What an amazing week! The house and property exceeded our expectations. Every day we saw monkeys, sloths and beautiful birds right from our backyard all while relaxing in the pool with an incredible view. Maria made everything so easy from booking our excursions, to cooking meals and even helping us get a taxi. I wouldn't hesitate to book this house again. Pura Vida!

This country, this house, this vacation-it was everything we had hoped for. I cannot stress enough how lovely it was from the early phases of nailing out a home to support our group of 12 to the very last steps onto the airplane. This listing does not do the home or the staff justice. Fernando, Maria, John and the entire crew are so entirely pleasant and eager to assist in every way. Maria helped plan each of our 5 excursions, booked all transportation to and from these excursions and airports, filled the home with groceries of our choice, helped order delivery food service, provided her expert chef and bar services, and assisted us in every step of the way. The home was magnificent. The views and the rooms are better than the pictures depict. It is spacious, inviting and homey. Our group of 12 unanimously agreed that this was the best trip we’ve had and we are a well-travelled crew! Just book it!

The Bella Vista experience exceeded ALL of our expectations. We brought our two daughters families, six adults and six children-ages 8-14. All loved the home, the setting, the concierge/chef services, and access to fun excursions.
The home: not sure you can find a better home. The view of the ocean framed by the natural jungle was breathtaking. The pool was a huge hit. I measured it almost 25 yards long. It was an idyllic play place!
The home is spacious. The pool area is large to relax, with a nice natural canopy. The patio outside the kitchen was expansive with the best views of the ocean. The bedrooms were all big, with plenty of elbow space.
The setting was gorgeous. Bella Vista is nestled amongst the jungle. You feel that you’re in the middle of nature. Monkeys abound. They’re so fun to watch. The property has beautiful fauna. It would have been a bonus if it was easier to get to the beaches. Though access to the beach is only at most a half mile away, we felt the walk along the narrow, winding roads with limited sidewalks were not safe.
The concierge, Maria, and her right hand assistant, Kiera, were spectacular. I highly recommend their meals, so good and tasty. They were maestros with their ingredients. More than that was their kindness and generosity. They made our stay very special. Maria was great with planning ahead of time, and an outstanding communicator. A nicer set of people cannot be found! Highly recommend. Six stars!

This is the perfect property for multiple families. We celebrated my mom’s 70th with 7 adults/ 5 kids and the property was very comfortable and spacious. Pool setup is ideal with incredible views and lots of wildlife. Maria and Kiara provided incredible chef services - our favorite meals of the trip!

We just spent a week at Villa Bella Vista with Maria and it was amazing. Pictures don't do the beauty of the home and grounds any justice. Just beautiful. Views from patio, some of the bedrooms and the pool were incredible. The pool is really large and accommodated ourgroup of 12 with ease. Wildlife is active all around the house and pool. Great location to the beach and dining or shopping.
Maria and Fernando were wonderful. So informative and helpful. One of our group had their flight change and she drove all the way to San Jose to pick them up at 9pm and bring them all the way to Manuel Antonio. The meals we had them do for us were all perfect and extremely reasonably priced. She even helped us guys get our significant others flowers and Valentine's Day treats for them.
Do not hesitate to book this home for your Costa Rican trip. Do note that the 5th and 6th bedrooms are different than the rest. 5th is smaller and shares a bathroom with the 6th bedroom but is fine overall. The 6th bedroom is more of a kids bunk type room. Plenty of space but no door to block it from the rest of the lower living space.

Maria the house manager and her team make this already incredible home an absolute dream vacation! Everything is just wow....the view, location, pool all are incredible. Highly recommend staying here! Can't wait to come back!

This is an absolutely stunning property that comfortably fit 5 adults and 5 teens! The pool area and covered veranda do not disappoint! Maria was AMAZING and made us some of the best food we had in Costa Rica!

There is something to be said about a beautiful home that comes with a knowledgable concierge. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed. Maria (property manager and concierge) really made the vacation easy. She answered every question, setup excursions and even performed chef services. We can't wait to go back!

We were three generation family of 12 and we felt everything about this home and its agents were absolutely perfect. House is beautiful and very functional, comfort table and the setting is perfection. Extremely well thought out architectural plan - great views from virtually everywhere. The pool was heavenly. Close to everything restaurants, stores, national park etc. Maria Zúñiga was a very competent and caring concierge. We arranged to have her cater two dinners for our large group. She is a great chef, enjoyable to spend time with and extremely helpful and confident. Be sure to go on a whitewater raft trip and the waterfall tour. We travel as a family all over the world and are not easily given to superlatives BUT this was one our best trips ever. Sincerely - do not hesitate to book this home.

