Shell Cottage at Cape Fear Station invites you to Bald Head Island! BHI is a unique and peaceful island accessible by a 20 minute passenger ferry or private yacht. The island has golf carts and biking as the mode of transportation. Shell Cottage is within walking/biking distance to East Beach—one of the most favored beaches on the island—Turtle Conservancy, and Mike's Bites. Shoals Club is located conveniently close with a temporary membership available with a daily/weekly pass for an additional fee. The Maritime Market (grocery) is located 8 minutes by golf cart from the house with shopping and spa available. The Marina is located 12 minutes from the house with restaurants and many activities available.

Long term rentals welcome. 1 month to 3 months available. Discounts applied.

A charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a newly added bathroom and 2nd bedroom to make your family visit more comfortable. The house has a fully equipped galley kitchen, two flat screen TV's with cable, wifi/reliable internet, beach/bath towels, and bed linens. The house is equipped with a wealth of amenities including beach chairs, boogie boards, pop up tents, beach toys, youth sports equipment, movies, books, and games.

The cottage has one 4 person golf cart provided for guest use. 4 adult bicycles and 2 kid bicycles are available for renter use (conditions vary due to beach climate).

Complimentary starter supplies of cleaning products, paper towels and bath tissue. House is professionally cleaned between each guest.

Early check in and late check out available depending on schedule. Please check with owner regarding availability of check in/out schedule. Sleeps up to 4 people. Rental insurance is required in lieu of a security deposit.

Great cottage in prime location close to beach and Shoals Club! Master bedroom is lovely and basement guest room would be great for little kids or my big teenager loved having his own little hideaway.

The listing is accurate. The host was wonderful in replying to our texts. We had a lovely time with a teen and a 5 year old. Highly recommend taking the Shoals club membership (3-5 minute ride in golf cart). If you get membership 5 days before the day you intend to use, being a guest here waives your $100 admin fee. You still need to pay the club fee (look up their site) but it was totally worth it! The house was perfect for our family of four!

Our family (with 2 teenage daughters) had a wonderful stay. The cottage was lovely and clean and had lots of essential amenities. The host was amazing with response time to any concerns. We also really enjoy the part of the island that this cottage is in.

Shell Cottage is a most-perfect retreat on BHI! The location is unbeatable (5-minute walk to the beach) and the house itself is lovely and comfortable. The golf carts and other amenities made our vacation a top-notch experience. Also, the hosts were very responsive and have put much thought and care into making their guests feel welcome. We would love to come back to BHI and would definitely stay at Shell Cottage again.

Great house and fantastic location! The only suggestions for improvement would be to provide more than one bath towel and pillow per person, and to clean out the lint trap on the dryer. It was so full that the clothes wouldn't dry until we discovered the issue and cleaned it out. Otherwise, we had a great time in this gorgeous little gem!

We very much enjoyed our stay @ Shell Cottage. This rental is very charming and just the right amount of space for our family of 4. We have been coming to BHI for over 20 years and have stayed in several rentals. We were very impressed with the smart use of space in this home! Check in and departure was very easy. The house was very clean and in the perfect location. We love being able to walk to East Beach or bike over to the Conservancy & Mike's Bites.

Loved this property and the location so close to East Beach. Truly the best side of the island! Perfect for a couple or family of 4. Well stocked beach toys and chairs. The weather was terrible but we still had a fantastic time riding around in the golf cart, playing cards and watching all the apps on the tv.

We loved this place ❤️ it was everything we needed . The one thing we would have liked to have had was an insta-pot and the golf cart needed a new cover but over all it was an awesome place ...we would definitely stay here again!

Shell Cottage was a perfect escape to ring in the New Year. The cottage was comfortable, well-appointed, and just the right amount of space for our family of 4. Great location and in the summer close to East Beach surfing, Mike’s Bites, the Conservancy, and the Shoals Club. Would definitely recommend for families with older children or two couples, and look forward to staying again.

We love Shell Cottage! We stayed for the week of Thanksgiving and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Dianne could not have been more attentive if she tried! We had some questions upon arrival and she was very prompt in replying and answering. We cooked a lovely Thanksgiving for 2 and didn’t want for a thing in the kitchen. The large master bedroom was amazing! Would definitely stay again in the future! Love the location - peaceful and quiet.

This cozy beach cottage is the perfect getaway for a small group of 3 or 4 people. The decor is lovely as is the setting. The cottage is well supplied. My husband and I highly recommend Shell Cottage.

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The home is very nicely decorated and extremely clean. The home is very close to the beach and the Shoals Club. Thank you Diane for allowing us to rent your home for a very special occasion. We had a wonderful time.

The property was absolutely perfect! Check in process was so easy, and the location was incredible, just a few minutes away from both the shoals club and the market area. The house, along with everything in it felt super clean. Although we didn’t use much of it, we noticed surf boards, board games, and several other fun items to make vacation better! Also, the upstairs bed’s mattress was SO comfortable. If you’re considering it, just go ahead and book :)

My husband & I frequent Bald Head Island! This home was by far our favorite for many reasons! 1st the location!!!! We loved being so close to the beach & the park!!!! This home had absolutely everything you could ask for! We did not have to go to the store & buy anything as far as soap, toilet paper or paper towels! What a plus!!! We were so thankful for that! We loved the layout of the home as well & the comfy king size bed! We will most definitely return!

The house was absolutely beautiful, and immaculately clean when we arrived. The check-in process was very easy. Property manager was incredibly communicative and helpful with anything that we needed. Could not have asked for a better experience or place to stay. Definitely would stay here again if we have the chance.

Our first trip to BHI exceeded expectations. The house was comfortable and beautifully furnished and decorated. Well-stocked kitchen. Nice neighborhood, close to an amazing beach. Hostess was kind and responsive. Would absolutely stay there again!
