About this bed and breakfast

If you are looking for a relaxing outdoor family get away on the beautiful Cypress Creek in Wimberley, Texas; then you have found your heaven. Our cabin (Paul's Barn) is 200 feet from the waters edge with an amazing view from the porch and patio. We have 2 swings to launch yourself into the crystal clear water, both deep and shallow water. We highly recommend you bring your favorite float. We like to use the term Glamping, we are upscale camping with beds, ceiling fans, a restroom w/ outdoor shower, efficiency kitchen and all the outdoor toys and sports equipment to make any kid (small or large) smile and laugh.

Paul's barn is a collection of old with a touch of new. The open air layout and huge cypress tree canopy is perfect for the outdoor lover. The evenings are very pleasant with the constant flow of clean fresh air under lots of ceiling fans. We have recently installed a mini split AC unit in the loft area (you can feel it in the downstairs area). You will love the outdoor shower. The decor and amenities, make for a perfect escape for a small family of 5 or less. We have lots of fun games and outdoor activities for the kids. Our close proximity to town (1 mile) puts you in the heart of Wimberley in just 1-2 minutes.

We had a great time at the guest house on Cypress Creek! I found that the listing and associated pictures were very accurate, so it was exactly what I expected and hoped for! Communication: Wendy was easy to get ahold of. She gave us a lot of space and privacy, but was available if we needed help. Indoors: The guest house is so cute. It's thoughtfully decorated, and designed for kids, adults, and pets. There are games, toys, dart board, and foosball table, plus a covered porch with a basketball arcade. Lots to do in case of rainy weather. Although the house is not airtight, we did not see any bugs or spiders in the house at all. Loved the outdoor shower! The beds are up a steep staircase, but the kids loved it and were comfortable enough. The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. If you are staying more than 2 nights, I recommend bringing additional coffee, paper towels, and toilet paper, although there are 2 grocery stores very nearby. Outside: There's so much to do outside, but we spent most of our time at the creek. The water was historically low when we went, but it was still 6 feet deep in the main swimming hole, and was cold! Loved the rope swing, kayaks, and floaties! There is a basketball court with pickleball, zip line, and other yard things. Plenty of space to sit outside. The main house is right next door, but no windows face the guest house, and we felt that we had enough privacy. Overall, a great stay, and will come again!

We had an absolutely fantastic time - the property is a hidden gem, secluded and serene, with a crystal-clear creek that provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation. It was so refreshing to have a spot all to ourselves, away from the crowds. The location is also a huge plus. It’s super close to the square, where we enjoyed delicious meals at local restaurants, live music, and even a fascinating glass-blowing demonstration. Everything we wanted was just a short drive away. The environment was peaceful and the whole experience was incredibly fun for our family. Whether we were lounging by the creek or exploring nearby attractions, there was always something enjoyable to do. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot for a family getaway. Highly recommend.

Spent a week on the property The property was exactly as listed! We did share the creek with the neighbors one morning but beds were comfortable, air unit and fans kept the barn cool and we loved the outdoor shower.

Beautiful property with steps right into the cool and clear Cypress Creek. Wendy is an AMAZING host! Paul’s Barn was comfortable for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) with all the outdoor adventures right off the porch and plenty of fun games to keep our young boys busy. Rope swing, platform to jump off, zip line, kayaks, and basketball court were all a hit. Hershey (the cat) was an added bonus for cuddles and entertainment too! We got lucky and didn’t have to share the creek with other properties while we were there. There is a small AC in the loft to help keep the barn cool at night and plenty of fans to use during the day for good air flow since the doors are not sealing the barn completely. Shower was outside and the kids thought it was hilarious. Wendy’s property is only a couple of minutes from Wimberly Square. Had a GREAT time! Memories were made and relaxation was achieved. Thank you Wendy for sharing your little slice of heaven!!

Me and my family went to this property to view the total eclipse and enjoy some time away from home for a weekend. While we did catch a lot of clouds for the event the rest of the stay was quite enjoyable. We had no issues staying cool with the great airflow of the property, keeping the mosquitos out of the barn, or making simple meals. We enjoyed the fireflies and my toddler had a lot of fun following the local cat and playing at Old Baldy and the Blue Hole Playground (both only a short drive away). We didn't experience the amazingly clear creek due to how cold the water was (just being cautious for the toddler) but would definitely have taken a dip in the summer.
