The price is reasonable, and there is central ac. The location is good, and the laundry is great.
But the house is showing its wear in places. Every step sounds like a herd of animals as many floorboards creak loudly at every step. The house was caked in dust, and none of the linens were set on any of the beds, which was an annoying inconvenience. That said, the Manager brought back the cleaners and replaced the ac filter upon our loud complaints. I found the AC system filter the recycling bin and it was covered in 3 inches of "fur." I bring that up because it is sympotamic of the house not being well-maintained. A few burnt out lightbulbs added to that sense, along with a fence about to fall over, cracks in the outside, and a soft stair in the entrance.
Even the very basic coffee maker has no auto shutoff. Instead it the Manager seems to rely on Guests to make sure that they don't cause a fire versus replacing a $20 coffee maker.
Still, there were positives, and the rental was on the more economical side. Some beds were better than others. Our kids enjoyed the house, and we appreciated the games and books.

Great location being close to town and the lake! So much to do in the area!

Pre-visit chat with owner answered questions and was very helpful. Location is great, lake access important for summer fun, and lots of room to spread out. 3adults and 2 small children on this trip but cabin could accommodate a few more. 4 star cleanliness due to decks that needed sweeping and floors that might have been mopped better. But over all, a responsive host and fun cabin for vacation. Would stay again.

I would NEVER use this cabin. The seller is not polite and unexpectedly told me to wash and dry all our towels and sheets before leaving at 11 am. I find that policy impossible to do. Eating breakfast for a 5 yr old, packing up PLUS doing laundry before 11 am was impossible for me at 77. He canceled our weekend. Rather than canceling, I would have made the effort to do the laundry and please him. Nope! He cancelled us at the last minute. Inconsiderate to say the least. Be ware of this owner! At your own risk.

Great lau out and location

Quaint old cabin that has a gated deck and front yard that was appreciated. Bedding could use an update all around.

This is a nice little place, a bit quirky floor plan. For the most part it was clean. There were plenty of dishes but only three glasses. The instructions in the cabin did not show where or how to get to the lake. The deadbolt on the door is a little tricky with the key. The beds were comfortable and the showers were nice. Overall, it was comfortable and a nice place to stay.
2.0
While we appreciated being able to bring our dogs to this rental, the cabin was not very clean. Also, the beds had not been made. In addition, the previous renter filled the garbage can to the top and there wasn't room for us to put our garbage in (we brought it home with us). So instead of having a happy family memory of our weekend in Twain Harte, we will remember that this cabin totally missed its mark for being clean, comfortable and relaxing.

Cabin was well stocked and clean. The air conditioning in the house was a huge plus during the hot weather we had. We will definitely come back again next year!

Loved the cabin and definitely well stocked. The cleanliness needed to be improved. Floors were not clean, Propane problem unable to use BBQ…. That was disappointing and property management was no help. Loved the use of private lake, huge plus with small children. Door bolt lock was difficult to unlock, need to play and jiggle key.

Clean, quiet, well stocked, and comfy!

Loved this quaint cabin with lake access. It was larger than expected with plenty of room for our family of 5 and loaded with lots of games, books and movies for entertainment. The kitchen was well equipped and the cozy dining area with large table was perfect for family meals. It was a 20min walk to the private lake through scenic woods and beautiful cabins, and a 10 min walk downtown. Our kids did not want to leave. Would highly recommend this place.
4.0
The layout of the cabin worked well for us, with each room having a bathroom nearby. The location of the cabin is very close to town and to the lake. Although there was occasional road noise, it was mainly quiet. We didn't feel the cabin floor had been cleaned, our bare feet became very dirty after a short time walking around the kitchen/dining area. As others have mentioned, the cabin feels cluttered, but the upside is you can find just about anything you need. The keurig was not working for us, and there was an issue with the freezer door not staying closed and thus beeping unless held with tape. It seemed like something the manager was not aware of when I mentioned it to him. The beds were comfortable, as was the furniture. The cabin is situated in a cluster of other cabins which was not a problem, but between the inside and outside, for me, it seemed that there was too much stuff everywhere. Overall, this was a good stay. If you know what to expect, this cabin can easily meet your needs and you can have a great time visiting town & the lake.

This Cabin was perfect for my family's weekend ski trip to Dodge Ridge.
My daughter loved the bunkbed and the whole house was cozy.
The Cabin had a smart TV and the kids were able to stream their favorite shows.
The location was very great, Twain Hart has a cute little downtown area a few minutes from the cabin where I was able to get anything I needed.
The check-in/out process was seamless and I had no issues with my stay.

The place felt retro and modern at same time. Great location. Clean, fully stocked, owner very responsive to all questions I had before arrival and during my stay. Lots of books and games for kids. Def will book again.

It was fine for four guys.
Power went out midnight first night, came back on in the morning
Couldn't get TV to work.
We just rotated from Ed's to The Epp to the Pro Shop to cover the down time. We had a good time.
Forgot the potato salad and salsa and beets in frig. They are enclosed and in frig on the door. Would stay again, but the neat freak wife's would not enjoy, hence four guys

This was a great place to gather with family, have quality time together, and laugh. This is a cabin in the mountains with plenty of nature and peacefulness. The house was fully stocked, and the host responded to calls/texts. Just bring your loved ones, clothes, and food. Downtown Twain Harte is a short walk and, has shops, a creamery, dining, coffee houses, etc. We hope to return to Dandelion's Lair, and highly recommed it.

We had a great stay in Dandelion's Lair. It was our families first stay in Twain Harte and it was in the perfect location. A very short drive to both restaurants and ice cream in downtown Twain Harte and the Twain Harte lake. Dandelion's Lair is a classic cabin getaway with everything you need to get away and feel like you are in the mountains. It might not be the most updated or modern house, but it was clean with good supplies and lots of board games for the kids- just what we were looking for. Plus we saw deer multiple times walking through the backyard!

