Great little get away in a lovely setting

Fantastic location, short walk to the town for the shops , restaurants and pubs. Property was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable and loved the little extras that Shane left for us

Great garden location with welcoming host. Great outlook and unique compact residence.

Excellent host. Lots of information. Location. Gardens lovely. Very clean and modern inside.

The wooden open tread stairs small and steep. Not good for medium/large suitcases. Not good for tall or larger bodies but this was stated on the property description so all good.

48 hours of pure bliss in a beautiful setting with an amazingly attentive and kind host :)

Everything was amazing!! Shane was a fantastic host and was helpful right from the outset when I had questions that he answered very promptly. He couldn’t do enough to be as helpful as possible. The property itself is adorable! Very well equipped and super clean. The Prosecco in the fridge was a lovely touch as well as the delicious fresh bread from the local bakery. Other essentials such as milk juice butter jam and water was also very thoughtful. Not having to pay for cleaning was an added bonus! The staircase was quirky as mentioned but no problem at all and there was a stair gate if needed. My girls are 9 and 7 and had no problems with the stairs at all. The beds were really comfy and all bedding and lined was fluffy and fresh! I needed to contact Shane a couple of times during the stay and he replied immediately and was again very helpful indeed. The gardens and ground are also amazing.

Absolutely nothing - only the fact we couldnt stay for longer!!

A little gem

Beautifully designed and immaculately clean, including bedding and bed linen. Beautiful gardens. Really quiet, mostly only the sound of the wind in the trees and the river weir in the garden, very relaxing and restorative. Shane welcomed me on arrival and showed me round. Prosecco in the fridge, chocolates, fresh bread and milk. I hope to stay again, I’d rate this higher than 10 out of 10 if I could.

Fabulous host, beautiful setting, made to feel very welcome with even a bottle of Prosecco left for us in the fridge. Riverside Lodge is a exceptionally clean, modern offering all the essentials you need and is just a stone’s throw to Fordingbridge town and the gorgeous Avon River.

Absolutely nothing to complain about stunning place.

Excellent stay, perfect and exactly what we were after

Shane was available on arrival to show us into the property and give us instructions on the facilities etc. He has very kindly left us fresh bread and milk on our arrival. He had emailed us with very clear instructions on how to find the property as well as vast information about the nearby area, places to eat, places of interest etc, which was super helpful. The property was perfect for my family of 4, a great location to explore the New Forest. We will definitely be recommending this property to friends and family. Thank you Shane!

A perfect place to explore the New Forest and South Coastline

Great communication and information from the host before and during our visit. Accommodation just as described - whilst 'quirky' the steps upstairs not an issue for us and we managed with the reduced head height upstairs around the bed. Really comfy bed ... so quiet & we slept really well for our 4 night stay. Kitchen really well equipped, welcome extras waiting for us ( bubbles and cake) and self catering basics provided and appreciated. All accommodation extremely clean and well kept/maintained. Garden is absolutely stunning and a real credit to the host ... wildlife ( deer/heron) regular visitors during our stay and such a relaxing garden to sit in. Great location so close the the town and edge of the New Forest. We had an amazing stay.

Beautiful location , perfect size accommodation

Shane made me feel so welcome on my arrival he explained all the facilities in the lodge which made it a lot easier to settle in. The location is perfect as well, if you wanted a quick trip to Salisbury it’s a very short car journey away.

It was all perfect, nothing wrong at all.

Fantastic accommodation with a relaxing atmosphere.

Lovely setting with superb maintained gardens ! Shane was very welcoming which put you at ease . The accommodation was fantastic and well thought out . Lovely and clean . The little touches of bread , milk and processco did not go unnoticed. Could not have done more for you . Definitely will return and some stage in the future.

peace and tranquility

superb hi speck property,great location. the gardens are amazing, with a stream, pond’s landscaped and woods, lots of bird song, as sunsets the ducks feed on the lawn (not sure what they are eating) and a few bats feast on the flying insects. an absolutely lovely place.

Very comfortable stay with my family. The apartment overlooks a beautiful garden with a nice private area to relax outside. The host took good care of us to ensure we had everything we need and more. Highly recommended, will definitely be visiting again!

Perfect property ( bar the stairs) and location was superb - check out the veranda and formal garden

Loved the location, the spec inside the place - the veranda and gardens were superb, Shane had thought of everything - very modern and high spec

Perfect stay - 2 mentions tho - the space saving stairs to the top floor required real concentration...and for a tall guy the eves/roof slope in the bedroom were a challenge but got used to it

Perfect. Would definitely recommended.

The property was wonderful, the interior appeared brand new and absolutely spotless, perfect for our short stay in the area. Shane the owner was impeccable only too happy to help with any queries (our last minute late check out!) and responded straight away. The house was set in an amazing landscaped garden, that many years of hard work had turned into something truly lovely and relaxing. Finally the small touches like fresh bread and bubbles when we arrived were spot on. Little things like this make a huge difference. There is a lovely Gastro pub by the river and a great family run Italian, both within 5 mins walk.

We did struggle to turn the heating on but that was likely user error!

Can’t wait to come back.

The property was so well presented, the owner thinks of everything. It was absolutely spotless and you can tell it is very well looked after. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom and shower is excellent. The grounds are absolutely stunning, we went for a walk round every morning with a cup of tea. Again, very well looked after and the pictures really don’t do them justice. Location was perfect, away from the main road but just a minute walk.

There wasn’t anything we did not like.

Great location. Everything was immaculate and high quality facilities. Very comfortable had everything we needed. Fresh bread and a bottle of Prosecco left for us on arrival. Tea coffee and milk for us to use as well. Plenty of cleaning products Available. Very accommodating. Beautiful setting. Would definitely recommend and return. Thank you so much.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting!

We loved the garden, the house was spotless and had all the mod cons you could need, the location was perfect for both Fordingbridge High street (including a lovely bakery) and the New Forest. Shane was extremely helpful and sent lots of suggestions on everything we could think to ask about.

Exceptional

Very clean and tidy place that's been well thought out for the space and finished to a high spec. Lovely garden to look out onto/walk around at the back. Great location for easy access into the New Forest + local shops in easy walking distance.

Restful, luxurious stay

Really well maintained and equipped accommodation with attention to detail. Stunning garden and terrace area. We felt very fortunate to have found Weir Cottage and hope to return soon.
