Good stay, value for money, great location - cleanliness could be enhanced

Superb location with great detail on parking (although name of the chicken takeaway has changed so had to circle block twice) - not a huge problem Instructions emailed for gate, door access etc. clear and easy

Cleanliness - Bathroom floor not clean, also stairwell carpet was not hovered and stained The Fireescape sign in the stairs had fallen down and just lying on the floor (also as a slip hazard ironically)

Good location, free parking

The check-in & booking process was shambolic, no-one answers the phones or replies to emails. The television didn't work in my room and the shower didn't work in my friend's room. Both rooms were dirty.

Wouldn’t not stay here again

Location is the best thing about it

Dirty towels laid out for us. I had to solve the room networking issues to be able to access the internet. Non of the analog or digital tv channels were tuned in. Tuning failed on every attempt.

Shabby but not in a chic way

Reception area and front of building look very promising. Reception staff fabulous, friendly and welcoming.

- grubby, smelly in places, room huge but really badly done. definitely not worth £70. Won't be staying again sadly.

Perfect location for what we needed, you did have to find your own food and drink.

Good size room and location with parking in the city centre.

excellent stay and great location and would recommend

It was a great location, and comfortable room. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Parking difficult due to access works around. More instruction on how to get to the car park would have been useful. Didn't like the style interior and furniture. Access to the room was a bit tortuous with no lift and winding narrow stair. The bath/shower was very slippy and an additional grab rail would have been safer.

All the tacky distractions do very little to hide this hotel's fatigue and poor craftsmanship

Secure parking

One way system and road works make finding the parking near enough impossible. Plus there is a coded gate, you need to check in before you get the code so you need to leave the car somewhere first. There were no staff working. I was let in after 30 minutes of knocking. Wifi was down, internal network offered as solution, it was patchy. There were no amenities what so ever. The interior is so dated and impractical, common spaces between rooms feel like student accommodation. Decor is tacky, crystal door knobs that aren't tightened, glittery pillows, laminate bathroom flooring and well used memory foam. Save yourself the disappointment and stay in the Hilton.

Superb stay in difficult times

Staff made us feel very welcome, safe and comfortable during our stay last week. The hotels location is superb. All precautions in place for COVID-19 including hand sanitising, hotel was extremely clean and limited contact with staff. Bedroom was larger than most normal hotel bedrooms. Bed was extremely comfortable. Hotel has a small car park and directions to it very clear. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again after lockdown restrictions are lifted. Can highly recommend Knight and Garter, Giggling Squid, Kai, and Middleton Steakhouse which are all within walking distance - literally on the doorstep!
