We’ll return for sure to this lovely inn.

In historic Ajijic two blocks to the central square, Meson Don Quijote oozes culture and warmth. Around 12 restaurants within 2 blocks radius, afforded opportunities to immerse in the local cuisine. Paula, the proprietor is welcoming and attentive to our needs.

Do you like fireworks?

Very friendly host Authentic Mexican home

I arrived just as the annual Festival de San Andrés began. Unfortunately, this meant the café at the hotel was closed. The Festival activities included fireworks 24 hours per day. Merchant booths blocked the streets and were actually fastened to the grill of my bedroom window. Avoid Festival time for your visit!

Great location, perfect for solo travelers

Excellent location right in town. The owner is delightful and very accommodating. It's a great value

The room is right on the street, and the antique heavy wood shutters keep out much of the noise but only if they're closed and I prefer some air at night. Since it's in town, there is going to be some noise. It's an old building and the plumbing needs to be updated. The restaurant is not particularly good

It was truly delightful!

It is very close to the plaza. The setting is very pleasant. The atmosphere and the food in the restaurant dry nice. I enjoyed my stay.

An Excellent Experience with a Wonderful Host

The room was clean and large. The king size bed was firmer than mine at home, but I slept better than I usually do. Paola was one of the nicest hosts we’ve ever met and made our stay pleasant and comfortable. Her English is excellent, so if your Spanish is minimal or nonexistent, she’s very helpful and willing to make phone calls, line up transportation, offer advice, etc. I can’t say enough about how positively we experienced our visit thanks to her. Although there is not a breakfast there, there are many excellent choices a short walk away. The location is another big advantage. It’s less than 5 minutes to the plaza and only about 10 minutes to the malecon and many nice shops. We were here during the Dia de Muertos celebration and she had decorated her patio beautifully.

Exceptional hostess....she waited until pretty much 1:30 in the morning for my arrival from the Airport. Exceptional hospitality.

A great bargain if you’re not looking for luxuries and you’ll be made to feel like family.

It’s simply a warm and welcoming homey place. No bells and whistles, but spotlessly clean and comfy. The owners are super accommodating and friendly. I didn’t have a meal there during my stay, but I’d had dinner at the restaurant a few weeks earlier. The patio is crammed with spectacular plantings, including a magnificent staghorn fern. They speak fluent English. It’s just a few blocks away from the lively Anijic Centro plaza and boutique shopping.

The mattress was on the hard side of firm. There was a very strong odor of toilet deodorizer; however, Mexican drains in the dry season are pretty pungent too.

Perfect stay for a romantic weekend in Ajijic! Comfy and close to the central plaza. The staff are lovely and we very much enjoyed out stay.

Friendly small hotel, with a great location.

Location, location, location. The owner greeted us and spoke excellent English. The hotel consists of 4 rooms and is right around the corner from the main square. The room was very clean, but basic. Included coffee maker, small fridge and a fan. The owner was very helpful with restaurant advice and obtaining a taxi's for us.

I travel with tech. The wifi was great, though there were very few electrical outlets in the room. It is an older place, so arrive with a charging tower.
