About this house rental
Large 6 bedroom 2 bathroom walk out cabin. Located on Prairie Lake in Chetek, Wisconsin, this cabin features a large porch surrounded with windows facing the lake providing lots of natural light and wonderful views. There are two large dinning tables in the porch for enjoying meals together or a fun game night. There is also a futon on the other end of the porch for relaxing time or to sleep a couple more guests. The fully stocked kitchen walks out onto a large deck that wraps around the entire back length of the cabin providing great views and entertainment. Then walk down from the deck out to the lake onto the dock and hop on your boat, or enjoy a starry night at the bonfire that is surrounded with brand new stamped concrete. The lower level also walks you out to the lake and bonfire pit. There is plenty of privacy for all guests, as well as a number of great large gathering spaces. (The pinball machines are a bonus and are not guaranteed to work during your stay.)
Whether it is fishing, tubing, hanging out at a sandbar, or a relaxing cruise, this chain has it all including 8 restaurant/bars you can get to by boat!
Gas Grill and Blackstone available for use. We do not provide propane. If the tanks are empty, it is renters responsibility to fill for usage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin was spacious with all the bedrooms and the inside porch area with two large tables was perfect for meals and board games galore when it literally rained all day one day. It was such a nice space and the rain didn't impact our family fun at all. The outside deck is awesome too, great view of the lake with ample seating to hang out and enjoy.
A couple of modest suggestions to make a guests stay even better would be to have a dishwasher and a working island to help declutter the kitchen and filled propane tanks to take advantage of the grill and nice blackstone. Thanks for sharing your great cabin.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home! Excellent location and so spacious. Rustic modern charm! Close to everything! We also rented the pontoon during our stay and made great use of it! The host was always on top of any questions we had and wonderful to work with! We would love to come back!

My family and I have rented cabins for a week during the summer for 38 years, this was unanimously, hands down, our favorite find. Right on the water, spacious and beautiful interior and exterior made it such a fantastic vacation. The owners were wonderful to work with as well - we could not recommend this place enough!

Our trip was a blast! The place was exactly as described, clean, and easy to find. We managed to sleep 10 people comfortably for 3 nights. The owner was generous enough to allow us to use their personal pontoon which was much simpler and convenient than renting through a 3rd party. Great weekend, highly recommend staying here!

This was such a magical place. It felt like an old time cabin but with all the new amenities and a big downstairs with 4 bedrooms and a huge kitchen with plenty of room for our family. And we made great memories and wonderful times there. Our family Christmas was wonderful, thank you SO much

My family travelled to Chetek for a funeral for my father in law which was also over Thanksgiving. The house was spacious and was equipped with everything we needed to spend precious time with family. The Host is very responsive to any questions you may have also.

Eight guys are in our group thar annually gets together for a long weekend. Have been doing so for a long time but decided to try a new place more centrally located. Found this VRBO property on line and confirmed it as it’s on a beautiful lake and had multiple bedrooms that accommodated our group. It looked great on line and one even exceeded that in person. Great layout that is so much nicer and stoked with endless extras to accommodate your stay. Best fire pit area I’ve seen right next to the lake. Main floor and downstairs are beautifully done and so practice for group and family use. Pontoon boat available important to us and also well done by owners. Just a great time. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to insure where they are going exceeds the expectation you have when you get there. Owners are super to work with.

We had a beautiful, sunny week on the water! The house was great, room for everyone to be together, or have some quiet time either on the deck, basement living room, or upstairs spaces! Close to stores and shops.

This was a fantastic place to stay! Plenty of room, great view and an awesome deck to enjoy the beautiful weather we had. The owners were very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly.

This was our 2nd year staying here and we already booked for next year! Great location on the lake, house with plenty of room for everyone (10 adults and 6 kids under 11) and a huge deck to enjoy the weather. Now if only the fish would cooperate....

We have been to several different cabins over the years, and this one is at the top of the list. It was clean, had great amenities, plenty of space (loved sitting out on the deck), perfect location, and the owner was wonderful and communicative :-). Hoping to enjoy it agin in the future!

