THE LOIRE ROMANCE, large traditional fluvial cottage (see the photos by the sign on the right) moored in front of LA VILLA DE LOIRE the beautiful villa of master by the river (see the picture by the sign on the left)
Spaces to live different from the daily ideally located in the island between two arms of Loire, associating the dream, the proximity of the water, the beautiful traditional work, the calm and a romantic decoration.
For the LOIRE ROMANCE boat we have favored solid wood for aesthetics and comfort and in an ecological concern for varnishes and lazures that are not harmful for the environment.
We deliberately aimed for a high standard of equipment and comfort on board. Bedding, kitchen equipment with dishwasher, induction hob, oven crisp, hood ... sanitary: glass cabin shower, glass basin sink, electric towel rail and separate toilet. Running water and city drinking and sewage disposal to the network.
VILLA DE LOIRE is a very nice independent apartment on the first floor of the large imperial villa in a private park that offers a breathtaking view of the Loire Valley facing south and relaxing park side.
Here we have sought to propose a place reminiscent of the royal river flowing past the property on the island of Offard in the center of Saumur.
The VILLA DE LOIRE apartment is distinguished by an aestheticism combining the traditional and the contemporary. The Loire so close inspires the decoration: whitened tones or driftwood and a vintage and innovative furniture. High table in the living room, allowing for lunch over the river; canopy in the master bedroom and trendy decor. Kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, bathtub in the bathroom.
Outside, the very flowered park dominated by its immense cedar of Lebanon almost three hundred years old is an invitation to travel with its small palm grove and banana plantation, its giant bamboo massif, but also a trip back in time with its rock cave late nineteenth and the exoticism of the canopy.
Both cottages can be rented simultaneously offering accommodation for 12 people or 14 people (6 people on the boat LOIRE ROMANCE and 6 people in the VILLA OF LOIRE) or separately depending on availability.
The park of the villa is available largely for a barbecue, a part of balls or bowling that we lend you.
The location in the center of Saumur is yet 'apart', on the island, different!
So close the Saturday morning market its oysters of Noirmoutier, asparagus sands of the Loire, strawberries and market gardeners picked from the day before and rices of choice tasted with a white, pink or red raw Saumur!

Great little houseboat on the Loire
This owner has two boats for rent which became a little confusing when we showed up assuming we were going to be in one boat but ended up in the other. In the end, it didn’t make a difference… We had a wonderful time and the houseboat was perfect for us. It had stunning views of the castle, the kids had a blast playing in the river and along sandbars, it was peaceful and tranquil, very convenient to the surrounding area, and a highlight of our trip.

Lovely houseboat with comfortable accommodations
Love the location, but a far walk from downton Saumur in the winter. Probably lovely in the warmer weather. Beds were pretty comfortable and the water pressure was low, but the view and quiet and river were lovely.

Séjour très agréable mais trop court
La météo n'était pas de la partie car nous y étions du 31 décembre au 2 janvier mais nous y avons vraiment passé un très bon moment. L'accueil a été parfait. Les prestations sont vraiment de qualité (literie irréprochable, vue sur le château incroyable...).
Nous recommandons sans problème à quiconque aime la tranquillité et des "vacances différentes".

My friends and I were so comfortable in the Villa (with amazing views of The city and the Loire River) we were not particularly wanting to move - until we saw the boat !! It was a beautiful, hand crafted tiny house in the water, constructed by George. Could sleep 6. But only one "head". We were three adults and had plenty of room. Running back and forth (bow to stern) for the best Sunset shots. Sameur is lit at night after the sun goes down. Church bells ... Breakfast on the fan tail under a small umbrella! Magical !

In der Tat ein besonderes Erlebnis im liebevoll und schön eingerichtetem Hausboot. Das Panorama auf Stadt und Brücke inklusive herrlicher Sonnenuntergänge ist einzigartig. Herzliche Begrüßung durch die Vermieter.
Kurze Wege in die Altstadt und zum Bäcker.
Saumur ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung diverser Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Dicht bij de stad en toch heerlijk rustig
Erg leuke ervaring op een woonboot dicht bij de stad.
Op de boot alle rust , paar minuten lopen en je bent in het centrum van Saumur.
Ook in de omgeving voldoende te zien en te doen

Très confortable, un vrai cocon
En plein hiver le bateau est très confortable. On est comme dans un chalet bien isolé. C'est chauffé comme dans un cocon et avec un petit de 4 ans c'était important. On va revenir pour le mois d'Aout . La Loire sera bien différente et on pourra mieux profiter de la terrasse bien que pour l'hiver elle est protégée du vent et on avait pu déjeuner dehors au soleil. On adore ce bateau!

