The owner is amazing, very welcoming and helpful. It’s very clean, the dorm is nice with only two beds in a room and two beds in another room. There’s a nice little patio and a well equipped kitchen and the hostel is in a quiet area.
Not the best place to meet new people, it was quite quiet as there’s only two privates and one 4-bed dorm. Location is a bit secluded and away from the main touristic area. A bit far from the beaches (yet still walking distance).

La señora es muy amable y accesible siempre que la necesitamos, super recomendado

I loved everything about my time (2 weeks) at Casa Sixta! Magnolia is an amazing host. She is very attentive to your needs and is fun to have conversations with. She even shares what she cooks with guests. The premises are cleaned everyday. The vibe is very relaxed. I called the place "my casita" because it felt like home. The A/C worked very well. There are fans also. The internet speed is perfect for work and streaming. Drinking water is available all day and night. The kitchen is well equipped, but I would suggest you bring containers to store your food in the fridge. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The hostel is very close to many taquerias, comedores, depositos, the ADO bus station and the Chedraui. I highly recommend for solo travelers and couples looking for a calm stay.

La hospitalidad, flexibilidad y atención

Casa Sixta is in a great quieter location in Puerto, a very short walk to some of the calmer beaches like Manzanillo and Carrizalillo. Magnolia is a wonderful, kind and hospitable host. She was very helpful and accommodating during my stay and I really enjoyed having nice conversations with her. Definitely recommend staying at Casa Sixta!!
nada :)

It was an oasis. We loved the place and how Magnolia (the owner) was taking care of it with love. She was there every day, watering the plants, cleaning and it was amazing how committed she was to the place. We had one of the new rooms and it was the best and most comfortable accommodation we’ve had in Mexico. Like the others said, the shower was amazing, the bed super comfortable and we simply felt great there. You can also cook in there, the kitchen is in the other part of the garden and was fully equipped. We could also get cold water at the reception anytime we wanted so there was no need to buy the bottled one. Thank you so much Magnolia, you truly were the best host and we wish to come back again to Casa Sixta! ❤️
We loved everything.

Super host! Very familiar athmosphere
I felt very welcomed and felt like home instantly..
Fully equipped kitchen!
Everything super clean
I stayed in a dorm and it almost felt like a private room because there is just one other roommate and a big curtain between the beds !
I would definitely come back!
Total recommend!!
It’s a very quiet place
Nice to calm down
And close to the best beaches
Everything was just fine

Casa Sixta is in a great location! It is very close to three beautiful beaches, and several more just further down either direction. I loved going to Manzanillo, because it was beautiful and close enough that I could just leave my things at the hostel, walk down to the beach, swim and come back within an hour, but you'll probably stay longer. It is also a great location as far as access to a supermarket, or little tiendas, and many little restaurants. Magnolia is amazing ! She will seriously help you with anything. She is a local and can give you suggestions on anything you are looking for. This was my first time as a solo female traveler, and this was a great place to feel safe and know she will help you if needed. Magnolia kept the rooms and common areas super clean. I loved interacting with the other guests in the nice, shady outdoor area. I will definitely be back!
Loved it all!

Super friendly, comfy bed, very clean and central but very quiet. We loved the outside area - would definitely come back :)

La tranquilidad.
No es un lugar de fiesta o de lujo. Es hogareño y tranquilo
4.7
Nice room with a modern look. It was the first hot shower I’ve had in traveling Mexico for three weeks. Close to many restaurants and bars. Nice common area and kind host.
4.7
Fantastic host, really lovely and kind. We felt at home. Had everything we needed and the room was very comfortable. Great location also close to the best beaches.
That we had to leave

4.7
Magnolia is super nice and friendly, she helps with everything.
4.7
Clean, affordable, comfortable bed, great location, amazing staff, and run by a local that knows all the best spots. Magnolia is the best!
4.7
Friendliness of the host (and her family), quality of the room and location.
4.7
The room and bathroom are new, pretty and clean, I found the matress especially comfortable! You can choose if you want the AC or the ceiling fan on which is a luxury, and there's mosquito nets in all the windows and door. Someone previously mentioned that the blinds were a bit see through which is not a problem now, there's double blinds on the big glass door. The wi-fi was great and shared kitchen well equipped. The location is super convenient, very close to the ADO bus station as well as local buses and collectivos, a big supermarket, plenty of food options and a few beaches. The owner, Magnolia, is the sweetest! Very attentive, always available, ready to help and patient with my bad Spanish. Her children are super nice too. We loved our stay, thank you!
Everything was great, nothing to complain about.

