With Ivanna hostel, you get what you pay for. The facilities are basic but for the price, that’s to be expected. Anna (manager/owner) is very friendly and helpful, and was always easy to talk to. The hostel is very relaxed but still social enough to meet a few people.
There were bedbugs in my pillow on the first night. I moved to a different bed and had no further issues.

Cute cats and not a bad location
Probably the worst hostel I've ever stayed at. During my stay, the men's toilet flooded the ground and the women's toilet wasn't working either. The mosquito nets are full of holes, so they don't exactly work and I was bitten more than anywhere else I've stayed.
The staircase to the upper dorms was broken, wobbly and dangerous. It appears as though the staircase has been hastily built over another broken staircase.
Don't stay here! You can find better I'm sure.

We loved the vibe of this hostel. The dorm had a jungle vibe with cool views and a lounging terrace with hammocks beside it. The location was perfect, steps from everything and the staff were super friendly and welcoming from the start. Overall it was quiet, ideal for a good rest and the other guests were friendly and chilled too
While there were no issues during our stay having to wait to use the showers I would say that one men and one women shower is not enough if it was busier in the hostel. The mattress was a bit lumpy and I woke up with back pain both days and the some of the taps did not work. The wifi was also very slow.

Todo limpio y bueno , el dueño del hostal me dijo tranquillo para aprovechar de mi espacio , era muy bien educado y me presto material para bucear , recomiendo este llugar muy centric o

Two excellent beaches in short range, friendly staff, well equipped kitchen and the dorm is spacious and good ventilation.
The height between the lower and upper bunk bed is too small, one always scratches his head getting up.q

Drinking Water is available
I'm really sad to have to give such a low review but this place is a total mess. Everything there seems to be broken and looks like non maintenance has been done for a long time. I would say it's what you get for the low price but I stayed in cheaper hostels (half the price) with 100% higher standard. So no, it's not what you get for the value... You get heaps less.
WiFi sucks!
The last part of the road that you take to arrive, is preparing you for what the hostel is going to be...
And the barking dog at everyone only suggest to leave this place asap.
If only they at least clean it a little bit...

The staff was very friendly and nice.
The bathroom is really old and I didn‘t feel comfortable in it. There were not many people in the hostel, so it was hard to socialize.

Fans not working made it hard to get to sleep

close to the Beach and main strip. you get what you pay for
found a scorpion in the room

Doggos and cats, sociable atmosphere, small and cozy, not that far a walk to both beaches.
Didn't feel clean, wouldn't cook in there, couldn't sleep for the heat, despite a fan for each bed. Just gross and hot and blegh. Cheapest in mazunte though

3 friends that left Mexico City a few years ago to create them a whole new life: the owners are absolutely charming, authentic, so helpful and positive. I mean, you want them to become your friends too <3 The place is simple yet welcoming and artsy, maintaining a lovely garden requires a lot of love in such a place where rain is very rare. Lots of hammocks if you need to chill down a bit. You can feel the love, and am convinced that they will continue to better the place in years to come. Very walkable distance to 2 different beaches and even a theater, i consider the location to be enough remote to be quiet at night, yet very close to main areas of interest.
The cheapest hostel around, so you can expect the comfort to be a bit limited (quality of mattress), some electricity shortages and limited restrooms. But according to me, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't recommend this place for someone traveling business, but if you are young and bohemian, you definately found your spot to travel on low-cost budget.

Cozy garden, terrace, hammocks, cats and a dog (important to mention for allergy sufferers or people who are afraid). The kitchen was okay equipped. Wonderful view. 7 min walking down the hill to get to the beach.
No air conditioning (fan by the bed is not enough). The mosquito net had holes and in the room there were holes in the wall for ventilation, but without a mosquito net. The bed was very uncomfortable despite topper. One night it even felt and sounded like something broke. You could feel every spring. I asked for an additional topper, but nothing was done. The bathroom sink was not properly cleaned once . The refrigerator and freezer were dirty.

Since my last review, the shower was fixed (same day). I continued staying at the property for another week since, and will extend further to study more Spanish language at Iguana Spanish school. All previous positives remain.
At this price point can't really find fault.

Cheap accommodation. Relaxed vibe. Mosquito nets on every bed. Common areas. Easy to meet new people. Close to food, shops, beach, Punta Cometa.
Male shower is difficult to use but at this price point still OK.

I like the camping feeling of the hostel. The location was nice, my bed was big and comfy.
The staff need to be more organize and responsible rather than sitting around and chilling all day. Improvements on the facilities are a MUST! please make the place more comfortable for a stay with the money you make from your business!

Amazing atmosphere and vibe.
Cool guests, very social place, easy to meet others.
Best hosts ever, felt like staying with good friends.
Like many places in the area - no toilet seat.
Weak water pressure in the shower.
Mattress comfort.

super chill hostel, rustic but very nice place

the mattress was comfortable and the location
the showers are disgusting, there is only one toilet and shower for god knows how many people. place is very small and overwhelming. they close the kitchen at about 10pm

Everthing, the owners , their little girl and Ricardo are the most friendly, kindhearted and nice people ☺️
It felt more like a homestay than a hostel, the dog and the cats are super friendly, I met great people and had a very nice time! The hostel itself is cleaned several times a day and has a charming atmosphere.
If you look for a lovely, rustic, hippie place with great people and warm 'vibes' go there!

Near to the Punta Cometa and Mermejita...

I was very tired during the day so at night I slept like a baby, but honestly the structure isn't quite nice and the bathroom is disgusting, 0% of cleanliness.
Dirty.

it is so colourful and full of nature with so much detail! there are beautiful views and plenty of space to chill with a calm vibe
my matress was a little old so it was tough to get comfortable

Place with all the necessary things. Basic but cozy, the kitchen is nice and the terrace with plants and hammocks is good for resting. Cats playing in the garden. Very pretty
All good

The location of the property was pretty good, it was close to the main strip just up a bit of a hill. The guy who worked there was very friendly at checkin but tried to charge us to leave our bags for a couple of hours after we’d checked out, but not others.
We we booked a dorm room which ended up being a very dirty semi private room (there was a another room attached through a kind of window in one of the walls). The doors were not sealed so of course the room with filled with mosquitoes, but no sort of mosquito net was provided which was unlike everywhere else we stayed in the area. This was made especially painful as we couldn’t sleep in our long sleeved tops or bottoms as the AC was not working in the room and there was no fan. There were giant spiders in the room that easily came in through the large gap under the door. There was no lock on the door or any kind of locker for valuables. We actually met someone else who had stayed there just before us and they did have a net in their room, so I guess we were extremely unlucky. The kitchen was very dirty and filled with flies, and the gas was not working on the day that we were there. Neither of us are fussy people and have stayed in plenty of rustic / local hostels, but this was by far the worst room we have ever stayed in. We very nearly went to sleep on the beach instead. My advice would be to stay somewhere else, or at the very least go and inspect the room they are offering before you pay.

This is one of the cheapest hostels in town for a reason. It is very basic, and the shower and facets barely work. I had the dorm with ac, which was nice to have.

This is run by a beautiful small family and Ricardo. They are very friendly and helpful, keep up the good work guys!!

The hostel has a cool unique style and the vibe is super chilled out which I loved. Lots of thought and love has gone into it
Facilities are basic although it all works fine
