This beautiful, clean, and spacious house by the water truly lives up to its name! Plenty of common space, comfortable beds, well-supplied kitchen, balcony views of water, charming Maine decor, and provided kayaks make this an ideal vacation spot for a small family.

This was a quick few days away for me and my friend to get rejuvenated from disabled veteran husbands that require care. The property is in a very tranquill setting with georgous veiws of the ocean from most every room and space.
The property was a little hard to find as the street sign was covered by tree branches and leaves. A few of the paving stones in the beautiful stairway to the property were loose so going up and down required additional care.
It was overall a beautiful spot. I would and will definely recommend this property.

This was my second time renting this home in the hopes the water filtration system had been fixed.
Water was still not drinkable nor were we able to take showers it smelled so bad. And to boot the outside patio heater and dishwasher were broken as well.

This home is truly lovely! We cooked dinner on the gas grill, and ate on the lovely patio one night, and had lobster rolls at Holbrooks the other night. Watched sunrises and sunsets from the dock. We love Harpswell, and have stayed in many rentals over the years -- this was one of our favorites!

Things I loved: seeing the sunrise from my big comfy bed; that our pup was welcome here; the fire pit; taking the kayaks out around the island, watching the bustling fishing community, and seeing our "natural neighbors", the osprey and a heron! Improvements include: fixing loose stones on stairs as they present safety concerns; increasing the water pressure in the kitchen; and repairing dishwasher (we called for maintenance and received no follow up), .

Located near water. Fairly quiet neighborhood. Nice ocean views of fisheries harbor.

We loved this house and the location. We just wish there were blackout shades in the bedroom!
8.0 / 10.0
The location of the house, nestled in the trees, close to the water, was the best feature. The decor of the home provided that ‘Maine’ feel. The layout of the furniture was not ‘family friendly.’ Perhaps a loveseat/small sofa in front of the tv/fireplace would allow more people to sit together. Maybe have some board games/cards to play (rainy days/evenings). I strongly suggest providing directions on how to use the upstairs shower. We ended up taking lukewarm showers the first few days until we got it working properly. We gave it 4/5 stars because the downstairs shower wasn’t cleaned well (lots of hair on the floor), the coffee maker was a bit dirty and the lack of instructions to operate the upstairs shower (and the dishwasher). Overall we enjoyed our stay here and had a wonderful vacation.

Such a great place to spend an anniversary weekend! Everyone in town was super friendly and not a far drive to stores and gas stations. The view of the sunrise on the top balcony was amazing!! The entire house was amazing. Very private and quiet, with a dock to enjoy. Our dog had a great time too! Overall, wonderful stay.. would love to come back!! :)

This is a nice home but it's lacking a lot of things that would make a guest's visit so much more enjoyable. Bed listed in downstairs bedroom is listed as a queen but it's just a double. No closet or dresser in the downstairs bedroom is extremely inconvenient. Be prepared to live out of your suitcase if you have to stay in that bedroom. Also, no curtains in the bedrooms is weird and uncomfortable. Would not rebook this house and would not recommend to others.

First time I have used Vacasa. This home had many "glitches" that we made them aware of. Hopefully they are resolved for the next guests. Things I learned about this listing...you must be completely comfortable in your own skin as it is very open with little privacy. The other thing is the ocean view is from the private dock, perhaps when leaves have fallen you can see from the home but our water views were very limited. The private dock is not far and very enjoyable. The sunrise from the master suite is breathtaking. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this would be for you. For our first trip to Maine from Oregon it was not quite what I thought I was getting. I was absolutely disappointed.

We loved staying at the house - to wake up to the view of the harbor was fabulous! The house is lovely with nice space to gather for breakfast or watch a movie. Loved the ease of turning on the fireplace. The master bathroom is gorgeous!

The setting is ideal. A true working harbor with lobster boats going and coming daily. The cottage is very charming, but not without some quirks. It only has one chair to watch tv and only one chair for the upper balcony. The kitchen did not have a lobster pot, which is odd for a lobster harbor setting. Aside from those quirks, it is the perfect place to explore southern coastal Maine.

