Eine Zeitreise

Hotel und Restaurant sind in einem Original Walserhaus und alle Renovationen haben den urspünglichen Charakter des Hauses bewahrt. Das ist herrlich für die, die mit engen Treppen und niedrigen Decken kein Problem haben. Ebenso gibt es natürlich in den engen ursprünglichen Gassen keinen Parkplatz (zum Aus- und Einladen kann man tatsächlich direkt vor das Hotel fahren und der Parkplatz ist nicht weit). Das Restaurant hat uns mit der Gemüserösti begeistert. Das war genau ausgewogen, der Koch weiss, was er tut. Dies ist besonders erstaunlich, weil das Menu ansonsten vor allem für Liebhaber von Fleisch ausgerichtet ist. WLAN funktioniert gut.

Great stay!

Located in a small village, it was really great. Room was as expected and we ate at the restaurant, which was amazing. Great food and service! Breakfast was also quite decent!

Hotel in right place for our overnight stay

The hotel is in a very small town with no other dining facilities than the hotel restaurant. Fortunately it was a good place for dinner. Our room was on the second floor (no elevator) of a very old building. It was fine for a one night stay. The town had many very old buildings which were interesting to see. Free parking.

The shared bathroom was shared by three rooms. We had people who took long times in the facility. It was not very convenient when we visited. Parking was a bit away from the hotel in a lot across from the train station. Fairly expensive for the quality of the accommodations with the shared bathroom.

A lovely traditional hotel, great staff and the food was of a high standard.

Ideal location for a visit to the Furka pass. The owners made us very welcome and the food was excellent.

The village is small with only a few facilities within walking distance.

Niederwald is a wonderful surprise and the hotel was very cosy.

very nice Swiss house in a traditional Swiss village, very comfortable bed, very clean. it also has a good restaurant: try the « chouera » (potato pie) and he rhubarb cream. And visit the small museum dedicated to Mr. Ritz, the founder of the eponymous hotels. he was born in Niederwald.

A Cosy hotel with excellent evening meals. A simple breakfast typical for this area. Excellent staff who all spoke good English.

Parking not close to hotel, 5 minute walk away.

A step back in another time with today's comforts

Authentic mountain experience in the heart of a historical village, cozy wooden rooms with traditional low hanging ceilings that welcome you with their uncomplicated warmth and comfortable, restful sleep, with very good food prepared by the owner/chef in the intimate restaurant at the bottom of the stairs. All a few steps from bus and railway stops and the nordic skiing trail.

Simple but clean and comfortable room for one night

Simple but clean room in a traditional house with generous breakfast included in the price. The owners also run a restaurant which offers a wide vary of local dishes. The hotel/restaurant is located in a beautiful traditional village which happens to be the birth place of famous hotelier Cäsar Ritz. Lovely views of mountains and pastures with many options for hiking.

We had a room on the ground floor with at least two floors above us. I am not sure what was going on above us, but I was kept me awake until past midnight by the noise of chairs being pushed across the floor.

Right by the cross country ski trails and the train line. There are many trails all up and down the valley. Beautiful historic wooden home and great restaurant. Note that the bathroom is shared but is always kept very clean and tidy.
