About this bed and breakfast
This private tiny home, Acorn Cottage, is located in historic downtown Tarpon Springs, walking distance to the world famous sponge docks, located just blocks away from breweries, restaurants, the Pinellas Trail. And the beach is only 3 mi away! The cottage offers a queen bed, Wi-Fi, Roku TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and shared use of the back yard of our 120-year-old Victorian home.
The space was fully remodeled in 2021!
The cottage is private, and the yard was designed to feel like a tropical paradise. Acorn Cottage has a private bistro set, great for having a cup of tea or coffee and enjoying the outdoors.
Acorn Cottage offers Florida beach town life at its finest. You can rent bikes nearby at Neptune's or Tarpon Tom's. You can rent kayaks or water bikes at Fred Howard. There are dolphin tours, museums, restaurants and so much more within walking distance. Or just hang out in the back yard with a beverage and unwind.
Tarpon Springs was founded in 1876 and thrived for decades on the industry of sponge diving. Now, the town has so much more to offer than sponge diving, but the rich history remains. Acorn Cottage is located downtown in a residential historical neighborhood just a few blocks from Tarpon Ave (our "Main Street"). The main home is 121 years old, and the surrounding homes are historic as well.
We chose Tarpon Springs for its walkability. If you need rides to or from the airport or anywhere else, we have a driver we would be happy to refer you to. The Jolly Trolley is a great public transportation option. There's also a 46-mi bike trail one block away, with rental bikes close by as well. The beaches are a short bike or drive away.

This property was perfect for two guests on a weekend trip.
Location was great with easy access to shopping and dining. My only complaint would be if you could possibly have a trash can for renters to use that is closer. Smallest complaint ever. LOL Thank you for allowing us to stay.

The Acorn cottage is a cute (very small) space that has everything one or two people would need for a short getaway. It’s clean and comfortable and the courtyard is beautifully landscaped and a nice place to sit and relax. It’s close to great food and fun in Tarpon Springs and the neighborhood is very quiet at night. The only downside is that it’s located next to city hall and there is currently construction going on at city hall so it’s noisy on weekdays, but that’s not a problem if you don’t plan to sleep in late. Overall it’s a great place to stay and we would definitely stay there again.

What an adorable place. Perfect for solo traveling. Place had everything you needed. Coffee facilitiess for morning. Fridge worked well. Bed very comfortable. Easy to walk to downtown or the sponge docks. Only a few blocks. Parking easy. Such a nice landscaped courtyard to sit out. Quiet and felt safe. Recommend.

The Acorn Cottage is exactly how it's listed, prefect location, we walked to dinner every night and rode our bikes to all the trails we wanted see and do. Cottage is small, but comfortable for the amount of time we were there and very clean!
Lauren, the only thing I would add if possible is a hook by the shower for your towel.

We had a wonderful stay in Tarpon Springs! It was our first visit to the area, and the Acorn Cottage was in a perfect location. The grounds are beautiful and the area very quiet. We were in walking distance to many wonderful restaurants. The cottage itself is small but very well kept. We would have appreciated a love seat instead of the table and chairs for reading or watching tv in the evening. It also would have been helpful to have some beach gear available (chairs, umbrella, towels). We would definitely consider returning to this cottage as the property is very well managed! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Overall our stay at the Acorn Cottage was very comfortable. The dwelling was clean and the new queen bed slept well. We would definitely stay again. Downtown was within walking distance with lots of options for food and drinks. Highly recommended!

One will not be disappointed, staying in this cottage❣ Very clean and a/c very cold. There is plenty of room. The bathroom/ shower is spacious & clean. The host responds to any questions in a quickness.The area is full of history and many things to do. I'm a travel nurse that works night and had no issues sleeping during the day.

Great - and safe - location and perfect for 1 or 2 people
This place is perfect! I lived in the area for most of my adult life and decided to come back for a visit. I did a lot of research to ensure I was in a good area and close to the fun. This was it. Acorn Cottage was perfect for 1 or 2 people - it is a few blocks from the Sponge Docks, downtown & Spring Bayou and only a couple miles from Sunset Beach. I highly recommend Acorn Cottage and I will definitely be booking with Lauren & Aric again!

Great Spot
I loved the Acorn, great location, less than a mile from
Publix, a four-block walk to downtown Tarpon. The courtyard was absolutely beautiful, it was such a pleasant place to have my morning coffee, and in the afternoons edit my photos and videos.

The Acorn Cottage was cozy and met our expectations. The bedding was quite comfortable as well. There were lots of rules, but I understood their purpose. That said, I was quite conscious about following them to a T as to not jeopardize my deposit. They remained on my mind continuously.

Cute place but very small
This is a cozy cabin for sure, but be aware it is very small. There is room for only one suitcase and only a hat rack to hang items on. The bed could use a new mattress. But the location is good for walking to many places and the neighborhood is quiet. Lovely patio.

Loved our stay. Extended it two days. Lovely sitting area, gated for our bikes, close to great restaurants in town and bike trail. Easy communication. Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to boaters who are in TS to get work done. A great place to hang out and access Tarpon Springs !! Thanks Lauren for your hospitality!

It was just the right size for me. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The shower was great and the bed was comfortable. I liked the refrigerator. I would stay there again.

We only needed a place to stay for a few nights. It was very well located to stores and anything you needed. Rather small place but worked for the few days we were there.

This tiny cottage was a great place to stay at. Lauren and Eric were quick to take care of anything, easy to communicate with and very pleasant. It’s a wonderful private location the feels very secure. We highly recommend this stay.
