great location near town and walking distance to town. Nice quiet neighborhood. Would recommend to anyone.

This VRBO vacation stay was absolutely wonderful as Ouray, Colorado cannot be beat in the summer. Could not ask for better views from the expansive deck. The manager was great! We had a few hiccups with the cabin and she was there for us every time. Our rating is low due to the accommodations. We decided to rename this cabin "the WONKY" cabin. The reason for this is the floors in the main part of the cabin are all wonky leaning every which way nothing was level. It made it extremely difficult to walk in the cabin literally feeling as if you were walking on a ships deck throughout the lower level. The upper level is pretty much inaccessible as the stairs are probably the steepest stairs (more like a very steep ladder) we have ever used. They did do a nice job with the upstairs rehab, but sorry to say those floors in the main part of the cabin need to be leveled for a comfortable stay. Because of it's location on Oak Street which is a by-pass for all the locals the decks get extremely dusty even though they oil the road. It would take some extra work to clean up those decks but it would have been appreciated.

we had an awesome time staying in ouray! this property was located within walking distance of main st and all the shops it has to offer. very close access to the perimeter trail that goes around town kitchen well equipped to allow us to cook a few of our meals. ample supplies and a quite comfortable setting made our mini vacay wonderful!

I was very surprised at how well laid out this old cabin was! The use of storage was extremely well thought out and it was stocked extremely well with everything needed. Its old and rustic yet doesnt smell like an old musty cabin. The creeky floors and sloped walls just add to the experience. My 2 boys 17-19) and I will be back they loved this place! Ouray is a great town to visit!

We loved this tiny old cabin. We loved the creaky floors, the walls that slant from age, and the tiny kitchen area that was fully stocked with an amazing display of efficiency. Comfy and cozy.

It is a treat to stay in a cabin that has more than 140 years of history....so close to Main St that you dont need your car much. Quiet and peaceful.

We had a Wonderfull time, the cabin was cozy and comfortable. I have a Lincoln Navigator, so the parking was a challenge, but we managed.
5.0
Great mix of a historic building with modern amenities! Walking distance to downtown and even closer to Mi Mexico (awesome food and service). Walking distance to the perimeter trail.
Just a heads up - if you have a large truck (I have a 1500 Sierra with a crew cab and standard bed) the driveway can be tough to manage. This is not a knock at all, just an FYI.
Loved it, would stay here again!

We love Ouray and we loved the Seldom Inn. It was within walking distance of everything we needed and the views from the deck were awesome. The cabin was adorable - so cool to stay in a 19th-century piece of history.

Overall stay was wonderful. Location was perfect. The only thing I would suggest is to have a laundry basket available. And the deck light was not working. It is really dark back there at night if you wanted to sit in the garden area.

My family stayed here with our two Frenchies. We loved the quirkiness of the wavy floors and the leaning wall in the bedroom. It is restored really well & makes great use of space for something that was built in the 1870’s‼️We loved walking to Main Street & to the hot springs. We even walked to the Box Canyon Falls. It is a little small in the living room area but the upstairs living area helps a lot. Would stay again‼️

Adorable, quaint and quirky cabin. Because it has been so hot when we arrived at the cabin the thermostat said 82 degrees inside. Not many windows to open and only one ceiling fan. I called the guest relations and they brought over two brand new fans. They made a world of difference. So quiet and the deck and setting was beautiful. It had plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. Be aware that the stairs to the second floor was extremely steep. My dog and my 80 year old friend could not make it up the stairs. I’m 60 along with my other friend and we had no problem getting up the stairs but going down with our bags was a challenge. It was very close to all the restaurants and shopping. Quite expensive by the time you add all the fees but I still would rent it again. Hummingbirds and bears made it special.

Cute place, “rustic” as described. Loved the location and proximity to downtown. We brought an extra fan which really helped to cool the upstairs sleeping area. Teenagers said the upstairs beds were not very comfortable, but our queen bed on the main level was comfortable and I slept well. Bathroom was well stocked with towels and appreciated the products provided. Access to the perimeter trail just down the road across from the RV campground. Only negative was that there really wasn’t space for all four of us to sit and watch TV together. Others might say “you’re in Ouray, go outside!” We spent lots of time outdoors hiking, taking in the sights, hot springs, shopping, eating at local restaurants. The vrbo even has an impressive movie selection (DVDs), but the living room couch only seats two people! So kind of impossible for a family of four to gather together. Also would have been nice to have some throw blankets in the living room for chilly mornings and evenings. It was a nice stay, but we would look for something different in the future.

Historic log cabin completely renovated with all the necessary amenities. Well stocked kitchen. Watched the fireworks on the 4th from the front deck of the house. Great week!

