It was a good hotel with comfortable large access close to the cloud forest with a great breakfast too!

The rooms were large and comfortable and we had a pretty Mountain View. You could walk to the cloud forest entrance in about 10-15 minutes. The staff was very nice and booked tours for us. The breakfast was great with fresh juice, coffee, fruits and a choice of either pancakes or eggs with rice/beans, plantains, toast etc. They had a daily happy hour from 3:30-5:30 as well and a restaurant serving lunch and dinner. When our night tour bus broke down and we arrived late, the kitchen still offered soups and sandwiches after closing which we appreciated!

The dirt road to get here is very windy and steep filled with lots of potholes as are most in remote areas. There’s not any onsite activities.

Staff and location were great

There was no a/c... which they didn't advertise, but there were no portable fans available. The room, even with doors and window open had very little cross ventilation. Sleeping, what there was, was not restful

At one with nature in a beautiful place

The property is so beautiful and welcoming and the location was perfect! I wish I had booked at least two more nights in order to see more of the area. I will be back !

Cloud forest

Peaceful Lodge in the Monteverde Cloud Forest

Breakfast and the view into the Cloud Forest just so perfect and peaceful. It is a very well maintained and environmentally suited lodge for the Monteverde Cloud Forest area. Who can just walk to the Reserve. Very helpful staff and relaxing lounge area.

Beautiful hotel in the clouds

This is a stunning property- the view from our room was lovely. My kids enjoyed sitting in the enclosed patio and looking out the window, I enjoyed reading my book and resting after a day of hiking. Very responsive staff!! They returned my messages promptly and helped arrange a guide for me as well as booking a dinner for the night of our arrival. Very clean rooms and bathrooms - loved the organic toiletries as well. Walking distance to the Cloud Forest and not a very long drive into town! Wonderful location. We will be back for a longer stay!

Nice view, decent value but heat and hygiene were lacking.

The location was good. The breakfast was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The room was freezing cold, stuffy and damp. The bedding had a bad odour as if it hadn't been washed in a long time. I had a hard time falling asleep as I didn't want the bedding close to my face but was freezing at the same time. Not a restful night.

Great night in a beautiful location with fantastic staff.

Walls were a little thin but we travel with ear plugs and family stayed on either side of us so were all respectful of each other.

Dissappointing due to lack of cleanliness.

The reason I am writing this is to say that sometimes I feel cheated when I pay and get suboptimal services and poor conditions. I paid 150 USD for the room; there were hair in the bathroom and small "indoor" cockroaches.

Great location and landscape but room needs updates including better beds and shower and people working there need more

Momentous Mountain High in Monteverde!

The free breakfast was limited, yet staff easily accommodated our request for more fresh fruit. We brought our own soy milk and cereal. Staff cheerfully provided bowls for us. We enjoyed the view from the balcony mountain-view room. There was a desk, but no chair. There were, however, two excellent chairs facing the forest and mountains. We enjoyed the garden grounds and the birds the flowers attracted. There were plenty of plugs in the room for charging all our gear. The restaurant offerings were excellent, with good vegan choices. The park is only a 15 minute walk away.

It was not a necessity, but we could have used a microwave and fridge in the room. The rooms are not sound proofed, so noisy neighbors may be an issue. We had none. When there was a strong wind, our windows would hum. We grew to enjoy the mountain sounds.

Comfy, great location

Comfy room, nice staff, really close to the park entrance (15min walk) which made it easy to arrive when the park opened at 7am (also because breakfast was served from 6:30am). Nice pancake breakfast with fresh fruit.

There was a bright light from the parking lot shining into my room.

Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful setting within walking distance of Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Staff were friendly and helpful and brought us extra blankets and a heater as it was so cold.

Inside of the hotel is quite dark!!

Mountain Views

This hotel was well run, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable, with nice linens, lots of blankets and a choice of good pillows. We slept well. The food at the restaurant was good while the service was excellent.
