About this house rental

We long dreamed of having a home by the beach. A few years ago, we built this beautiful beachfront residence for our family on BroadKill Beach near the cozy town of Milton, DE. Inspired by New England coastal aesthetics, we designed a two-story fog gray mid-Atlantic style house complete with cupola. Featured in Coastal Style magazine in August of 2017, the property includes a garage, outdoor shower, and full back deck overlooking the Delaware Bay only steps away from the beach through our private access path. You will love the secluded sandy backyard and convivial seating area around the fire pit.

As you step inside the inviting foyer, you immediately notice the view of the bay through the oversized sliding doors off of the open concept living area. The main level features a gourmet kitchen, a dining area and family room with gas fireplace, custom 300 gallon salt water fish tank, a half bath, and a secluded bedroom suite.

On the second level, you will find five additional rooms including a four-bunk bed bedroom, a jack and jill bathroom, another bedroom with private balcony, and the expansive master bedroom suite as well as a study nested around a large picture window overlooking the bay. Nearly every window in our home enjoys a water view of the front or the back of the Delaware Bay. From the first floor French doors to the second floor balconies and study window, you will delight in the panoramic view that stretches from Cape Henlopen, DE to Cape May, NJ.

Our second stay at this property. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated and yet very comfortable. Magnificent views and a nice quiet beach are perfect for a quiet and relaxing week. I would recommend this house to anyone but in some ways, we would like to keep this treasure to ourselves. We would give it 6 stars if we could. Hope to be back soon.

My family and I loved this house. It was beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. I was particularly impressed with the beds. Many rentals I’ve stayed in have firm beds and firm pillows. The beds and pillows in this house were among the most comfortable of any rental I’ve stayed in. The design and decor of the house is also exceptional. The master suite was very large and beautiful. We would stay in this house again.

Our family enjoyed a fun and relaxing stay on Broadkill Beach! The Liska’s beautiful home provided a lovely backdrop for our visits to the beach as well as family times enjoying dinners, playing games, and watching movies on rainy days. Everyone was cozy, comfortable and happy!

The owners were wonderful to work with and when they found out the water was being shut off for a few hours let us know right away so we could forward plan. The children loved the sand being close and used the Little Lending Library nearby.

There just aren’t words to describe this property!! The pictures don’t do this house justice and maybe that is a good thing to keep it a well kept secret!! Everyone enjoyed it, kitchen has everything, and walk to beach is perfect!! Had the beach all to ourselves for 7 days… left our chairs and umbrellas right there for the week!!! And the shells were amazing… we will be back!!!

Lovely property and we fell in love with the Delaware Bay location. Close enough to activities when the kids got tired of the beach, but far enough from the madhouse beaches to give us a quieter, more private experience.

We had a great time here for our family vacation (ages 3-75). The house was perfect! The beach is beautiful and usually mostly empty. The bugs at broadkill beach can be really bothersome when there isn’t much wind.

Our family spent an enjoyable week at Broadkill Beach in the beautifully appointed home of Veronique and Gary. Everything we needed was there, and the aquarium entertained the children daily! Veronique responded quickly to our questions. All family members enjoyed privacy and were more than comfortable in their bedrooms and bathrooms. We’re looking forward to a time when we can return to Veronique and Gary’s home at Broadkill.

My group (6 adults + 2 small kids) all had a wonderful time at Veronique's house. Even in the middle of the July, the beach was not crowded at all. This was my first time to Broadkill Beach, and the water was calm and perfect for little kids. The house is beautifully designed, and the great room and open kitchen were very inviting. Overall, we had a memorable, relaxing, and easy week here, and we hope to return in the future!

This beach house is as advertised. The house was perfect for my family. Grocery store was a short drive away and the beach was a short walk off the deck. We had problem with the air conditioner upstairs and it was fixed in a timely manner. The only trouble we had was with a jellyfish.

Awesome family week on Broadkill Beach

Our family, six adults, 2 almost 5 year olds and a 1 year old, had an awesome week on Broadkill Beach. The house is super well done and perfect for our 3 family groups—each had its own room(s) and a separate bath. The layout of the house is very well thought out with a spacious kitchen (great appliances) and dining/great room area (kids loved the fish tank). Perhaps the best feature is that we were only a 2 minute walk from the beach --so it was no problem going back and forth multiple times a day with the little ones. The beach has fine sand, calm waves, and few other people (at least during our week). The weather during our week was generally quite good--even when it rained a few times, the house is big enough so we could spread out with plenty of room for the kids to play. Nice to have the general store less than a mile away--ice cream for the kids and take out pizza one night. With a full moon and high tides during our week, it was something to see hundreds of horseshoe crabs come on the beach at night to lay their eggs. We did have one day, though, when the flies on the beach were pretty pesky (strong west wind). Veronique and Gary were great hosts and very responsive. If we can get everyone together for another week in the future, we will definitely come back.

The house is beautiful, designed with a lovely and comfortable flow between rooms, and nice attention to details (upscale appliances, very clean, good pots/pans/silverware). The bay-side beach is a walkway away and the water was very calm -- which was great for the little kids. Lewes and Rehoboth are an easy drive away for shopping and dining out. The only negative was the wifi -- very weak signal which made it difficult to work. The house has a DSL line not a cable service, so very out of date. If you want to completely unplug, then the weak wifi wouldn't be a problem. The adults traveling with me were not that lucky! I would definitely stay in the house again. Allison

We spent 6 nights at Veronique’s and Greg’s home on Broadkill beach outside of Milton, DE. From our initial outreach about renting the property to checking out, everything went smoothly. The owners/hosts have designed a beautiful home with several thoughtful touches. The beach is beautiful and calm but also close enough to enjoy more exposed ocean beaches. The town of Milton is charming and Lewes is an easy 25 min ride.