Place had so many issues! Black ants, mosquitoes & moths everywhere. Rug in living room smelled of urine, outdoor rug smelled old and moldy. Air conditioning didn’t work first night and we had issues with it on and off the whole stay. Ran out of propane before 1st week of a 2 week stay so had no use of oven for a day and place filled up with smell of gas. Had issues with outlets so had to keep checking fuses which were impossible to access due to owners having so much stuff in laundry room. 2nd bedroom advertised with Queen bed but it was a full bed too small! Mush mash of glassware, plates, pots and pans but supposed to be a gourmet kitchen. 2 windows broken upstairs that we couldn’t close. All the screens were loose so we couldn’t open windows which was the whole point of going to Maine at end of summer for the beautiful New England fresh air.
Several broken stairs in front entrance which was very dangerous! Ice machine in fridge didn’t work.
Apparently, management was aware of some of these issues in past but haven’t done anything to address.
Property manager was initially responsive but after first two dealings with him he was too busy to get on phone with us to discuss any issues. We spent $8000 for 2 weeks at this place but isn’t worth half that. We’ve stayed in Harpswell 3 times in last few years at rentals of comparable cost and this was by far the worst. Felt like owners live there. Way to many personal belongings left in house.
Very disappointed! They refunded us $500 which is a joke for the amount of problems we had.
Would not recommend!

Many steps leading to entrance with several very loose concrete blocks presented the potential for a serious fall. Great outdoor patio with grill and view. Well equipped kitchen, breakfast nook and laundry facility on first floor. The seating areas on the first floor were not particularly well arranged for 4 adults. The first floor bedroom is very small with no place to keep clothing. There are no window covering in the bedroom. Good first floor full bathroom. Both bathrooms well stocked with towels, shampoo and soap.
The second floor master suite is very spacious and comfortable, as is the smart master bath. There is a single window covering in this bedroom, not really useful given multiple windows. There are many narrow steps to reach the master bedroom.
One of the two folding chairs available to take to the dock was broken. We did not check the other one. The views, neighborhood and dock are very pleasant.
Given the way the space is allocated, the disparity of bedroom size and the stairs leading to the property as well as within the house made it less suitable for the 4 adults in our party.

location was great for us. outdoor patio area was fantastic. facilities terrific.

Sadly, we felt like we were living in someone else’s home with all of their stuff instead of a professional rental home. The house was dirty. Kitchen drawers full of owner’s food items, poorly organized cabinets that were just dirty. Kitchen faucet has VERY low water pressure making it difficult to wash dishes or clean sink. Dishwasher controls were not decipherable and the owner did not leave any instruction booklet in the unit to guide us. Owner’s personal items and clothes in every drawer of master bath and bedroom. Walls, windows and screens were filthy. There is no dresser or closet in the second room so technically a 1 bedroom unit. Downstairs bathroom doesn’t have a soap dish in shower and towel rack was broken. Laundry area (they don’t show this in the photos) houses two open shelves of disorganized, garage junk cluttering the space. Bedding was old and mismatched. Moldy, dirty rug on front patio under table and chairs. Dangerous loose stones on walkway leading to front door which is steep anyway- serious safety issue. Junk piled up on outside of house visible from inside. Odd layout which makes it difficult to have family time. Vacasa was not helpful in helping us resolve any of these concerns. I was never given instructions on when to put the garbage out despite my inquiry. I also requested a second house key, but never received one. Apparently the owner is the “professional” cleaning this house. It is not up to the standards we are used to from past experiences with rentals. Definitely not what we expected given the photos and price point. The view of the water is nice but obstructed. There were two beautiful bald eagles and an osprey couple nesting near the harbor. We will never rent a home managed by Vacasa again.

Great location, awesome views. I wasn’t aware that we were right on the water, so huge bonus. Only negatives are downstairs bedroom has no closet so no place to hang clothes. Upstairs closet is huge, not not helpful for person downstairs. Second negative is that there are very few window coverings in the house, and completely exposed in bedrooms. That was a bit uncomfortable despite not having any peeping neighbors. My sister slept on the bottom floor bedroom and was extremely nervous not having any window coverings. Lack of covering also means 5 am wake up with sunrise. Again, despite the uncovered windows and lack of closet in second bedroom, it is a fabulous house with the fanciest bathroom I have ever used in my life. Think hi tech and easy to use. You will hate a regular shower and toilet after this stay.

