Great location and lovely staff who go above and beyond

the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful - they were amazing. The hotel is really lovely and a very short walk from the town centre and very close to a 24 hour car park. Our room was quite small but really comfortable with everything you would need. Friends had a huge room on the top floor. it's a bit of a maze finding rooms!

Only issue was the nightclub opposite which was pretty noisy in the early hours of the morning - the hotel have put in double glazing and air conditioning in the rooms so you can't open the windows- that did help with the noise but it's also nice to try to get some fresh air into the room. I found ear plugs drowned out the noise so it wasn't so much of an issue

Sehr freundliches Personal, eigener Parkplatz. Ein paar Gehminuten vom Zentrum. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Obwohl direkt an der Strasse gelegen ist es sehr ruhig.

Overpriced but close to the centre

Perfect location close to the centre of town, easy to walk everywhere. Clean.

I will start by saying that typically we would only review places that we loved, but perhaps this will help someone… Loads and loads of corridors with staircases and no elevator; very draining to get to room with luggages. Small room, with a TV on a very weird location close to the floor (it looks like its been put there just to say there was a TV, without any intention for it to get used. Small window facing a set of aircons. As it’s an old building with a tiny window the room would get quite stuffy very quickly. Not worth 125gbp a night. We would probably pay around 80.

Very comfortable and friendly hotel perfectly located in the centre of this beautiful town.

Very central location in Salisbury Town Centre; decor is fresh and well maintained; staff in reception and bar were very friendly, welcoming and helpful; Good VFM; Room and Bathroom were very comfortable. Great little find.

Lovely friendly hotel

The upgrade was a nice touch for an extra £10. The room was a good size, comfortable, good air con/heating if a little noisy. Friendly, helpful receptionists. Free parking. Decent breakfast served by lovely staff and chef! Great location for exploring Salisbury.

No coffee machine in the room. The bar not open past 11pm for a drink.

Convenient stay, decent value for money.

Enjoyed Salisbury, but no the overnight accomodation.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. Only used the hotel as an overnight base so did not use any of the hotels other facilities. Salisbury is a lovely city and well worth the visit.

Shortly before I was to leave for the hotel I was offered an 'upgrade' to their Lord Nelson feature room which I accepted. On arrival I found that there was a constant and intrusive deep humming noise in the room, even when the air-conditioning unit in the room was switched off. Subsequent investigation revealed the problem. The small sitting area in the room was an extension from the main hotel with a flat roof, and on this flat roof were seated at least four other functioning air-conditioning units from rooms on the ground floor. The noise from those units went staight through the flat roof into our room. Equally throughout the night there was a noise as if a heavy object had been dropped on a hard surface and then bounced twice in quick succession, sometimes seconds apart, sometimes every few minutes. What it was I don't know but I had a very disturbed night. People using this room need to be heavy sleepers or bring ear plugs.

Great location

The location was excellent. The property has lots of character and the bar is handy.

The bathroom was a bit dated in comparison to the room. It was perfectly clean though and reasonable given the price paid.

Lovely short winter break .

Lovely comfortable bar and plenty of choices of drinks. Our bed was very comfortable with nice pillows . The room was very clean and we had daily housekeeping.

There was no chest of drawers or wardrobe in our room , only a rail with some hangers , so we couldn’t unpack, which was alright for three nights but no longer . We had to put our case in front of the desk as there was nowhere to store it.

Central hotel, okay for a short stay

The full English was very good, with eggs cooked to order, and the breakfast staff extremely kind and attentive. We appreciated the free whisky offered as part of a loyalty scheme.

Upon arrival, all the guests (plus luggage) had to queue in the cramped lobby to check in - which was only possible from 3 p.m. onwards - whereas surely some rooms would have been ready before then. The same staff member who initially sent us away and told us to come back at 3 p.m. manned reception and the bar, so we were not able to have a drink from the bar while we waited either. It later turned out that one of the receptionists had given us inaccurate information on the parking restrictions in front of the hotel. The parking was limited - not enough spaces for the number of guests cars. I received an email and multiple chase-up emails badgering me to upgrade my room, even after replying that this was not appropriate as I was travelling for a funeral. The room was cramped too, with barely enough space to position our luggage out of the way of the patio door.

Great stay in superb location we will be back!

Comfy bed .Very friendly helpful staff. Good facilities. We loved the bar/breakfast area in particular.

I would have preferred a shower rather than a shower bath but that's personal preference. The bathroom we had was excellent in every other respect and spotlessly clean
