Exceptional

This is a lovely, family-run hotel. It is right in the heart of things (restaurants, shops, sights), but is extremely quiet. Breakfast is excellent. The bed is comfortable. It was pretty hot during my visit but the air conditioner kept the room at a very comfortable temperature. I recommend this hotel t5o other travelers and if I were to return to Puerto Ayora I would stay here again.

Beautiful property

Lovely property, very large room, nice amenities, great breakfast! The little dog, Lava, was a highlight!

A little expensive considering the location: a bit far from shops and restaurants. WiFi did not work at all. Took AC quite a while to cool room.

Superb

Breakfast was the same everyday. Scrambled eggs,slice of cheese, toasted croissant, glass of juice and 24° tea, coffee and cocoa service. It was all delicious.

I liked the environment of the place, the owner is a lovely old lady who tries to keep the guests always happy. The breakfast is simple but nice and if you have a tour early in the morning they can also prepare it in advance.

Lava House is family owned and all the family members were so warm and gracious and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is a short walking distance to the main street.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Familiar atmosphere. Beautiful Garden with trees that provide the fruit for a delicious fresh juice for breakfast.

It's a bit far to walk with heavy bags from the dock. (Without bags it's walking distance from everything.)

Quiet location in a secure garden setting

Lava House is just a 5 minute walk from the malecon. You will find yourself in a clean and spacious room centered around a lovely garden, with a sassy little Boston Terrier named Lava running around keeping everything in check. And you will be treated to a delightful (and very complete) breakfast on their raised wooden terrace overlooking the garden. I stayed here three nights but wish I had the forethought to book a longer stay. Highly recommended!

It would be so fine if breakfast was offered longer than 0700-0830. I am not known for early rising, and even if breakfast could be extended until 0900 it would help people like me.

Paradise in an immaculate hostal, five star staff and service.

Excellent full breakfast in open air dining area. The staff is of the highest quality and service (Michelle, Rosita, Isabel, Richard, & others) These people went miles beyond the expected during the COVID-19 pandemic. Without their help we would not have been able to get a change in our return plane reservations. They made the trip special.

I'd have to stretch to find something we didn't like. If you have children be aware the pool is a small above ground unit. Still a treat after a day hiking or being in a beach location. For some people the distance to the malecon may be an issue but for us the 15 minute separation from the crowd gave us a piece of tranquillity.
