Welcome to the Lava Cottage! Our cozy home has been recently refreshed to provide you with a comfortable retreat after a day of enjoying all the fun and charm of Lava Hot Springs.
Step into the cottage and be greeted by a living room full of natural light and walls adorned with pictures of historic Lava. Each bedroom had been thoughtfully laid out to provide a comfortable place to rest, complete with high end bedding and USB charging stations on each alarm clock.
The fun, vintage kitchen will make you feel as though you stepped back in time while the large window is the perfect place to gaze out and enjoy the moment.

This was our first time staying in Lava Hot Springs, and we couldn't have picked a better spot! We loved that everything was within walking distance. The house was stocked with a great selection of games which we definitely took advantage of! The beds and couches were comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with a variety of dishes and cookware. The host was fantastic to work with. We would definitely stay here again!

This cottage was perfect for our stay up in Lava. It was spacious enough for our larger group and within walking distance from downtown Main Street. The price per night is a great deal compared to some of the very small, run down one bedrooms in Lava. I love the backyard set up with chairs to hang out in. The kitchen could have been a little cleaner. The drawers where the cooking utensils were kept had crumbs and no trays to hold try e utensils. The temperature of the fridge was turned to 1 when we got there. We had coolers packed with tons of food we needed to get into the cold fridge and the fridge was not cold at all. I realized a few hours later how warm the food was and was worried about it not being good. Took a long time for the fridge to get cold once I turned the dial to the recommended temp. Maybe it got bumped accidentally but hopefully it didn’t get turned down on purpose. Other than that it was a fun place to stay.

Third time we’ve stayed at this property. The location is great, are able to park the car and leave for the entire stay. Walk to the pool and hot pools, and of course a stop at the ice cream shop. Only 1 small bathroom, so we would generally shower at the pools. Nice small yard with fire pit. Would recommend and will probably be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and inviting. The location was great. The Greystone Manor was just across the street, and we had a wonderful dinner there. Walk to hot springs was about 10 minutes. Great place to stay in Lava.

This place was perfect for our group! Within walking distance of almost anything you want to do. We loved the backyard fire pit and the picnic table. The owner has done so much work with curb appeal making it very attractive inside and out. The inside was clean, we had all amenities we needed plus games and a nice big screen TV. The beds were all very comfortable with nice bedding. We loved all of the local historic touches in the home as well. It was very relaxing and cozy. We will return to this place!!

The Lava Cottage worked out wonderfully for our family. The house is very inviting. The beds are super comfy and the bedding is very nice. All of the little details are covered from extra fans in the bedrooms, family games, pool towels, to having the spice you forgot, right there in the cupboard. Perfect for a little family get-away!

This is the second year we have stayed in this house. It is very accommodating, walking distance to everything and quiet. I would only recommend that you take your own coffee maker, the one in the house only works part of the time and we actually had coffee grounds explode all over the kitchen twice and only water was dispensed on more than one occasion. Other than that, great time had by all

Second stay at this property. Great location, walking distance to pool and hot pools. Nice backyard with picnic table and fire pit. Kitchen well equipped, but would be nice to have kids dishes. Only 1 bathroom and small, but made it work by mainly showering at the pools

Great location not far from main street. We loved the beds and the kitchen had all the cookware we needed. The fireplace was nice, and we loved playing a couple of the games. Overall a great trip!

Bigger then we thought it would be. Bed's were comfortable (but both the bed's and floor's squick). Shower had water pressure. We also enjoyed the yard firepit and the grill.

Love the property especially the location. A few suggestions: Kitchen sink does not drain. Toilet ran and had to be fixed a couple of times. Dressers would be great.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights with our boys. It was a fun place to hangout and relax before or after soaking in the hot springs. The only issue we had with the property was the squeaky floors. Putting the baby to bed was harder because of the noise. If you don't have an infant though, I wouldn't have noticed them.

This property is located close to town. It is a cute older house with lots of great character. It is very warm and cozy and the property owner is very easy to talk with. The only hard thing was the bath tub. It is an older home and so it was a little difficult for my 80 year old father to get in and out of it and stand up because it slops to the center. Everything else was great and perfect. I would stay here again.

Charming cottage for a Lava Hot Springs family getaway. It was clean and the property owner communicated everything very clearly. Easy parking and a nice yard area with charcoal grill and fire pit. Walking distance to main recreational street/area. Expect creeks in the floor and antiquated plumbing but c’mon, it’s a 100 year old structure and adds to the charm.

This is our new favorite place to stay in Lava Hot Springs. We loved the feel of the house, and we loved the spacious rooms and kitchen. Loved the original features in this historic home and how it’s been kept up. The old floors are squeaky and there are some quirks to the home, but we loved everything about it. Great location to town, loved the little details the owners paid attention to. The kitchen was well stocked, only thing we could have used that wasn’t there was a cookie sheet and we used the kitchen a fair amount. Nice private yard, walkable to everything in town. Just so many pros to this house. Comfortable beds, comfortable couches in the family room and overall good hangout space. Loved the history of the town that’s in the house, a really cool touch. We’d love to stay here again.

It was nice, we liked the location and the layout of the house. Was very nice to have a full kitchen. (Pots, pans, dishes, etc.) could use some work on the Elm street entrance. Walk way is dangerously heaved. But overall, a great place to stay. It become my rental of choice.

Cute little home with comfortable beds and appreciated the work they have done to maintain this historic home. Would be good if they could fix the squeaky floors and the toilet. It frequently didn’t turn off. The lawn also needed attention.

The house was perfect for our ladies trip to Lava. The beds we extra comfy and there was lots of room for group dinners and to be lazy on the sofa. The walk to town was close and the yard was great to hang out in. My only negative comment is on the coffee maker, there was a kerug which makes one cup at a time, this was a little frustrating for a group since we had to wait our turn to make a cup. Would have loved just a regular ole coffee maker.

We have been traveling to Lava each year for the last 17 years for a girls trip. One thing that is always difficult is getting to the house and realizing that you do not have what you need for the weekend. This was one of the best stocked homes that we have stayed in. Every time we needed something, it was just a few drawers or cupboards over. The book was also extremely clear and was very helpful. We really enjoyed the history of Lava that was throughout the house. The rooms are a great size and a full length mirror is included in each room, which is a huge plus for a girls weekend. We were sad that we would not be there longer so that we could enjoy the yard more. The fire pit in the back looked very cozy. The only negative of the home is the walk back up the hill from down town. However, we were all able to meet our step goals and decided that the hill was actually a positive as well. Great Place! It is so welcoming that you will feel right at home.