My family had an amazing week celebrating our Nana’s 80th Birthday at Bella Vista. We had 9 people and space to come together, yet if you needed privacy the house has space for that also. The pictures do not do the views and house justice, absolutely magical. We spent many afternoons enjoying the spectacular views from the pool. Maria and her team were amazing! We had Maria and Kiara prepare 5 meals for us and we all agreed they were the best meals we had in Manuel Antonio. The monkeys came everyday to give us entertainment and make us laugh as they swung from the trees. If we had questions or needs, Maria quickly solved them! We hope to come back soon!

Our family vacation could not have been better due, in large part, to Maria, Fernando and their staff. The food was incredible and the drinks were refreshing and perfectly made. We had to keep pinching ourselves that we were really there. Maria also arranged our drivers to and from the airport and the excursions. That really made it easy for us. You will love this villa and the view of the Pacific! ❤️

OMG I wanted to never leave! I have travel extensively all over the world and this stay was my all time favorite. The pool is amazing as is the house. Fernando was very prompt and responsive an absolute honey. Now let’s talk about Maria. AMAZING WOMAN!!!!!!!! I can not describe the level of service she provided. All excursions scheduled, meals were 5 star! What ever she is paid it needs to be doubled! Can’t wait to go back.

Our group stayed at Villa Bella Vista in Feb and we honestly can't stop talking about it. Everything about it was absolutely amazing. The house is breathtaking (and private), the view from the pool is even more amazing in person and the house is within reasonable walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Maria and her team elevate the experience even further with 5 star service, making herself available to answer questions and even help organize transportation for our group of 10. We opted for a night with their private chef, which was easily one of the best meals we had all week and so much fun. I highly recommend Villa Bella Vista!

This property was absolutely beautiful. The house was spacious and beautiful, with lots of natural light. The property manager/concierge was amazing and helped us plan all of the details of the trip. I highly recommend her personal chef services as well!

This was hands down the best rental that we have ever stayed at. The concierge Maria went above and beyond helping to ensure we had the best trip. The house is set up perfectly for a large group - everyone had a huge bedroom with plenty of space and their own personal bathroom - you can't get any better than that. The outdoor space and pool was incredible. I would come back to this property in a heartbeat.

Maria, the concierge and chef really made our trip go smoothly. The house was very modern and well equipped. Looking forward to coming back again!!

Let me start by saying that, as a rule, I don't take the time to write reviews. But....this house, the people of Quepos, and Maria and Fernando are an absolute joy.
We arrived an hour and a half late our first day due to traffic, and Maria was there with appetizers and fresh drinks waiting. You are missing out if you don't have her make you at least one dinner and a traditional Costa Rican breakfast! Also, do not miss a meal at La Terraza at the top of the hill. Raphael is the owner and he made it magical for adults and kiddos in equal measure.
The pictures of this home and yard do not do it justice. We saw every kind of animal. Sloths, toucans(large and small), macaws, howler monkeys, Capuchins every day, squirrel monkeys, iguanas, and more hummingbirds and butterflies than I could begin to count.
If you want a slice of the magic that is Costa Rica, this is the place to do it!

100 out of 100!! Amazing people to work with, the property, the location…WOW! Fer (aka Maria), is just amazing. She planned all our activities with the BEST companies and guides. Did our grocery shopping. Scheduled taxis. It was the ULTIMATE, adventurous vacation, all made SO easy by Fer (Maria)! We had the majority of our breakfast and dinners sitting at the outside table right there at Villa Bella Vista, enjoying conversation and an incredible view. Fer (Maria), Kiera, and Andrey cooked the most incredible meals! We all would choose Fer’s (Maria’s) meals vs any other restaurant around, plus she has Kiera who was the Queen bartender making different drinks for us every evening.
Staying at the home, we had an incredible close up encounter with a 3 toed sloth, monkeys, iguanas, agouti’s, bats, toucans, scarlet macaws, parrots and so much more.
And don’t forget wonderful Fernando. He is the property manager and so sweet and made us all feel so welcome.
Thank you, Thank you, from Kris, Pat, Steve, Ashley, Mark, Kelsey, Paige and Abby

Such an amazing place. The house and the property are beautiful and located close to everything. We can't wait to go back!

