About this house rental
Blue Horizons was built by a local builder in 2017 on the edge of Weymouth and has show stopping panoramic views that stretch from Lulworth to Portland and beyond. This stunning house offers all you need for a comfortable stay by the sea in Dorset. We fell in love with it before it was even finished, for us it was the large first floor veranda with wrap around glass balustrade giving us totally uninterrupted views of Portland and its huge harbour. A fabulous place to watch sailing and kite surfing, with a coffee or glass of wine in hand, depending on time of day!! The rest of the house, although fabulous, was almost insignificant! That said, it has a very large, light, fully fitted kitchen diner with dishwasher, wine fridge, washing machine/drier, microwave, coffee maker etc. Patio doors lead to an all glass garden room with a comfy sofa, and the garden. Another set of patio doors take you straight to the garden. The sitting room is a great place to relax and catch up with reading or favourite TV shows, or wander through the patio doors out to the terrace. There is also a downstairs cloakroom.
On the first floor there are two en suite bedrooms, the master bedroom with king-size bed, smart TV, black out blinds, a balcony overlooking the sea with two chairs and small table for morning coffee.
Bedroom No.2 can be made up as a king-size bed or two singles. Also on the first floor is the fabulous veranda with sofa and two armchairs, (comfy cushions available in cushion box) and this is accessed from the landing.
The garden also overlooks the sea, which is less than 50 metres away, and has plenty of garden furniture and a charcoal kettle BBQ. Smallmouth Bay (as shown in photographs) is about 300 metres away and close to this is an area which is great for windsurfers, kite surfers etc. There is a paddle board school/hire next to a cocktail bar/restaurant on the beach. Not a bad life in sunny Weymouth!
All government guidance will be adhered to with regard to cleaning and sanitation. So sorry but as this is a new property we do not accept dogs, but we have a beach front property in Porthtowan, Cornwall called "Surfsounds" (ref. 8032348) where we do.

Blue Horizons is a beautifully designed and well-furnished house with sea views to die for! I am very elderly and travelled with my two mature daughters. The house had everything you could need but, as our week was quite hot, maybe the addition of a fan or two would be welcomed if you feel the heat, although we closed all curtains whilst out during the day, which worked quite well, plus the garden and balconies were quite breezy. There is are so many lovely places to visit and good 'eateries' in the area too.
We hope to return to Blue Horizons and would happily recommend it to anyone.

Spacious and clean with incredible views. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Promises a lot and delivers more. A pleasant walk into Weymouth and close to Portland. We hope to be back.

The property is excellent it is as described in the listing. really close to Portland Bay, we had a great time, even staying in and using the balcony a couple of times to just relax and chill out.

A beautiful clean home which provided everything necessary for a lovely stay. The location was well served with public buses to connecting attractions. The views across the harbour to Portland gave such entrainment. Provided optics ensured nothing was missed!!!!. If a keen cyclist, you may find the routes limited and restricted to shared pathways or roads. Walks from the property are via the cycle /foot path and causeway across to Portland however the coastal path is within striking distance.

Excellent quiet location with good access to local amenities. There is a nice walking and biking trail for some exercise when not simply relaxing in the garden or on the deck with its unbeatable panoramic view of the harbor. The home is immaculate and well equipped for self-catering. The owners were exceptionally informative and thoughtful.

Lovely stay in well equipped house. The views are to die for and even in not so good weather there’s always something to watch in Portland harbour. Easy walks to the Crab House and Billy Winters restaurants, both excellent.
Lots to do in the area. We hope to be back soon.

Holiday home with a view (and a half!)
Just one word is needed to sum up our week - WOW. From initial communication with Gilly (the owner), arriving at a spotless, home with so much thought having been giving to the guest experience, one glance out of the back of the property and you are blown away by the view. Panoramic and dynamic sea views - we loved spending time on the verandah in the sunshine ☀️, watching the boats and water sports with the thoughtfully provided binoculars. We loved the rugged feel of the local coastline and enjoyed the diversity of scenery, climbing to the top of Portland hill is an experience not to miss. We will be back ……

A lovely welcome pack started us off on our holiday, but, there were also many useful items supplied so that we didn't have to rush out to the shops - we were able just to unpack & relax, no matter what the weather was like outside.
There were several seating areas outside - on the upstairs balconies & also in the garden below ... all with fabulous panoramic views of the Portland marina, where you can watch numerous water activities.
It is well located for lovely walks & close to fantastic places to eat.

We had a lovely time. The house is lovely with great sea views. The owners were really nice and very helpful too. Only thing to bear in mind is that there’s not a great deal in the immediate area in terms of food and drink: requires a walk or the bus (or high runs every 10 mins). Very much recommended.

We were so lucky this property was available after the easing of a very long lockdown.
We were so ready for this holiday and on arrival it did not disappoint. There was a basket of goodies for the adults and an Easter basket of chocolate for the kids.
The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped with everything we needed.
The location was fabulous, straight out the front door and we were all on our scooters on the Rodwell trail which took us to Billy Winters Cafe or Chesil Beach cafe. The perfect distance for scooting with two young children.
The best part about this property are the views. There is so much to see from the property. We had to drag ourselves away from them every day. We would have happily stayed sitting in the sunshine watching the birds, boats, kite surfers, yachts, cruise liners, paddle boarders. We were so lucky with the weather, but even in wetter, cloudier weather the views would still be amazing.
There are many different outside seating areas to enjoy the views from.
Great communication with the owners who were always very quick to respond to our messages and always helpful.
We were sad to leave Blue Horizons and really hope to return someday.

The house is beautifully decorated a d the owner had taken the trouble to add lots of Christmasy touches to give that festive feeling. The thoughtfulness even extended to providing hot water bottles.
Never before have we stayed in a house with more than enough crockery and glassware.
Because of Covid we didn’t eat out, but the kitchen was practical and well-equipped. Importantly, the beds were comfortable too.
The views were amazing, and one could walk from the property or take an easy drive for other lovely walks.

A perfect break away by the sea
We had a wonderful holiday and from the second we walked through the front door we were already thinking about when we could come back. The house was everything we had hoped for and more. The cycle path in front of the property made for an easy cycle into Weymouth too. Would highly recommend and hope to be back soon!

Perfect location, beautifully appointed clean comfortable house with views from both storeys over Portland bay. Fascinated by comings and goings of redundant cruise ships. Only sorry that weather (a lot of weather!) meant we couldn’t enjoy the extensive outdoor areas!