Everything
It was a bit too hot at night even with the AC.
4.7
The owner was super nice and was happy to help with everything.
There was nothing to dislike
4.7
Very nice, small, quiet and clean place in the center of Puerto Escondido. Great, very friendly staff/host and service!! Well equipped kitcheb. Close to Playa Carrizalillo and the ADO bus station.
4.7
We loved the quiet location near the beaches where you can actually swim (other beaches like Punta are just for surfing). Magnolia was a fantastic host. Very helpful and attentive. We met her uncle and he was very fun. Room and common areas great with free drinking water.
Nothing!
4.7
Very comfortable and calm. Magnolia the owner was very sweet and accommodating and makes sure you are comfortable. The shared room which I stayed in was only two beds. Really great value for money. Best host Ive had.
The walls don’t go all the way up between the rooms that I stayed in, so there were two bedrooms next too each other where you could hear everything in the other room. Fine for me since I had booked. a shared room but the ones next door had booked a private, which wasn’t very private. With that said I still can’t recommend staying here enough! I really enjoyed my stay and centro is a nice part of town.
4.7
close to bus terminal and beaches, clean room.
nitpick, ants not wanting to share the outdoor hammock : (

10/10! The hostal is small and extremely peaceful with only 4 beds, 2 in each room so very private which was a blessing after months in huge dorms. Two modern private rooms that looked beautiful.
The bed was so so comfortable with much needed aircon. It is the cleanest place I’ve stayed in Mexico! The kitchen nicely equipped with fresh coffee every morning. The hammocks were wonderful to relax in after a day at the beach and because it’s away from the road, it’s so quiet and safe.
The best part was Magnolia, she runs it all by herself and you can see the passion and dedication she puts into it. She is very kind and will go above and beyond to help you and it was so nice getting to know her and practising my spanish, she was so infinitely patient with me!!
I absolutely loved staying at Casa Sixta, I was only meant to stay for 3 nights, I don’t surf so Puerto Escondido was just supposed to be a quick stop off but I extended for a couple more, not really because of Puerto but because it was so lovely and relaxing to be in such a tranquil and clean hostel for once.
I hope to visit again in the future!

It was wonderful; very friendly owner
4.7
Great location. Extremely central
My only recommendation is that the private rooms get some sort of blinds so that in the evenings the walls aren't transparent to anyone outside in the courtyard.
4.7
this is a great quiet place to stay in Puerto - so clean with great amenities/ beds , kitchen etc.
the owner is really lovely - highly recommended
4.7
Excellent host who provided a shade umbrella for the beach (I asked if she rented them) and hair dryer when I asked which was absolutely not expected and was very kind. She (I can not remember her name) really was very helpful and accomplished. Location was excellent and the room was very comfortable!
Everything was fabulous
4.7
A perfect spot for what I was looking for! Great location and affordable! Thank you!

Magnolia is a verry sweet lady. She really takes care of her Guests. Its verry clean and quiet but the area is verry nice. Its close to the busstation and the supermarket. The dorm is ectualy split so there are 2 separated beds and then 2 together. So privacy is good.
4.7
Magnolia is the nicest person I've ever met and exceeded our expectations. We were treated like family. We stayed a week and then went other places of Puerto and just wanted to come back (and we did!) because this place was the best by far because of Magnolia (host), comfortable & clean room, location, community kitchen wifi 10/10 recommend

The curtains are a little sheer.

I cannot imagine better place to stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful and makes sure everything is clean all the time. We chose one of the rooms for 2 people, which was basic but had everything you need, stable wifi, big comfortable bed and a shower, with big doors/windows and a nice bonus is a web against mosquitoes on the door, so you can have a fresh air. The tree in the yard is making shade the whole day, so we didn't even have to use AC even when it was hot outside. Location is perfect, close to city centre and market street, also within walking distance to the beaches (about 20-30 minutes walking to our favourite Playa Coral). Also this is a quiet area, a little bit away from overpriced touristy Rinconada full of backpackers, on the other hand you will find lots of local places to eat antojitos in the morning and tlayudas/tacos at night just across the street or around the corner. So we never really used the kitchen, which is otherwise well equipped too. In overall, perfect place to stay, I would give more than 10 points if possible.
4.7
Very nice and helpfull owner.I stayed there 2 times, bcs I felt totaty comfortable.Good bed, good aircondition,wi-fi,good locality.Super chill place for good sleep.
4.7
Kind and lovely host who was very welcoming and friendly. Kitchen was good. Rooms are cleaned everyday, which is so nice as it is good value for money. Rooms are nice and new and the hammock/chill area is really nice to relax in. Fresh and cold drinking water was so nice and a first for us. These small things can really make a difference. The area is perfect as it is less than 10 min walk from lots of beaches, good and cheap food and also the rinconada area. We would highly recommend this little gem!