Amazing! Can't say it enough times!!
Literally everything about this place is amazing! The house was perfect for our large group. There were beds for everyone and enough space with he indoor living room, large dinning table, outdoor lanai, and poolside shade to accommodate group activities as well as space for solitude. The pool setting was so picturesque. The fact that it was salt water was just extra. No weird chlorine chemicals to mess with the tropical vibe.
The hosts Maria and Fernando were so helpful. They made our trip easy and seamless. Maria helped us arrange dinner delivery on the first night which was key with our flight delays and hungry kids. She also arranged grocery deliveries and acted as our in home chef for 2 nights. Maria is a wonderful chef. Try her guac, salsa, and ceviche! During the dinner nights she partnered with her bartender friend who made some delicious drinks made with Costa Rica local spirit - Cacique/Guaro. If you need help arranging any activities Maria will be able to help you. She helped organize a shuttle pick up at the airport for part of our group. Fernando made sure all of our other needs were met - cleaning, garbage pick up etc. All in all you really can't go wrong here. We feel lucky to have found this house!

Villa Bella Vista, Manuel Antonio - Paradise on Earth!
We arrived at Bella Vista after dark, our plane was delayed by thunderstorms over San Jose and we had a long, dark drive in the rain. Upon arrival we were greeted by Maria the concierge and Fernando her father, the property manager.
First impressions were that the villa was absolutely fabulous, spacious, airy, beautifully furnished with bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen to die for; so we fell into our beds happy and excited to begin our vacation.
Words cannot describe the overwhelming beauty of the views that awaited upon sunrise the next morning. Spectacular doesn't even come close. From our bedrooms, living area and veranda we looked out over the gardens, pool, rain forest out across the ocean to Elephant Rock.
Our family party of 10, with ages ranging from 7 to 77, all fell in love with Bella Vista, everyone had something to satisfy their senses - the pool, the tropical flowers, the tranquility, the abundant wildlife.
White Face and Spider monkeys swung in the adjacent trees, some venturing onto the veranda, swinging on the railings and even quizzically examining objects left on the table. Toucans and macaws flew over, resting in the trees nearby. Almost too good to be true.
Beautiful Maria, the concierge, was a mine of information, super helpful in planning and booking the rain forest tours and ziplining during our stay, and collecting and returning the rental car.
Maria, assisted by the equally beautiful Ciara, was also our private chef. They prepared and served 3 evening meals and a breakfast for us during our stay, all authentic Costa Rican dishes, spectacular in appearance and delicious in taste. They also called by one afternoon to make us a selection of Costa Rican cocktails - most enjoyable!
Fernando, the property manager, called by every day, to check that all was well and that we had everything we needed . We were offered a maid service on demand, which we opted to take once, midway through the week, to change bed linen, towels etc. and to clean and tidy the villa, all meticulously done.
Although close to the Playa Espadilla , there was no direct access to the beach from the villa. It could be reached by the road , maybe half a mile, but it was a steep incline, too much for the youngest and oldest of our party, so the rental car was put to good use. We found the rental car essential, but others might enjoy the exercise or opt to use the red taxis which were plentiful and cheap.
We will be back!
Pura Vida!

Family vacation
House was great. The views were amazing. We had 12 people, And the house felt comfortable for all of us. The pool was absolutely amazing. Fernando was so nice and easy to do deal with.
The only negative would be the beach was borderline to far to walk. And definitely to far for some older house guests. And manual Antonio down by the beach had to many hecklers wanting you to buy something. We liked other beaches more.
Other than that, our stay at the house was perfect. We enjoyed it very much. It was the nicest VRBO I've ever stayed at. The owner definitely doesn't lie about the pictures in the profile. Being there is better. Thankyou again.

Amazing property and hospitality!
The property was amazing! We stayed with family and friends and in just 7 days sitting by the pool saw 3 types of monkeys, 3 sloths, iguanas, toucans, and so much more wilds life. Of course we may have just got lucky, but it was amazing. We also used the private chief service Tito Borge, who provided a Chief Sandy. She prepared amazing meals!!! John was also a great host with the support of his daughter Maria. So helpful with arranging excursion and helpful information. I give them 10 stars for the entire experience.

The best vacation house we've ever rented!
Remarkable. The pictures do not do the house or pool justice. I must admit – I was nervous booking the property. I had never booked VBRO out of the country and wasn’t sure how this would all work out. From the moment we entered the house – the view took our breath away.
We did not want to leave – seriously monkeys and rainbows almost every morning (we were there 9 days). The pool is unbelievable. Monkeys, sloths, parrots, toucans, iguanas, and humming birds – we saw them all from the comfort of the porch and pool. As another reviewer mentioned, you don’t need to go to the park for the full animal experience – we did visit the park and were underwhelmed after all we saw from the house. As a much added bonus – we had the pleasure of meeting Maria, Ileana and Fernando. From the first email/phone call Maria was on top of all of the details from stocking the house, planning excursions to transportation. Ileana was our chef and hands down provided the best meals throughout our stay. She even provided a cooking class for my two kiddos –one of my most favorite memories from our trip. Not to mention we’ve been gone just a few days and I’m still craving her beans and rice and tomato/ginger chicken and fish ceviche – so so good. Logistics – the house is great for children and older family members (there were 9 of us ranging from 7-69) – layout is fantastic – we all had privacy and more than enough room. All and all one of the best and most memorable trips we have taken.