The FIRST THING you may want to know about this stay, is that we had a BEAR visitor, early Tuesday morning. Came directly up the stairs onto the deck while my husband was outside with his morning coffee?! So just be aware, they are nearby!
Other than this scary moment, this stay was such a delight. The location is fabulous with easy access both to the town and to the nature trails. The view out the window is gorgeous and you can hear the river from the front porch.
The kitchen is well stocked and we ate mosts of our meals in. (If you plan to cook a lot, I'd bring some ziplocks, saran wrap, foil, tupperware, these items I wish I'd had.)
Our daughter loved the upstairs to herself (but found the bedroom a little hot and slept on the couch up there where you can open the windows.) It is small but quaint and adorable and just the right size for our group of 3.
Also wanted to mention, we thought of bringing our dog, but I'm glad we didn't, (in our case, only because, I assumed there would be hardwoods or tile, but there was carpet.) But it was an incredibly dog-friendly town all the way around. We enjoyed the hiking, the train, the day trips, and the in-town shopping/food, the springs... we'd definitely return.

Excellent place to stay for a couple. Amenities were great and right in town close to restaurants, shops and natural wonders.

2 adult couples had a wonderful stay. The cabin is loaded with charm and personality. The kitchen is well
equipped and very clean and organized. The location is exceptional. Only an easy block and a half walking distance to Main Street. If you want cozy, clean, charming, with a small side of Colorado cool, this is your place!

We can’t say enough good things about the Seldom Inn. Such a fun stay! This cabin was unlike your typical rental. It is unusual, quirky, adorable, and memorable. The floors are creaky, the floor is a little uneven in places, but all of that just adds to the charm. The deck is gorgeous and you could easily sit there all day and watch the world go by. The location can’t be beat, just blocks from the quaint Main Street. We had our dog and while there isn’t a yard, the dog park is a 5 minute walk away. We ate dinner in every night and any kitchen tool one would need was provided. The upstairs loft area is cute, we just didn’t use it much since it was just two of us. It would be a dreamy haven for teenagers. Plenty of towels and a lovely remodeled bathroom. The driveway is small and steep, so just be careful if it’s icy or traveling with elderly. Highly recommend for a memorable trip!
5.0
We had a fun experience staying at the cabin. The location is great as far as being able to walk to town for shopping and dining. The cabin is small, but fit the four of us and our dog fine. However, there is no yard or fenced area for your pet, so a leashed walk is required frequently. The upstairs loft was great for my teens, but the steps to it are steep and the railings up there are not safe for small children in my opinion. The beds are super comfortable and we always got nice hot showers. The laundry room is down another flight of stairs which require you to go outside and down. I would recommend a laundry basket be provided to help get laundry down. Overall, we would stay again. The communication with property management is top notch! Ouray is absolutely beautiful!

This was such a nice visit. Built in 1879, it has beautiful beams and woodwork inside. The floors are really creaky but after a night you get used to it. The upstairs is perfect for kids that can handle steep stairs and still be a part of everything.

Reviewer Comments:
This home is in a great location that's mostly mostly quiet, but it's a historic building that's been added onto several times and is therefore a bit odd. The ladder to the loft is very steep and not easy to get up and down, and the ceiling is very low in spots. The kitchen has some nice updates. If you like character, this place definitely has it. The rental agency is very nice and responsive.

Neat little historic home in great area of Ouray. The patio was our favorite part, great to people and nature watch while having coffee or wine! Kitchen well-equipped. Morning walks w the pups on the perimeter trail. Everything in town was walkable. Beautiful views. Very doggy friendly. We would def come back!

This wonky old cabin will test your skills. The creaky floors and walls dip one way then the other. Just what you might expect in a historic cabin in the Wild West. Excellent location in town. Beautiful setting.

We loved it, especially the deck and the dishwasher. The cabin is historic and on the Ouray Perimeter Trail. Location can't be beat. The stairs to the 2nd bedroom and 1/2 bath are very steep. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you would ever need. Lots of towels!!! Close to the hot springs.

The cabin was perfect. Easy walk to town and everything you would need for a two week stay. (kitchen). Washer and dryer worked super in the Basement. The cabin is quaint and lovely. Views from the front porch of the mountains are spectacular. We have been seeing this cabin for a few years on various trips to Ouray... finally decided to rent it for stay... the floors do squeak but so do our old body's... we are in our 70's.

Stayed in Ouray for four nights in the Seldom Inn and loved it. It was a great space for our family and very convenient with its location. Loved the view of the amphitheater area at sunset, too. I have traveled to Ouray since I was a baby and love that it has maintained its charm and is not highly commercialized.
