About this house rental
Our house has three bedrooms, one on the main floor and two upstairs. There are a total of 2 bathrooms. There is a full kitchen, large eating area, and a main floor family room. The entire place is decorated in a Hunting Lodge motif. You will feel comfortable in this relaxed environment.
As mentioned in the title, we are walking distance to Old Town restaurants and bars and also close to Intrust Arena. We are equally close to St. Francis and Wesley Hospitals and an easy drive to Wichita State University.
There are two other apartments on the premises that have their own access and entrance. Your space, however, is totally your own.
We look forward to having you as our guest!

Adequate for our needs. Host was very accommodating. House was clean and beds were comfortable. House was dated but didn’t expect it to be any different. Comfortable walking distance to Old Town.

We moved our daughter into Friends university and this home was conveniently located minutes from the university. It was actually convenient to everything we did that weekend. Blocks away from great food and entertainment. The house was well prepared for guests and comfortable to relax in between moving her in and exploring the area. We will definitely be back for our visits with her.

The host responded when we need just about anything. We did find some bugs and he came and sprayed. He was very helpful and attentive. However, shelves in the kitchen were dirty and the entire facility needed a deep clean. We probably won’t be back overall. It was a good day. The host was attentive to our needs and we appreciate that. It’s an older house. There are apartments that are in the upstairs back end of the building, which we were not aware of. He did also open up an additional room for us, which gave us additional room and it listed a game room which evidently does not exist.

This was our experience while we stayed here. The AC control wasn't given to us on the first day. After asking the owner about the AC on day two, he gave us control. On the third day, the AC went out due to being frozen, but the owner let us stay in another section of the rental property to alleviate the heat, which was very kind.
On the first night, Thursday, nothing eventful happened. On the second night, Friday, a woman knocked on the door around 10 or 11pm, leaned up against the door for about 5 minutes, then knocked again. She then walked across the street in a hunched over position and talked to someone in a vehicle, then sat on the sidewalk near the house for 15 minutes or so, then left to another street. The third night, Saturday, a man knocked a couple time on the door at 1:30 in the morning. You can hear through the front window of the house, which is near the front door, and I heard him say "I'm going to unload on someone on this block" as he walked off the porch.
The house is quite a bit older than it looks in the photos.
Also, the description reads that there is a futon, which is supposed to be a couch that turns into a bed, however, the futon here, is just a couch. It is the couch in the photo of the living area.

We were looking for a space that was centrally located for family who lives in the Wichita area, that could comfortably sleep my family and my sister's family (6 total), as well as host a Thanksgiving dinner for over 16 people. This place was perfect. It had 4 bedrooms, 2 dens with comfy couches/lounge chairs and tvs, 2 full kitchens, 2 dining tables and 3 bathrooms, so there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out.
The furnace worked great, for a large house it was surprisingly comfortable. The water was hot for showers and dishes, everything was clean and well stocked. We didn't have to ask for anything.
The dart board and foos table were the highlight of Thanksgiving, and we had a fun tournament.
The host was wonderful and responsive to all inquiries. We had a small mishap with a dish that was provided by the VRBO, and he was very gracious about the incident and did not require any extra payment or replacement.
There was a snowstorm the night before we had to leave, and the host shoveled the walkway before we were set to pack up and leave.
Overall, we were all very pleased with this home and host, and if we are in the area again, we will be requesting to stay here. Highly recommend.

The property is very spacious. The host is very accommodating to any issue that may arise. We only had 2 issues and they were there within a half hour and fixed them. Should we come this way again, I would stay there. We had a great time.

We went there for a Father’s Day golf weekend. The place was perfect for the four of us. Close to old town restaurants. Nice lounging area where we relaxed after our round of golf to sit and watch the US Open.
Just one minor detail - Stove was missing a burner.
But all in all it was great to stay!