Peaceful, superb views, gracious hosts
Armelle and Georges (and their chien Gork) were wonderful hosts. The landslide home is beautiful and peaceful-well appointed. Superb views of the river and short walk to the city centre for self catering. Walking/jogging areas and tranquility/quiet. The houseboat is excellent-fully equipped, rustic wood work, and beautiful sunsets. Merci beaucoup!

The place is super nice, something you probably won't find anywhere else. The houseboat is perfectly and lovely made and has all you need to enjoy your stay. Host is kind and helpful. Top of the class!

Traumhaft schön!
Die Fotos versprechen wirklich nicht zu viel - wir haben ganz ähnliche Aufnahmen vor Ort gemacht. Das Hausboot ist ein traumhaft schöner Ort zum Entspannen und es sich gut gehen lassen. Egal ob es der wunderbare Blick bei den Mahlzeiten "von Deck" rüber zum Schloss ist oder der Sonnenuntergang, den man vom Schlafzimmer aus bewundern kann - der Aufenthalt ist wirklich sehr, sehr schön. Genügend Platz ist auf jeden Fall für vier Personen (2 Erwachene und 2 Kinder). Die Einrichtung ist sehr neu, gepflegt und luxuriös. Das Boot liegt direkt am Ufer in einer Reihe mit einigen anderen (Fischer-)Booten und ist über einen neuen Metallsteg erreichbar - das ist auf den Fotos noch anders. Da die Loire so ruhig fließt, schaukelt das Hausboot so gut wie gar nicht. Ab und zu kommen Fischer oder Kanu-Fahrer vorbei und man kann sich zuwinken. Ansonsten genießt man die ganz besondere Atmosphäre an Bord.
Saumur ist ein wunderschönes kleines Städtchen, in das man zu Fuß in 5 Minuten gelangt. Achtung: Anfang August ist an zwei Abenden ein großes Fest in Saumur. Dann wird es laut. Am Besten: Mitfeiern!
Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert ist eine Kanu-Tour auf der Loire. Der Kanu-Verleih ist auf der Insel ca. 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Bäcker, Metzger und einen kleinen Lebensmittelladen finden man ebenfalls auf der Insel.
Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern war sehr nett und wir konnten alle Fragen schnell und freundlich klären.
Fazit: Wir hatten eine grandiose Zeit auf dem Boot und haben jetzt viele malerische Fotos im Album!

Un sejour fabuleux, atypique et de qualité
Mon commpagnon et moi-même avons beaucoup apprécié ce charmant gîte fluvial, tout équipé, décoré avec sobriété et goût. Nous étions subjugués face à une vue imprenable sur la Loire et sur le château de Saumur. Le matin, au réveil lorsque l'on ouvre les volets (à distance) on se retrouve face au fleuve devant un paysage tellement inhabituel, tellement magnifique. Les propriétaires sont charmants, discrets et de bons conseils. Il est possible d'aller au centre ville à pied (en 10 minutes), il y a une belle ballade à faire le long des quais. Je recommande vivement cet endroit. D'ailleurs, les photos parlent d'elles-mêmes. Lorsque nous les avons montrées a nos proches, tous nous ont demandé l'adresse de cette merveilleuse découverte !

Confort, calme et volupté... sur l'eau!
Je voyage beaucoup et j'ai rarement vécu un tel séjour insolite. On est "sur l'eau" même allongé sur le lit ! Sa situation est idéale. La ville de Saumur et ses environs sont magnifiques en bord de Loire. La lumière est belle à toute heure. Le matin et le soir sont mes moments préférés. L'emplacement, dans l'ile de Saumur et très calme avec une vue de carte postale. Dans le bateau et sur la terrasse on a goûté un moment formidable. Les enfants ont adoré: "trop fun"!
Le LOIRE ROMANCE est un gite génial. Le bateau est d'une propreté totale, il est très confortable, l’accueil des propriétaires est d'une grande gentillesse, avec sans prévenir cette bouteille de Saumur brut fraîche offerte. Pour couronner le tout, les prix pratiqués sont très raisonnables en proportion du magnifique séjour que nous avons passé sur le bateau. Je ne vois pas où il peut y avoir à redire...
En bref, une adresse où l'on aimera revenir ...en couple !!!