A beautiful home with a great layout, when you walk in, there’s a feeling of nostalgic history combined with a modern flare. We absolutely loved the dinning area that overlooked the lake and the home had so many amenities. Not only kids but also the adult’s loved the arcade games along with all the board games. The kitchen is huge and so many bedrooms to choose from. The home is clean with many extras incase you forget something from home. Being 2 minutes from town was great for a pizza run. It was an exceptional weekend spent with family… making memories!!
We’re returning to enjoy it in the summer, we can’t wait to sit out on the deck and down by the water at the bonfires!!

This home has plenty of room to move around and table space to eat dinner and breakfast and lunch together for a large group. Works perfect for adults and kids, each have their own space to relax.

This house was the perfect gathering spot for friends who were scattered all over Wisconsin and Minnesota. Well maintained property and the lakefront was fantastic!

As a group of 6 women, it was a great option. We could have accommodated more. The layout was great, there was plenty of eating space, and we enjoyed our time! This would also be a good option for a family with children. The lake view is marvelous. If you have a much larger group, please note there is no dishwasher and not enough dishes to feed a group bigger than about 8. There are plenty of paper plates and silverwear. We were ok with washing our dishes, but that is something to consider. There is only one shower plus a bathtub. There is enough hot water for 5 so showers and dishes would need to be staggered for a larger group. All messages were returned by the owner, the house was very clean, and we really enjoyed our time in Chetek.

It was perfect for us...we needed a place bigger for our family as we were attending our sons wedding . The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and worked well for our size of group. The beds were very comfortable! We would definitely stay here again!

Our extended family of 15 ( AGES 2-65) Stayed in your home for 5 days. The space was ideal. We made due with one shower and no dishwasher, that was not a big deal at all. The lake water was a bit on the green side, but we went out on the lake and found plenty of spots to jump in and have fun. We would stay here again if the opportunity arises. Plenty of parking for our boat trailers and other cars. Thank you for sharing your home.

Look no further
We loved it! This place has it all - anything we needed - it was there! We could see the kids playing in the water from the deck. The bonfire area is beautifully finished. We were a little worried with only having the one shower but it wasn't an issue at all. Nikki was awesome to work with. The only negative thing is someone has already booked our week for next year already.

Lakeside Cabin Perfect for Large (or Small) Gatherings
My multigenerational family (15 of us ages 88 to 16 years old) just returned from an amazing few days on the Chetek Chain of Lakes and this beautiful cabin.
Right from the start the host was easy to work with and quickly available for a few check-in questions - with plenty of parking for multiple cars and a boat trailer.
The view of the lake can't be beat, and the location so close to town for shopping and exploring was great!!
The cabin was beautiful and unique with plenty of room for all our various activities - from eating our meals together, watching old home videos on the huge big screen TVs upstairs and downstairs, big tables for game nights, a large bonfire concrete pad right by the lake, and a huge wrap around deck for plenty of space to relax and read books/watch boats whiz by on the lake.
All the rooms where nicely decorated with comfortable beds and the girl cousins enjoyed bunking up with each other downstairs (but they're college students, so they are used to that)! There was also a ton of pots, pans, bowls, etc. for cooking which was great - and a freezer/fridge upstairs & downstairs - and another wine/beverage cooler too!
A couple recommendations if you're coming with a larger group:
There is no dishwasher so you might want to bring paper plates/forks/spoons (or get those dishwasher duties assigned early)!
Bring extra TP as it's not an unlimited supply
There are only 2 bathrooms (1 shower, but I think I read they are putting in a second one this fall) so you will most likely have a few line ups for the bathroom in the morning/evenings but it wasn't a huge deal.
Bring extra camping chairs for the fit pit
That's it!! Highly recommend - and we will be back!

Awesome property!
We spent 5 days there as a friends and family vacation. The property was extremely clean and Nikki was always in close communication with us the entire time. The view was incredible from the deck and it made for a great place to congregate. We are all looking forward to our next opportunity to visit.

Had a wonderful time! The renovations of this place are beautiful! Would’ve been great to have one more shower for 16 of us, but we actually found that the showering went pretty smoothly with all of us.

Wonderful house in a great location
We spent the weekend mostly on the deck enjoying the weather or on the lake catching walleye. The fire pit was perfect to relax around at night and the kids even swam around the shore, as it is sandy, and fished off the dock.

Long Weekend Getaway
Great property and host. The house was nice and clean and had plenty of space for the 9 people that were in the group. I would book this place again if I was planning another trip to the Chetek area!!