Great Family House
The house is nicer than it appears in photos. Plenty of space for a large family. Beautiful grounds, relaxing and private pool. Terrific staff for cleaning and concierge (important!). We would recommend having a car, since the walk to the main road and the beach is very steep. There is no short-cut to the beach, but rather a strenuous walk. Great family vacation experience.

AMAZING!!
This property was simply amazing! We had a group of 10 adults and two toddlers stay there last week. The owners were very prompt and thorough when answering my initial questions. After making the reservation, I kept in touch with Schatzi, the concierge, who was beyond helpful. She set up our airport transfers and excursions and arranged to have Chef Paige cook for us a couple of nights (wonderful food, and such a sweetheart). There's plenty of room both indoors and out for gathering as a group or getting away for a bit of privacy. The views are stunning, and we had monkey and iguana visitors every day in addition to many beautiful birds and butterflies. Relaxing by the pool was our favorite activity. I highly recommend this property.

Amazing!
Our trip to Manuel Antonio was fabulous, from fishing to Manuel Antonio Park it was amazing. Weather was great, house location was perfect, and the view and sound of the waves was undeniably the best. The concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable. Was the perfect house for 5 couples, would definitely rent agian!

Beautiful place, hospitable people
Our family of 11 thoroughly enjoyed our time at VBV. The house was clean, and Reyna was always on the job when it came to laundry or straightening up or giving advice to my spanish speaking sister on local customs and culture.
My only complaint is that the kitchen has no pantry whatsoever. It is stocked with pots, pans, plates, glasses etc, and has plenty of storage and fridge space. But there was no salt, pepper, basic spices, cooking oil, baking soda, sugar, etc. Most of the VRBOs I stay in have a basic stock of dry goods / essentials that every kitchen needs. This one didn't, so we had to purchase a lot of stuff just to get started with cooking there. However, this was a small issue, and essentially the only issue that we had.
Schatzi was a great concierge, and put together a wonderful itinerary for us. She set us up with some of the best guides in the area - among the best guides we've ever had. We recommend using Schatzi as a concierge and local organizer.
Peter and Lily were very responsive to questions leading up to the trip, and very good at resolving issues that came up during our stay. The Internet went out at one point, and they (and Schatzi) had the utility company out the next day to fix it. The pool pump went out another time, and a pool technician was there within a couple of hours to fix it. All in all, these are great hosts.
I would recommend VBV, in fact, I already have recommended it to friends at home. Thank you Peter and Lily!

Awesome stay in Costa Rica
There were six adults and seven kids for our stay at the property and it couldn't have been better!! The house has a ton of room and the pool is amazing. We would wake everyday to the sounds of waves crashing and the call of a toucan.. We had all the kids downstairs and the adults in the bedrooms on the main and 2nd floor and we still had one room that was completely unused. The house is a 10 minute walk to the beach or you can take a two stop bus ride (under three minutes) to the beach for 335 colones. If you are thinking about Costa Rica book this place!!

Family Vacation in Manuel Antonio
Property was absolutely beautiful, looks just like photos. Pool was largest I’ve ever seen in a vacation property, and totally done with beautiful mosaic tile. It was my favorite feature of the house!
Only negative for me was the driveway leading down to the house. It is very steep, gravel, no railings, and for me was not an option with my bad back. My daughter in law fell twice. I had to take a taxi from the house anywhere we went, even all those great restaurants that were right at the top of the driveway. This being said, if you are young, fit, and don’t have health issues, it is a terrific house and location.
Beach access is up drive, across the main road, down another hill. Truthfully, not far if you can do the hills.
Housekeeper, Renata, was a delight! Schatzi helped us with reserving tours, and made some good recommendations pre arrival.
We did hire Maykelin to do some cooking for us. She and Elle were delightful. It didn’t save us money over eating out, but it was nice to have for a few days when we didn’t feel like going out. Restaurants in the area are great, and reasonably priced! All in all, a great vacation with our kids and grandkids.