It’s very comfortable and cozy. Mike was very responsive during our stay. Access to the lake was frosting on the cake. Driveway was a challenge but easy once we learned the trick.
Would love to return.

The floors (kitchen and bath) were filthy. Deck has not been swept in months. Only one bedroom had a closet. It’s was spacious and kitchen was well equipped.

The house is nice with lots of independent gathering spaces

After 10 minutes of our arrival we left and never went back. Walking up to the house it was covered in cob webs and the deck hasn’t been swept since last fall at least. The inside of the house was even worse. There were cob webs on Christmas tree and on the wreath and most corners of the house. The carpet was u raveling and filthy. None of the five beds were made. Just had folded sheets on top. Old food was in fridge and faucet was not attached to sink. I literally could pick it off the sink. And the sponge was very old and used. In the manual it says to just put sponge in dishwasher when you leave so I don’t know how many guests have used it. Completely unsanitary.
It was the worst rental I have ever been in and I would like my $600 refunded.

This is a fun cabin for a family with children. The cabin has lots of games, a fun decor, and Lake Twain Harte privileges. Mike, the property manager, was responsive.

Cute little house with a lot of room. It is nothing fancy but somewhere you can chill and relax with the family including pet members. It was 20 minuttes out from Pinecrest, Lyons reservoir and close to lots of different hikes. The only minuses was you can't walk around the neighborhood because the cars go super fast and there are no sidewalks. We were going to go for a walk to town with the dogs and we quickly realiized it was not safe. Also the private lake was had so many rules there really isn't much use. No food, no dogs, no floaties, no alcohol. . No fun?. I was really excited about the lake so that was a big bummer. The little house did was has so much to make you comfortable and lots of space. It think it will be a great place for winter break.

Great communication with owner and easy check in process. Very convenient location. We had a great week!

We enjoyed the relaxing and very quiet area. Thank you so much for letting my family stay at the Lair. This was a perfect get away.

Cozy, funky, charming cabin. Wonderful area to explore.

We had a good stay at Dandelion’s Lair. It is an older, quirky house, but it was plenty of space for our group of 7.
Pros: Good location, walking distance to main part of town, enough kitchen seating for a group of 7-8, plenty of dishes and utensils provided, Membership to the lake.
Cons: The house is older and creaky with uneven floors, toilets are leaky (one has to be turned off between flushes or it runs), needs a good deep cleaning, not enough comfortable seating in living area for a large group, Keurig is broken - only works with reusable coffee pod, carpets/blankets could use a good wash.
Overall it was comfortable enough for our family, we did have to stock up on a couple of things like paper towels and soap. I wish there was more comfortable seating in the living room, like a couple of recliners or bean bags. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the neighborhood
was quiet.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything we could have needed was there and then some. We placed the sheets in washer and dryer as directed though it was more than I would have put in my washer and dryer. I did notice yours are much larger than mine. So I guess it was OK. We were unable to completely close the lock box for the keys. Sent an email about that to the owner. Never heard anything though.

Cute and quirky cabin in the heart of Twain Harte! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Propane was empty, so had to change our dinner plans

I had booked the house back in December for a Christmas present for my kids, hoping there would be snow, but knowing our favorite spot would be an option and Twain Harte would cut our drive in half. The house was perfect for us and had all we needed. We missed the big snow storm in Twain Harte by a few days, but I think I'm glad we did so we were able to get in and out of Twain Harte and up to Pinecrest! We even got to enjoy the deck for lunch one day. Would be a great spot in the summer.

Excellent rental and the owner was very helpful on advise about the weather and getting there safely
4.0
There isn't a stainless steel appliance or granite countertop to speak of, which is exactly what we wanted. You aren't going on a trip to try out a new gourmet recipe--you're going to spend time with family in a cozy, funky, family house.
The wall artwork has been put up willy nilly, there are books and old Disney VHS movies (my teen didn't know which way they went into the player). There is a hodge-podge of dishes. The floor goes up a step here, down a step there, and is tilted in places. There is enough room to spread out--one bedroom down that way, one down that way...
Manager Mike was extra responsive when we feared we'd be stuck in the Blizzard of '23.
There is a fenced in yard which the dog appreciated, a carport which kept the deep snow off our rental car. The driveway is as slippery as Mike said it was.
The furnace kept the house warm and there is a wood-burning stove (you'll need paper).
The town is easily walkable, even in the snow.
Not so goods:
--a constantly running toilet should have been disclosed before we got there. Our girls had to turn on the wall knob every time they needed to use it.
--the kitchen bowls and pots and pans needed to be pre-washed before using.
--it didn't feel "extra clean", but it didn't feel particularly dirty. Cobwebs and dust, yes. Rodent droppings, no.
--the beds were passable, but not as good as home (are they ever?).
--the windows were old and drafty. They shook with the wind. This doesn't affect renters as the furnace fights against this, but my goodness I can't imagine the energy costs.
In conclusion, we would absolutely stay here again and look forward to doing so. We know what to expect.

great place to stay, We had a blast! We are definitely going to book this place again. Great location.

The property was nice and Merry. There were a lot of towels, blankets to keep us warm. The kitchen was stacked with all of the essentials and more. The living room has lots of space for kids to bounce around or sit and enjoy a movie of the group of 6-8. The house is very warm, the fireplace works so does the heater.
We really enjoyed our New Year's celebration stay which was full of cooking, baking cooking and staying indoors watching Harry Potter.
We are thinking to come back and visit during Summer.
