Hallstatt on weekdays is almost empty and closed on the evenings. You have to be aware. Morevover no supermarket in town.

Perfect and definitely would stay there again if I am going back to Hallstatt.

We booked the lake view room and we loved it, you wake up in the morning, open the window and you’ll see the beauty of Hallstatt (lake, mountain and traditional houses). Location is near the marketplace and museum. We asked to arrive early, since the room were ready, they allowed us to check in an hour early, they are also responsive to messages.

We didn’t find any fault, there were instant coffee available as well if you arrive and need something to drink while resting.

My experience at this charming stay was nothing short of exceptional, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in the area. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Tamara, the host of Pension Hallberg. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating, allowing me to check in early so that I could settle in and start exploring the beautiful surroundings right away. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the linens were of the highest quality, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. What really made my stay at Pension Hallberg so special, however, was the level of hospitality and care that Tamara provided throughout my visit. She was always available to answer my questions and offer recommendations on places to visit and things to do in the area, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. The guesthouse itself is situated in a beautiful and peaceful location, surrounded by stunning scenery and offering easy access to local attractions and activities. Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or an action-packed adventure, Pension Hallberg is the perfect base from which to explore the area. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Pension Hallberg to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in the area. Amazing views and great service

The staff was really friendly and respectful. It is located at the heart of the city center and has amazing views. I traveled solo as a remote worker and I couldn't have a nicer stay. Totally recommended.

Kitchenware like frying pans aren't very suitable for cooking if you wan't to save some euros from the Hallstatt prices

The location was phenomenal. Tamara, the manager, was very welcoming and accommodating. The room with a view was amazing, bed comfy and Netflix available. Very clean, spacious and all round nice atmosphere. There is access to a toaster and kettle etc which is very useful. Please be mindful that all places shut in the evening in Hallstatt so grab some snacks and avail of these if required. Be sure to ask them about their Cafe and check it out. 😊

The Pearl of Austria

Very friendly and open staff, familiar place directly in the middle of Hallstatt. Big and cozy appartmants with direct view to the lake. Full kitchen equipment helped us prepare breakfast and dinner for ourselves..

Mid-level crowd on the streets, can't imagine how it is in summer when overturism takes full effect.

Wonderful place to stay in Hallstatt

We had a wonderful experience at the Pension Hallberg. Stayed there for 6 nights and enjoyed the every moment of it. The studio was clean and very comfortable. It has all the necessary amenities as well as coffee, biscuits, snacks etc. The location is perfect and especially the view was amazing. The owners are very sweet old couple. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. They were really nice, helpful, shared good tips about the area and always greeted us with smile. On New years day they shared a delicious cake with us too. They were flexible with the check-in and check-out time as well. Would definitely stay there again. I'd highly recommend.

Great location and facilities, excellent service by the landlady but watch out for the landlord.

Great location and the room was spacious and lovely. The lady on the property was sweet and lovely and even provided laundry service for us and that was amazing because it wasn't one of the services provided! For the room, the furniture and the facilities were in good condition. There is a lift for us to bring luggage to the upper floors. There is also free coffee and tea for us to drink.

The landlord of the property was a grouchy old man. He was grouchy throughout my entire stay there and it wasn't the best experience talking to him. We asked him for advice on how to get there before we stepped into Hallstatt and he wasn't very helpful either. During our stay, we asked him if it is possible to do laundry service again. He told us very bluntly and grouchily that the landlady was sick and the laundry service was an extra. I thought it was quite reasonable why he can't help us with the laundry but the delivery and the tone weren't pleasant, we thought he could have said that more nicely. We wish his wife well after his reply.

Best location, great room and view, charming. Amazing Hosts, Perfect!

The location and view are just exceptional. Located right in the town and just meters from the lake. Our room was roomy, clean and comfortable. The proprietors were super friendly fun and helpful- seems they enjoyed having us as much as we enjoyed visiting. I really hope I get a chance to stay there again sometime.

Exceptional

We had a really good time. The rooms were large, clean, and each had a beautiful view on different parts of the lake and/or village. Also, the owners very very friendly and always happy to help and answer questions. And the kids enjoyed the tasty cakes that welcomed us after our excursions. Overall, a very recommendable location to stay.

If heaven was ever a place on earth, maybe this is it.

- the view is majestic! from our room we got an undisturbed view of the town & lake. please stay here to relive our experience. - the room is very old school/classic, don't get me wrong, i think we like it very much as it matched with the whole old/historic vibe - spacious room, with facilities (tubs/satellite TV/kitchenette/etc) - the lift alone deserves 5 stars! going up & down with luggage & baby stroller was a breeze! - the hosts were so nice, especially towards my little baby! the kindness goes beyond words, they prepared a simple mothers day gift for us as a family - a very central location, and unexpectedly quiet in the room. perhaps since it was because we were in off peak season, but condition may vary in peak season, i think.

- wifi was rather non-existent, but i guess when you're at this place, the real connection with the real world matters most!

The location and the room view is sooooo nice and unforgettable in Hallstatt. The owners are really sweet and take care all the detail for us :) I highly recommend people travel to choose this as your top priority.

The best location in town. Having morning coffee with magical views. The owners were so welcoming and fun. The whole place was filled with interesting and beautiful things. It was a very special trip!

Parking in all of Hallstatt is annoying, but not specific to this place.

Pension Hallberg: definitely worth your stay!

The view from the room was absolutely amazing. The owners were very friendly and open to questions. Cleaning was done well and regularly. It's an ideal place to use as your base for exploring the Dachstein mountain area.

There's no downsides at Pension Hallberg. Maybe if your are a light sleeper, then you'll be awoken early since the curtains do let through a lot of light. But that gives you an early start to the day so you can enjoy the beautiful area.
