We loved staying in this house! It is an old train station transformed into a fabulous airbnb. The hosts were the best hosts I've ever had. Would totally stay here again

We absolutely loved our stay at the Station House! Susan was a wonderful host. She checked in periodically and let us know that she was available if we needed anything. I had mentioned that my partner and I were celebrating my birthday and there was even a birthday cake and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we got there. The house was charming and immaculate. It was clear that they spent lots of time and attention to making sure everything was sanitized and cleaned thoroughly which made traveling during these times worry free. The Gilford/Laconia area itself is super cute and there's lots to do. We went to the beach, ate yummy seafood and got to go to a drive-in movie. The fire-pit + s'mores fix-ins provided by Susan were an added bonus. Highly recommend!

Awesome location, cute cottage, roomy, comfortable & clean. Nice back yard with patio furniture to relax in.
Close to all the lakes for swimming & boating or kayaking.
Local short hikes with great vistas!
Susan is only a call away, and just up the road if we needed her. Next concert at the bank of NH pavilion, we'll be looking her up!

We found the property to be, just as advertised. Our stay was only (2) nights, to attend a concert. The location was perfect for us and our purpose.

Great property, great location, and Susan makes everything perfect. This was our second stay - won't be our last.

My husband and I came up with our dog for the weekend. She loved the fully fenced backyard! The location is fairly close to a lot of outdoor activities which was nice. Susan was very welcoming and responsive. Great experience!

The only reason I'm hesitant to leave a review is so this place stays available next time we're in town. Susan is GREAT and very responsive, she gave the option of checking in early and was on top of the one thing we brought to her attention. We'll definitely stay here again assuming it's not taken!!

We really enjoyed staying at the Station House. The decorations were great, and the home cozy and comfortable. It was clean and well stocked, and the host (Susan) was excellent at communicating. If you need anything, she is available, just contact her! It's a unique property with interesting history in a great location!

We made reservation on short notice, Susan responded right away with confirmation. We arrived after dark but Susan had left lights on for us. The house was exactly as advertised, for us the fenced back yard was a key point for our dog. We cooked a few meals here and found the kitchen well stocked, this included snacks and wine - thank you Susan.
Highly recommend this property for a central location to NH. Plenty to do and numerous stores are a short drive.

Great location to explore from! Nearby restaurants, easy short drives to towns, attractions and Gunstock. Cute railroad themed decor, modern kitchen, washer/dryer, king bed- everything you need! Host very responsive and made sure all was well. We would stay again!

We selected this property for its location and its unique charm. We were not disappointed the house was very comfortable, clean and charming. It is an older house so keep that in mind. Susan did a great job decorating it and making it feel like home. We arrived very late on Friday and Susan was nice enough to leave the lights on in the house for us so we were not struggling to check in. She checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Location is walking distance to the bank of New Hampshire Pavilion and a short drive to Gunstock Mountain which had some nice hiking trails. If we ever come back to the area we would stay here again..

We were in town for a concert at the Bank of NH Pavilion. This cottage is within walking distance so we were able to get home long before most people were getting out of the parking lot! Also, we were able to bring our dogs with us! The kitchen was well stocked and there was a very nice welcome gift for us when we got there! Close to all shops. Would definitely recommend!

Property was as stated in advertising. The owner, Susan, was very helpful in checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. At one point we contacted Susan to say the microwave was not working. She had a new microwave delivered the same day. We found out my wife had placed a towel on top that was interfering with the closing of the door. I apologized to Susan and she said it was no big deal and the new microwave could be returned.

The Station House stay was very good, especially for a first stay in the Lake Winnipesaukee area. The property was very convenient to Laconia and Meredith Bay attractions, yet quiet and cozy. The place was tidy, the yard was great for bonfire with good privacy, little road noise and a quiet neighborhood. Susan and Dutch went to lengths to be available and accommodating throughout our stay. Would definitely go back, the Station House would be a great stay summer, winter or fall! :)

Susan and Dutch are great hosts. We came here to see a concert, only a mile away. The house was quaint, clean and perfect. Would come again without question.

