The unit needed updating but Vacasa needs to do better at servicing and cleaning. The room was not clean when we arrived and they sent a second crew, they did additional cleaning but said they wouldnt remove the fly traps that were in the kitchen and on the deck. Not what you would expect when you are on a vacation. They told me someone would come remove the fly traps and my reported issue was escalated but no one came ever came to remove them. I was told at check out that someone would call me to review my issues but I heard nothing.

The place was nice and roomy. Views were amazing, but the beds and furniture has seen its better days.

This unit has one of the best, if not THE best location in Sea Colony East for my taste. I don't like dealing with the elevators for the upper floors so this is ideal. All amenities are right outside your door and it has a large covered patio. I'd give it 5 stars if not for the furniture. The furniture is old and in generally poor condition and I found it uncomfortable. I could not sleep on the bed in the master at all. The others were serviceable for the younger members of the party. The unit needs to be updated and although, to me, the appearance doesn't matter so much, the comfort factor is a deal breaker for me. My wife and I are in our late 50s, if you're younger with small kids you may fare better.

We would definitely book again. The location of this unit is incredible. PROs: - Location, Location, Location!! Soooo many benefits to this lower level unit. You have direct access to the pool and beach and a huuuge outdoor deck. - LOVE the huge outdoor deck and table. We ate all our meals outside. - It is a ground floor unit but I could SEE and HEAR the ocean! - I was worried about noise being on the ground floor but this wasn't an issue at all. Even on bingo night right outside our door, I couldn't hear anything indoors. - There's a closet full of beach chairs, wave riders, maybe an umbrella, etc! We didn't find this until we were leaving. Oops! - The photos show carpet in the living and dining room, but it must have been recently updated to some sort of vinyl or laminate. What a nice surprise. CONs: - VERRRRRYYYY outdated and old and as such, doesn't feel very clean. Fine for a beach condo, but ... I didn't really want to sit on the couch. I cringed bathing my kid in the tub (with no drain stopper). There was a stain on the motel-style comforter. - Not a con to the condo, but the pool doesn't open until 10am, which feels late if you have an early rising toddler! You also can't rent beach chairs or umbrellas until 10am, so I'd bring my own next time. TIPs: - The guard at the entrance didn't know to get to this unit and sent us through the parking garage and through the pool!! In fact, it is really easy to get here and you don't have to go on any stairs. Temporarily pull your car up the ramp to the main building entrance. Go THROUGH the main building lobby and the unit will be on your right.

We loved the condo and the view and the great beach access. The check- in process left us wondering where to park and where to find our condo. Our documents from the check-in desk failed to tell us. Finally, security was able to help us on both. But, paying extra fees after-the-fact for "amenities" that we didn't use left us soured. (the pool was not heated...who needs a sauna or an indoor pool in summer?) And we were especially surprised the standard Sea Colony umbrellas were not available. An angry life guard took the one we'd found in the beach shed back from us. Thank goodness we only had the one day at the beach. We would have had to drive up to Bethany's boardwalk area to rent an umbrella if we'd had more days. We were also surprised to see how dated the kitchen and bathrooms were. Both seemed to be original to the condo. The tubs were slippery and the shower doors wobbly. BUT-it was great to be right on the beach. I'm glad we usually stay in Bethany itself and would recommend other Sea Colony renters to beware.
