Filthy, inadequate, unacceptable for any price

The room is spacious. This is pretty much all it has going for it.

The room was dirty (and not ready on arrival, though I arrived within check-in window). The pillows were lumpy and thin. No towel was provided and when I asked, I was wordlessly thrust a bath mat. I was told on arrival that the television was not working; if this problem was known in advance a refund should have been arranged. The walls are paper thin. The area feels unsafe.

What you see in the pictures is not what you get. Actually, it's an old lady renting out two rooms in her private home. The rooms are really run down and shaby, somewhat smelly. The pictures of the place are misleading. Worst of all, the matresses are in such a bad condition that it's absolutely incomfortable to sleep there (other people have also referred to that in their reviews); as well as the fact that you share someone's private space without feeling welcome. Also, due to what I've experienced I've gained a strong impression that the owner is not very trustworthy. The only reason I did not leave earlier is because I knew I wouldn't get my money back. A scaffold instead of the garden view mentioned in the description, with workers standing right outside the window next to your bed, hammering and drilling about noisily from early morning on. This might be temporarily going on only for some weeks or rather months - but there was no indication as to that when booking the room, nor a discount. I really think this place shouldn't even be allowed to be listed on Booking and will file a formal complaint.

excellent value, great location, lovely host, but a VERY basic room.

no breakfast, great location near Clapton village for food etc

it was very basic and dated. Also, no additional toilet rolls in the bathroom just in case.

Basic, functional, very clean, good value

Location was fine. They could have made more of the availability of car parking. This was a good value package - clean room, clean shared bathroom, no frills.

I struggled to open the window in the bedroom.

worst experience

First of she went to my room , when i was out, without my permission. And secondly my friend just came to pick me up and its was very cold out thats why i ask her that i’ll get ready in while so that my friend can take me out. She was bieng rude and miss behaving to my guest.But most scariest was when she open the room without my permission i was not feeling safe anymore.. and thats why i paid for two day and i left on the first day.. plus wifi in room is very slow, and it was freezing cold and she will only turn the heater on in morning and evening only may be 20 min thats it. Even if u r freezing she wont turn it on at any cost.. and last thing that her checkin time is 5 o’clock ..

Comfortable bedroom with TV in a private home

Bedroom is good for the price. Use of family's kitchen downstairs. Lovely host.

Perfect for a solo traveller who parties outside but comes back not too late. (It’s a homestay with a family not a hoste

A superb location and very quiet surroundings. A host lady was very kind and helpful. The best part was a super comfortable bed. I slept so well in this bed for the whole stay (I am a very sensitive person in general). You’re allowed to put your food in the fridge and there’s a kettle for making coffee and tea. I used my own shampoo and soap but I borrowed towel and hair dryer from the owner.

I had no problem with this homestay accommodation as I have some experiences earlier. But if you’re looking for a place where you could socialise with new people, go for a hostel stay.

1. The location was great for my purposes 2. The host was pleasant and tried to be helpful

1. The address did not include the road name which would have made it easier to find. 2. The bedroom did not include a bedside lamp which was inconvenient 3. The bedroom door was difficult to open and close due to being swollen 4. The bedroom window would not open. 5. I was advised not to lock the 'shared' bathroom door because the lock had a tendency to get stuck and become difficult to open. 6. The decor was 'very' tired 7. Breakfast was not included
