peaceful stay in the mountains

loved everything about my stay! the location is so peaceful, the room and facilities are comfy and clean. the food is so yummy and the host is so nice and caring. would definitely recommend it!

As a place to stay, excellent; for their advertised Shinto experiences, very disappointing.

They provided outstanding vegan breakfasts, despite this being their first time at such food. The view from the quite large room was spectacular and the staff were friendly and always helpful. And the location is very convenient for access to to both the main shrine and the walking tracks.

Their website advertises the option to participate in waterfall misogi and Shinto morning prayers, but neither of these were available. The waterfall meditation has not been available for three years they told me, even though it is still offered on their website.

Very delicious dinner, ingredients are good quality, fresh. I love the view from my balcony. Beautiful traditional Japanese building. The host is really helpful and friendly.

Komadori Sanso is a perfect place to experience home-style Japanese hospitality.

We loved the kind hostess and her wonderful cooking, the stunning view, the excellent location near sights and shops, the very comfortable traditional-style beds and the big cedar bathtub in the public bathroom.

We were there in autumn with wet weather. There isn't a lot to do on Mt. Mitake in the rain and the village's steep streets become much harder to negotiate on foot.

Magical place to calm and relax from the metropolis Tokyo :)

The location and accommodation is magical. The owner and staff are very kind and natural and easy to talk to. I recommend to book the additional dinner which is prepared with a lots of love and variety. The rooms are traditional and very comfortable. There is no private WC and bath but there are more than enough WCs on the corridor and the wooden bath tubs and shower places are generous and extremly relaxing. Akemi-san thank you so much for your hospitality. I had such a great time I will never forget!

good short stay

Great ryokan with a lot of history. We stayed 1 night in a traditional Japanese room and was able to use the bath privately. shared bathroom facilities were very clean. The dinner and breakfast was good (need to reserve, I messaged them via booking.com) and hosts were lovely! the only comment was that the bed doona was too hot and then the room was too cold to not have it covered but otherwise a nice short stay.

Great value for money. Excellent bath. Breakfast and dinner were great. Fantastic location. Owners / staff are extremely polite, friendly and they speak English.

The receptionist was great. she took very good care of us. she cooked for us as well as giving us food to go when we checked out.

It was a little tricky to find in the dark because it was on top of a mountain.

Great place to relax in nature! Delicious dinner & breakfast

Nice family run traditional Japanese hotel on the mountain of Mitakesan! I highly recommend for anybody who wants to do a long hike on the mountain or just to relax and get away from the city.

It was very cool, I really enjoyed it

The hosts were very nice, the room has an awesome view, the dinner and breakfast were awesome as well. This is quite convenient for hiking.

It was cold outside of bedroom or dinner room but it's kind of normal I would say for a place like this and during this season.