Everything about the house was wonderful. Even more beautiful than the pictures. There was more than enough room for our family of 10 to spend time together, but yet room for privacy as well. The outdoor area and pool were amazing . Schatzi made the trip so easy to plan , and helped with any excursions while we were there . I can’t wait to plan our next trip back

Making memories with family
Arrived from New England ready for warm weather and fun in the sun. Villa Bella Vista exceeded all our expectations. There were 12 of us, 3 generations, 5 children and everyone one of us had a wonderful, relaxing 7 days. The pool was the children's favorite but, we all enjoyed it. There was plenty of room for all of us to have privacy and space when we needed it. My favorite time was early morning sitting on the patio meditating on the sights and sounds of the wildlife that surrounded us. We all loved the monkeys, parrots, toucans and other beautiful birds.
With Raina coming in every day and Chef Paige several evenings, we all felt very spoiled. Chef Paige's delicious meals linger in our minds.
Prior to our arrival, Shatzi helped us book a zip lining tour and a guided tour of Manuel Antonio. We found a few other side trips on our own as we had a van and a 4x4.
Throughout our stay we enjoyed the atmosphere at Espinoza Beach, a locals beach, where families frolic and picnic together. The children did parasailing and you could always rent a chaise for a few colonies.
We would love to return to Villa Bella Vista and we thank the warm, friendly people who contributed to our perfect stay.

A week of favorites!
Our group of 14 had an amazing time. The property exceeded expectations! The views were difficult to leave. Time by the pool after zip lining, rafting, beaching, etc... was relaxing. And again, the view from the pool, breathtaking. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are quite nice.
Schatzi helped out when needed. Chef Paige became part of our family and provided inspired cuisine! Reina kept everything nice and neat with a smile on her face:)
I couldn’t recommend more.

Great View
We were here with 14 people - four different families and we found plenty of space available and plenty to do. Be aware, the walk up from the house to the bus and taxi's was a butt kicker (you'll have buns of steal if you do it everyday). It is also very hot - we were there March 21 - 31st. We found plenty of good places to eat and the beaches were clean and friendly. Personally, the vendors on the beach got a little annoying, but tolerable. We had plenty of monkey visitors that came onto the porch and gave us plenty of photo opportunities. We did several excursions and enjoyed everyone of them. The people were friendly and helpful. A working knowledge of Spanish would be very helpful but we did not find it overly difficult. Overall, a great place to visit - pack light as you won't need heavy clothing!

A wonderful time in Manuel Antonio
First: the house is great (and kinda two houses in one, but more on that later). But the back porch, back yard, and pool are just Amazing. If you want a private space away from hotels and such, this is a beautiful (semi secluded) wonderful place to chill.
Two for one: there are 4 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths on the 2 upper floors...this makes a great place for a big family, or a group of people. The second part is downstairs with its own front door and a door leading to the pool. It has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. It feels like a whole second family can stay here.
Staff: Reina is the maid and she is wonderful, helpful and nice. Schatzi is the concierge and she is also helpful and nice. All in all, great "staff". I will add one person to the staff: Jose Gonzales...he is the driver from San Jose to Manuel Antonio and back. He was also wonderful. No complaints on any of the staff.
Manuel Antonio is a town, a beach, and a National Park. All are great. Cute town. Big beach. Beautiful park. The bus is cheap and frequent. Taxis plentiful. Ocean warm. All the people were insanely nice. Most spoke English (often better than me).
Wildlife. Lots of monkeys, sloths, lizards. The monkeys are very friendly, but be careful as they like to steal food if left out. The sloths are cute, but slow. The lizards...ah, so many beautiful Black Iguanas. We had a daily friend by the fountain by the pool. He was a bit wary of us at first, but we fed him a few grapes and he almost became a pet. He probably should get less treats if you don't like lap lizards....We didn't feed the monkeys as that is bad for the monkeys.
At the top of the hill (about 50 meters from our house) is a bar and restaurant that has good food, the best micheladas, and great staff. We went often as it is so close.
At the top of the hill...now here is the potential downside....the house is on a fairly steep hill. We did not rent a car, so walked that hill a few times a day. It will keep you fit. Now if you have a car, or take taxis, it is no issue. If you are young and strong, it is no issue. But it is a stiff climb for people out of shape. Going to the beach requires going up this hill and down and around for 1/4 mile? Or going up the hill and catching the bus. Or by taxi. We usually walked, but just something to consider.
All in all....great trip, lovely people, good food and drinks, amazing sunsets, best backyard in town. Just remember there is a bit of a hill to climb if you go carless
