comfortable, quiet and convenient; close to buses, ferry and cable car

location and access to location was key. We were given access to our room early when we just thought we would drop our bags, which was a bonus for us.

Dreadful dark dingy smelly hotel

Absolutely nothing at all.

Dark dingy room. Tiny. Smelt very bad. Arrived at 6pm. Went to reception to ask for another room. They closed even though their website said open until 7.30. Couldn't stay in that room so we left and booked somewhere else. We lost the full payment and the car park payment even though clearly we didn't use the carpark. The carpets were badly fitted. When we arrived we were greeted by some fowl mouthed kids outside who nearly drove their scooters into our car. We felt if we left the car it would probably be missing the wheels next morning. This is the bad review I have ever written as normally if there was a problem I would talk to the hotel. I did talk to the hotel to be told no refund. Not even a partial one as I had booked for 2 nights. At least they could have refunded the parking.

Amazing price for space!

Amazing location & such a big room. Great to having washing machine and air dryer in the room too.

Only how to get to Lambton Quay but easy enough through the James Cook lift

Location was fantastic! Easy to drive to and reserved on-site parking . Great access to highway Easy walking distance to most sites. The rooms are very well designed and even have in suite laundry. So close to the harbour front but in a quiet area

Friendly staff, comfortable room, close to central city. Note that car park is charged extra for.

Only 1 armchair, view of carparks, slightly dodgy walk through old carpark to Lambton Quay (glad I wasn't on my own) We were disappointed to find there was a charge for a carpark which wasn't mentioned anywhere in the info before booking, just came through with check in info and confirmation. All it said was parking available which is what we were looking for. The cost should be clearly stated before booking is complete.

It was close to the ferry, and town. The receptionist tried to assist where she could.

You have to pay for parking, there was hair stuck on the shower doors, the general cleanliness wasn't too great

Average room, OK for short people

Location was great, 1 elevator in a parking garage away from a main shopping street. The bed is comfy. There is a kitchenette, including a washer/dryer combo.

The shower head height is not adjustable and bolted so low that the nozzle is on my shoulder (I am 183cm). Showering thus includes a pogo dance to wash your hair. The shower cubicle is also very small, so bumping into the sides or turning off the flow with your bum are a given.

overall maybe a tad overpriced, pipes were a little loud when using hot water. would’ve liked a vending machine as it was Easter weekend- otherwise walking distance to supermarkets and shops

The Gilmer was perfect location wise. The facilities were ok. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Location was fab. So handy Staff were friendly and helpful

Room wasn’t particularly clean. We had a power outage which was annoying but was fixed by the time we got back from sightseeing.

Nice appartment but loud from environment

Good location to reach cable car or walk to waterfront or Cuba street. Apparment well equipped.

View into a parking house, loud all night fom ventilators in neighborhood houses and in the morning from waste collector or starting cars.

The 2 single beds had old sunken in mattresses. such an unexpected contrast to the quality of the rest.
