About this house rental

Just steps from historic Crawford Square and a short stroll to vibrant River Street, Andrew’s Townhouse puts you at the center of Savannah’s celebrated Landmark District. The 1872 home’s new owner has repurposed the historic property into a comfortable and tastefully furnished abode for Savannah’s visitors. Carefully appointed and freshly painted, Andrew’s Townhouse embodies the essence and characteristics of today’s Hostess City properties: history, comfort, elegance and location. We operate with enhanced cleaning procedures and flexible policies.
Victorian-era architecture and a bright red door welcome you to Andrew’s Townhouse. Inside, the high ceilings trimmed in gold paint are breathtaking. The foyer opens to a spacious double parlor, now the living and dining areas, which are furnished for function and aesthetics -- a pleasing mix of traditional and contemporary pieces. The décor is simple yet engaging, enhancing the many fine original details of this nearly 150-year-old home. High ceilings and chandeliers descending from ornate medallions are typical of Savannah’s historic residences. South-facing windows invite in the sun’s golden rays, illuminating the lovely patina of the original heart-pine floors. Eclectic, comfortable and understated furnishings give a nod to Southern Hospitality. (There’s even a vintage leather-topped Wurlitzer piano!)
Many fine and casual restaurants are within walking distance, but you may choose to prepare some meals or pack picnic lunches for an afternoon at Forsyth Park or Tybee Island Beach. Our kitchen is fully equipped, with a gas stove and oven, full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, pots, pans, utensils, and dishwasher -- the essentials for basic meal prep. Coffee maker, tea kettle, and electric hand mixer make fixing breakfast a breeze. Dishes, glassware and flatware are provided. Just bring your food and drink. Kroger is a five-minute drive, and Whole Foods will take you about 15 minutes. Dine inside at the period-appropriate table and chairs for six, with extras for guests, or alfresco at the café table for two on the private back deck.
Andrew’s Townhouse sleeps six in beds, and is ideal for families, friends and small groups. There is Wi-Fi throughout the house, a 30” flat screen TV in each bedroom and a 35” flat screen TV in the living room. The accommodations offer guests privacy as well as open common spaces for socializing without stepping on one another’s toes. The open double parlors enable some people to dine while others converse or relax on the super-comfy sectional. It’s a perfect combination of spaces.
We have three bedrooms. A first level bedroom features a queen bed and en suite full bath with a shower. Upstairs are two larger bedrooms – one with a queen bed, the other a king -- and a shared full bath with both shower and claw foot tub. Dry off with fresh, plush towels; shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. The king room features a charming built-in study space, ideal for planning activities, journaling or (if necessary) checking emails and texts. All beds have high-quality mattresses and bedding, and each bedroom has a roomy closet, with an extra blanket. All bedrooms have a 30” flatscreen TV.
Pack light. The full-size front-loading washer and dryer are downstairs, and laundry detergent is provided. Just be sure to bring a good pair of walking shoes. Most visitors do a lot of walking, and a lot less driving than they expect.
Park your vehicle on-site in the gated area behind the house. The parking/back area opens to a lane, so you are not pulling out into traffic. (There is no parking in the lane.) Three houses down is free parking on Liberty Street; and there is additional metered parking throughout the area. Passes may be purchased in advance from the City’s parking services office.
But outside of trips to Tybee Island, with its wonderful sandy beaches, or perhaps a drive through Ardsley Park to see the early 1900s mansions along Victory Drive, you may find you’re not using your car. Just walking a few blocks will get you to Colonial Park Cemetery, Broughton Street (the main retail-and-restaurant street), Lucas Theatre, River Street, Jepson Center for the Arts, and more. People who love to walk can basically cover the Landmark and Victorian Districts, including Forsyth Park, with ease.
Andrew's Townhouse is an ideal place to relax, experience living in an 1872 property, and take in everything Savannah has to offer. Welcome!

We loved our stay! It is very spacious. It has lots of items available that I did not expect (toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, filters, etc…) There were 6 of us & the hot water was hot for all of to shower in a row! That is a huge plus. Everything was clean & organized. Having a parking spot was AMAZING as parking is terrible in Savannah! It was a tight turn to get into the parking spot but after parking a few times it was no big deal. Perfect location! Friendly & helpful hosts! Would stay again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A group of 6 long time friends that are all turning 75 this year chose to celebrate in Savannah. This house was close to everything on our list and spacious enough for us to congregate when we wanted to stay in. The beds were comfortable-the downstairs bedroom is a bit small and needs a bedside table on both sides of the bed for sharing. Moving the toilet paper cabinet from the bath for this purpose and also the piano bench for additional suitcase room worked well. Most things were within a mile or two and we Ubered multiple times a day-the week total per person including the transfer from the airport was $60 each. The kitchen is small but well equipped. We fixed coffee and breakfast and reheated leftovers. The full sized refrigerator was useful for everyone's choice of drinks fruit and snacks-be sure to bring ziplocs, foil or wrap if you plan to cook anything requiring refrigeration. Hop On Off was a great start to get bearings. The Mercer Mansion tour was a must-we watched the movie after the tour and enjoyed seeing the rooms-the gift shop there was better than the tourist souvenirs in the shops near River Street. Lunch at Mrs. Wilkes was wonderful Southern food-getting there at 10 for an 11 seating was okay during the week. Our special meal was at the Pink House and did not disappoint-the flounder was incredible. River House was great and the HH at Sorry Charlies was the best. Ice cream at Leopolds is also a must. Highly recommend a stay here.

This property had all we needed. It was a clean and thoughtfully decorated place with ample space for us. The place had the look & feel of historic Savannah. It is centrally located which is convenient, but sometimes traffic noise is apparent - which is to be expected for the location. We would stay again if we needed to!

We spent 4 nights in this well-equipped, beautifully furnished house. The two upstairs bedrooms shared a bathroom and the downstairs bedroom had an en suite bathroom that also had a door to the living areas. The location was convenient and we easily walked to River Street and City Market. We would stay here again.

Very nice property, clean, comfortable and quality amenities/provisions. Lovely historic home in a very convenient location. I didn't move my car for 4 days and walked everywhere! We had wonderful food, great tours, and love all the peaceful squares in the city. Will definitely choose this again the next time we visit Savannah.

The house was beautiful, keeping some of it's historic components like woodwork, the staircase, floors but bathrooms and kitchen updated. It was easily within walking distance of River Street, all of the Historic District and the Shopping District, and tons of restaurants. The parking behind the house was a bonus.

Good size bedrooms and living area. Off-street parking is convenient. Great location for walking. Only complaint is street noise from busy road.