We travel with dogs, which is the biggest reason we chose this place for our stay. As it turns out, the "yard" is shared with another apartment tenant who also has a dog. Not ideal for what we were looking for. The landlord lives two doors down, so you're definitely being watched the entire time you're there. I personally don't like being confronted in the front yard immediately upon arrival. He was quick to respond to texts, so I'll give him that. The house itself was dirty, like it had not been cleaned in a while. Plaster was falling off the ceiling in two bedrooms, directly above the beds - a definite safety issue The whole house smells musty. I get it, it's an old house, but not my cup of tea. We rented this house for 4 nights, but left to find another rental after being here for 30 minutes. So in this case, we did not use what we paid for.

This is a great property for a family, especially a larger family to stay. We enjoyed the cabin feel and the layout is wonderful. The rec area, living, and dining area are open and it is great for entertaining. We would stay here again!

This was the perfect space to stay in town for a family gathering. A few families from out of town stayed together and this house accommodated our needs well. The game room was perfect for a little friendly competition!

The property is great! So much space. We had 12 people in there at one time and still had plenty of space! Gary was so sweet and checked on us in the middle of our stay! We made great memories for this Christmas and look forward to renting it again in the future!

We came with friends for a short weekend. It was a perfect location, great price and very comfortable. Lots of room nicely decorated and very clean. A tad noisy wish the street near by and a railroad line in close proximity but otherwise great.

Gary is a great host. He was there when we pulled up to check in and gave us a proper tour. When I asked for anything he was there. He even recommended a mechanic for my vehicle A/C repair and they did a great job. The house is huge! There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. The ping pong table, foosball table, and dart board kept the kids busy for hours. The kitchen had pretty much everything you would need, and I cook a lot. The kitchen is also huge compared to my own. The coffee was a much appreciated extra! The house could use a deep clean because it was a bit dusty. My only real complaint although it was completely out of our hosts hands, would be the gunshots that I heard at around 1:50 a.m. on the first night we stayed there. Thanks to God none of us were hurt, but it still scared me to death. The rest of the time we were there we had no problems. We think it was at a party I few houses down. Gary said they never had any issues before so we stayed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this home for a family vacation. We found lots to do around also. We went to an escape room, exploration center, and a small water park. All were fun. Thanks Gary!

We were very happy with our stay and loved the recreation available at the VRBO. It worked really well with having kids and was so much nicer than staying at a hotel. The owner was very friendly and kept us well informed. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Wichita Old Town Wedding
Property is exactly as described. Is very spacious - we loved the game room and dining room for gathering. Location was good for proximity to any activity in the Old Town area. Communication with owner was excellent, Gary went above and beyond and made sure we had everything that was needed. It’s not a 5 star resort - and never claimed to be - but is a great spot for a group/family staying in the area.

Great GetAway
Lots of space for the 5 of us friends to re-connect after 25 years! We walked to Old Town for dinner and drinks each night so the location was convenient.

Fun Place
The listing for this house doesn't do it justice. It looks much smaller in pictures, but is actually really spacious with plenty of fun to entertain any group.
It's an older house that has had some updates, but still needs a little love here and there. The place was pretty clean, except for the floors. Our daughter ran around barefoot initially, until we noticed the soles of her feet were black.
There are lots of loud motorcycles and other vehicles. That was really the only downside to this location. If we hadn't had our 4 year old, that wouldn't have been a big deal. But since most of it seemed to be at night, it was tough for her to sleep through it all, even with a sound machine.
Overall this house was great. We were close to everything we needed to get to. I would absolutey recommend this house for adults or families with kids that sleep very soundly.

A great stay! Highly recommend!
The owner is great! Arrived to the area much earlier than expected and he allowed us to check in a few hours ahead. The property is great size and had only one tv which allowed for the family to get together for watching a movie. Home is in a great area.

The Brickhouse Lodge is a lovely place for a respite. Great area to walk to Old Town. Easy drive to visit family near by. Good food, brews and all around places to go see. Will stay again next time in Wichita.
