About this house rental

What more could you look for in a beach house? This luxurious home is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The Sand Bunker is spacious enough for even the largest of families. A spacious, open floor plan between the kitchen, dining, and living rooms allow family members to stay connected, even when doing different activities.

This home boasts four bedrooms plus a daybed and four and a half baths plus an outdoor shower. Each of the four bedrooms have a private en suite. The two bedrooms on the first- floor offer a king-sized bed and a queen-sized bed. The two bedrooms on the second floor provide a king-sized bed and a bunk room. A sizable second story loft serves as a second living space, perfect for playing games at a game table. A daybed in the loft can convert to a king-sized bed, allowing for even more sleeping arrangements. Each bedroom has a smart TV.

There is a fully renovated kitchen with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances. The kitchen is stocked with all the equipment needed to whip up an elaborate homemade meal. In addition to the dining room which seats 8 to 10 people, there is a large screened-in porch equipped with a dining table and 6 chairs to bring a breath of beachy air to any meal. Additionally, a bar top as part of the island provides seating with three bar stools. A small screened-in nook off the kitchen serves as a place to watch the sun rise with a morning cup of coffee. A full- sized washer and dryer are tucked away in the laundry closet off the kitchen. Last, a powder room off the kitchen keeps the en suites private.

There is a private dock that connects the house to a channel that reaches the Intracoastal Waterway. Using this, you can fish, kayak, paddle board, jet ski, and boat at your convenience. The opportunities are truly endless! An outdoor shower located at the rear of the house allows you to wash away the sand and salty water after a fun day at the beach. A propane grill, picnic table, and hammock allow for even further enjoyment under the house. Beach toys, three bikes, umbrellas, beach chairs, wagon, and a cooler on wheels are provided in the storage room to make your stay easier.

Great spot!! We have stayed here before for that reason. Owners are very easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. The access to the renters closet and all that is in it is fabulous! We would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Welcoming to folks of all ages!

The tv in the main area was broken but the hosts were quick to assess and offer help. We had so much fun that we never missed it. We really appreciated their concern and offer to replace it.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was clean, spacious & modern, and we appreciated the beach chairs and other accessories. Lots of room for our two-family party of 7. Lovely views of the canal and a quick walk to the beautiful beach. Kristie was prompt and responsive when one issue arose. Definitely recommend!

Overall, our stay was good. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. Our only disappointment was the wear and tear of of the property. The interior is in need of a compete paint job from the walls to the baseboards. Some of our towels were also stained.

We really enjoyed the house. It had plenty of space for us to enjoy the time there. It had plenty of beds for all of us and we really liked the different balconies. The dock on the water was great too because we love to fish and just hang out. Kristi the host was very good with communication. She sent us all the information in plenty of time and answered back to any messages in adequate time. We will definitely be looking to stay here again if we come back to the area for our next annual guys fishing trip

We really enjoyed ourselves. Very nice, clean house. Plenty of room for everybody. Check in process was easy and owners communication was very prompt. Only complaint ia the teip didnt last long enough. Would definitely rent again.

This is the 25th year for our Family of 5 (now 13) staying at Sunset during Labor Day. The weather was perfect!!!!! The location was ideal! Plenty of parking. Kitchen supplies were great for all of us. Thank you for your hospitality. We will hopefully return next Labor Day.

My extended family and I rented this house for a week-long vacation, and it was great! The location speaks for itself. The house was really great and comfortable for our 5 adults and 2 kids. Our favorite things were each bedroom had its own bathroom, and the 4 porches! There were plenty of places for us to all be together, or split off and have some quiet space to ourselves. We would rent again. Kristie was a great host!

Absolutely loved our stay at this property. We've been coming to sunset beach for 12 summers now, and this was by far the cleanest home we have stayed in. Our family & family friends stayed for the week & truly loved this home. The canal and dock were peaceful and relaxing, we loved the hammock on the bottom level that overlooked the water. The beach was a short walk away and the house was stocked with a beach wagon, extra chairs, etc. Owner communicated very quickly and efficiently. Would def. recommend staying here. Do bring your own TP, paper towels, beach towels, and if you're picky about your sheets, the rental ones aren't the best ;) and the kayaks aren't included in the home rental. But the kitchen is stocked with anything you will need, the couch is super comfortable & outdoor spaces are plenty!

My extended family had a fantastic week in Sunset Beach. This was our first time visiting and we imagined owning a property here by the end of our stay. We had reserved 2 kayaks and a paddle board that were delivered before we arrived. Being right on the channel was the highlight of our stay. We enjoyed morning and evening kayaking right from the dock, so quiet and peaceful. Our favorite place during the midday sun was sitting under the house in the breezeway, the most amazing breeze with water view. We played corn hole under there as well. The beach was a doable walk and Sunset beach never felt crowed. The ocean temperature was so warm the first week of July, a huge perk as we are use to cold, crowed NJ beaches. The teens and men enjoyed evening surf fishing and several stingrays were caught, very cool. Be sure to bring toilet paper, 11 people welcomed after a 12 hr drive with one roll on the counter and all 5 bathrooms had none. Bring wash clothes, only 1 per person which required us to do daily laundry. Also need: trash bags, paper towels, dish and hand soap, dishwasher tabs, sponge. Sunset Beach is primarily residential so eating out and groceries require a 10-15 minute drive. We never minded that since it keeps the island very quiet and not busy. There were no crowds, and the few people you encounter are extremely nice. We will certainly be returning and would definitely rent this house again as it accommodated our group of 11 perfectly and is great location!

Great location in enchanted Sunset Beach NC with wonderful choices of screened and unscreened porches. Fun canal access but must provide own kayaks. Kitchen is very amply stocked for cooking. We cooked all of our meals so this was a huge plus. Some of the bathrooms were lacking toilet paper and all were lacking soap. Kitchen was not supplied with dish soap, dishwasher detergent or paper towels so you will need to bring those things. The floor was not clean as evidenced by our 2 year olds feet being black after running barefoot in the house. This I would blame on housekeeping. Hubby is tall and had a hard time finding a comfortable chair. All in all we had a wonderful stay here and would return.

We had an amazing week stay in Sunset at The Sandbunker! The property was perfect for our two families. We loved the location on the canal and short walk to the beach each day. The house was beautiful and the porches at night were our favorite! The owners communicated with us throughout the week as we had questions. We hope to stay again next year!

We stayed for a weekend for Labor Day and found the house very well stocked, clean, and conveniently located near the beach. We did not use the dock, but did use all the rooms and really liked that they all had their own bathrooms and TVs. We enjoyed using the bikes that came with the house but they were not a fav with our teenage sons. Overall we had a wonderful time at the Sandbunker.
