. Breakfast was initially offered in full sun and was underwhelming. Lots of traffic noise and difficult to get in and out on a busy road.

Ikhaya Safari Lodge - Simply Awesome!!

Staff was AWESOME!! Very good service, kind and attentive. Property manager was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about surrounding area and attractions.

Wi-Fi was less than spectacular during our stay, but they are working to correct this issue.

Amazing

The manager, Käthe, was extremely accommadative, welcoming and kind. She made the stay much more pleasant. The scenery and grounds were tranquil and exceptionally breath-taking. The staff were respectful and friendly. The culmination of all of the above made our stay worthwhile.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable.

We love staying at Ikhaya Safari Lodge at this beautiful amazing place.

Ikhaya Safari Lodge was amazing.The staff and the manager were wonderful. The really took good care of us and they always had a smile on their face. The breakfast was outstanding!!! The scenery was so lovely and breathtaking. We will definitely come back and stay at this lodge.

There is nothing, that we didn’t like about this property.

Fantastic

An absolutely fab experience from start to finish, in our first stay in SA on our honeymoon trip. I can not fault anything. The breakfast was excellent, staff takes care of every minor detail and conscious about the guests comfort. The room and lodge are 5 stars. We didn’t understand how much of a spoil it is going to be, ESPECIALLY after getting the kindest assistance from Kathe (host) with refining a neat itinerary for us. Thanks for an unforgettable stay, we will definitely come back!

Amazing!

The property is well located close to restaurants and wineries.

It has a beautifully spacious lounge area where guests can relax after a long day of travel but unfortunately on a freezing evening they didn't have the fireplace going and thus we had to retire to our room instead.

Beautiful scenery from deck

Extremely unstable wifi and no attempt to remedy it when we asked - dismissed with 'someone checked it yesterday'. Perfunctory check-in and check-out. Very disappointing stay after having read so many positive reviews.

Book it as long as you don't reserve the Springbok room!

The location was perfect, close to many of the best Constantia restaurants/vineyards. Incredible views from the property and a well-maintained tennis court. Very kind staff, nice pool.

It pains me to write this because the hotel is beautiful and the staff is very kind, but I would not book the Springbok room. I don't think this would be a problem in the other rooms, though: In the Springbok room (because of the location within the lodge and carpeted flooring), there were many bugs (silverfish) in the bed. Additionally, there is no A/C as advertised so we slept with the windows open, which let in an inordinate amount of mosquitos. I could not sleep through the night because I got bitten so many times. Having tried to go to sleep around 23:00, I woke up at 3:30 with over 35 welts all over my body from the mosquito bites. No netting around the bed unfortunately. Also, breakfast was not included.