What a lovely property. It’s location was perfect for all of the places I wanted to visit while in NH. I love the fact that it is a historical building that has been repurposed into a cozy, inviting place to stay. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

Staying in an actual old station house was a fun way to make our train trip weekend complete! Our host was amazing, and provided everything needed for a great long weekend. There are plenty of places within 15 minutes drive to explore; shops, parks, excursions. There are also plenty of places within 5 minutes to pick up necessities. Great space for a couple:)

We stayed over a long weekend for a concert at the nearby BofNH Paviliion - so close we could walk and avoid the traffic.
House is very comfortable and charming - Susan has thought of everything you might need - and it is there. She is a wonderful host - very flexible on check-in - and very helpful with guidance on local amenities. Recommend highly - we will be back.

Terrific host, great stay!
Very Quaint old train station with all the modern amenities. Close to the lake and many attractions. Very comfortable. The hosts were A-1 and great to communicate with. They gave us many spot-on recommendations about where to go and eat.

Clean and comfortable
It has a dated charm but was very clean. The bathroom is small but has a large shower. The location was convenient to many things that we normally visit/ do when in the area each summer. Overall we enjoyed our stay and Susan checked in occasionally to see if we needed anything. Thank you Susan for being a great host.

Convenient Spot
After a hiccup with our reservation due to miscommunication through the VRBO app, the host honored what she originally offered. The location was close to our family and friends in Meredith and Gilford. We enjoyed relaxing in the backyard. The water was an issue, but it is being repaired according to the host. She and her husband are very nice and were attentive to our needs.

Terrific Host
This was our first trip to Lake Winnipesaukee, and the Station House is a wonderful location for exploring the various towns and state parks around the lake. Susan is a terrific host and really goes the extra mile to see that you are comfortable in this charming home and enjoy your stay.

Great communication and adaptability with Susan. Great location for lake, gunstock, town, and restaurants. The yard made the pup happy and allowed for some nice lounge areas and outdoor games and fire pit. Thanks Susan!

Super charming place
There is a reason this place has so many great reviews. It is really adorable, very comfortable, and in a great location. And the bed is amazingly comfortable. Hosts really go out of their way to make it a great place to be (robes, yummy treats). The backyard was great for our dog and the fire pit was so delightful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for everything!

Magical winter wonderland stay
We had an amazing trip at the Station House. The place was so cute and comfortable and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware. Susan had left us s'mores makings, wine, popcorn, hot chocolate - all much appreciated. Our golden retriever loved hopping in and out of snow in the backyard and chasing her ball. We loved getting to enjoy snow shoeing and sledding in the area on local trails and hills. At the end of the day, it was so nice to relax on the big comfy couch and get a good fire on the wood stove going and watch tv. It was exactly what we were hoping for and we hope we can come back soon.

Gilford Station, New Hampshire
Great place! Very cozy and spacious with extremely comfortable and well-appointed living room, bedroom, and kitchen-dining room areas - as shown in VRBO pictures. There's a wonderful railroad flare. Smores, Wine, and a Gift Mug were added special personal touches for our visit. The living room wood stove cast a warming glow on the Fall evenings during our stay. The expansive backyard is fenced and our terrier loved romping. Seating, a hammock, and a fire pit in the backyard added to our overall enjoyment of this property.

Wonderful Stay
We stayed at the charming Station House for five nights in mid-September. It is a gem of a place. The location is perfect for anything that might bring you to the area – Lake Winni, Laconia, foliage, a concert at the Pavilion, or just general relaxation and a change of scenery.
The house was absolutely spotless upon arrival—especially important during COVID times. The hosts Susan and Dutch were fantastic. They had a great guide on the history of the house, as well as the nuts and bolts of what we needed to know while staying there. Susan checked in via text a few times during our stay to make sure all was well, which we appreciated. There were ample cleaning supplies and household conveniences (coffee, creamer, chip clips)—the little things that make all the difference when you’re away from home.
The fenced-in yard was fantastic for our dogs, and we really enjoyed all the outdoor amenities – firepit and firewood, yard games, a small grill, a hammock. Our hosts left us fixings for s’mores, which was so thoughtful (and delicious).
The décor gave a nod to the building’s railroad history, which was fun touch. It is an old house with a storied past, so it did have its quirks (uneven floors, quirky water pressure). The home was newly renovated and furnished this year, so everything was clean and comfortable. Wifi and Roku kept us in touch with the outside world when we needed it.
If you’re looking for a clean, homey spot to spend some time in NH, this is a great place to pick. Thank you, Susan and Dutch, for a great vacation!