The house is a perfect get away retreat. It had extra touches that make it homey and yet a little modern. It was close to hiking trails, beaches, parks , lighthouses and many other things to see but they aren’t in your backyard. I would go back in a heartbeat! The only thing I didn’t like was Vacasa booking agency! I called twice and was put on hold so long I hung up. Even when I texted them back they still did not reply. I would never book with them again, but again this rental property is a delightful breath of fresh air!

We had a very restful week away. The house was clean, very comfortable, and well appointed. It was so nice to have water access and the opportunity to get out on kayaks. We loved hanging out on the deck for meals and found some great local restaurants as well. Would definitely come again!

We loved staying in this house! Everything is so well equipped for enjoyment, birdwatching, bbq, cooking, kayaking, etc. the location is lovely and the view fantastic. The host was super friendly and hospitable. We are definitely coming back here again.

Beautiful ocean views
This home is absolutely stunning and the ocean view sunrises are gorgeous. Everything you need for a fully comfortable stay has been provided for you. The upstairs master suite affords you so much space to relax and enjoy even more views of the ocean and harbor. Our party included my sister who had her own main floor bedroom and bath. The downstairs has a nice living area with TV and a separate space with a couch for sitting and reading or talking away from the TV area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to make a quick snack or a gourmet meal. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Explored more of the coastal area on several occasions. The owner was very nice and easy to talk to.

Thee Views- sunrise and sunset FABULOUS!
The community is wonderful. Great location. We took a couple of day trips to see other views of Maine's coastline and taste their lobster rolls! Goal was to have lobster everyday- check.
House was nice, clean and lit up the upstairs bedroom with daily sunrises- walking down the road at dusk showed a palet of sunset colors. We will go back- sooner than later.
Plenty of places to hike and see the breath taking views.

Overall, a B+ place
The kitchen, living and upstairs bedroom suite were outstanding. The outside stairs and inside stairs to the 2nd floor were too steep and too many for my wife, so we stayed on the 1st floor. The bedroom had no clothes closet nor dresser nor stand and the bed was a twin (quite small) and the bathroom was not connected and needs a towel rack, and soup dish in the shower.

We had a wonderful time and stay in the house! It fit all our needs and beautiful sunsets and sunrises ! Would book definitely be booking again !

Quiet thanksgiving get away
The property was as advertised, however there were water quality issues which took away from our enjoyment and relaxation. The property manager was prompt to address them but they remained unresolved during our stay.

A great place to connect with traditional Maine coastal culture
The house was very comfortable for our November get-away--warm, cozy, and dog-friendly. Being in Cundy's Harbor was a real treat; seeing a historic and vibrant fishing village in action was fun. The views from the front of the house were beautiful, with the trees turning color and the tide coming and going through the day. Being so close to Brunswick as well as historic Orrs and Bailey's Islands, and within an hour of Popham Beach and Reid State Park make this a perfect vacation spot.

Excellent experience
The booking was easy, the logistics were all very straightforward and smooth, and the accommodations were terrific. We had high expectations, and they were exceeded. An excellent experience all-around.

Owner Did EVERYTHING right!
This house was so well appointed and equipped, it felt CURATED! Everything in the house was perfectly selected for comfort and/or functionality! The location allowed for beautiful sunrises and a quiet retreat from the craziness of the world. I will most likely avoid properties in the future that fall under the "Vacasa" brand, but the house itself was worth the struggle of dealing with the app (seem like an extra layer of bureaucracy that didn't enhance the experience at all)

Beautiful house and location
I have never stayed in this part of Maine before so this house was the perfect place to stay. Brunswick was only a 15 minute drive away if we needed restaurants or shopping and the islands of Bailey and Orr were also close. The house is very well maintained, quiet and the views of the water and local lobster boats were beautiful. Combine that with the kayaks and pier access right in front of you and you have the makings of a perfect vacation.

Perfect Vacation Spot!
Loved the location, great view and easy walk to local restaurants and lobster pound. The house is very modern and well stocked with kitchen utensils and pots/pans. Enjoyed kayaking with seals and dolphins. The owner is very easy to work with. We would return!

A great place to get away and relax!
The house is beautifully decorated and the layout of the home is wonderful. The views of the water from the house are just breathtaking, especially the sunrise in the morning from the master bedroom. The location is quiet and peaceful, just what I was looking for. I would highly recommend this home.
