Awe-inspiring ocean views await at this charming, cedar-shingled seaside cottage in the Outer Banks. Open the blinds or the double doors while brewing a pot of coffee and take a seat in the rocking chair on your oceanfront deck to catch the sunrise with the sound of breaking waves and seagulls. If you’ve brought the family pup to this dog-friendly home, a walk on the beach might be in order followed by rinsing the sand from their paws using the outdoor shower. Head back inside as the rest of your group wakes up and starts preparing breakfast. You’ve got a full suite of appliances, ample counter space, and all the quality cookware and gadgets you need to make a quick breakfast or a full buffet. When it’s time to eat, grab a seat at one of the two dining tables or the breakfast bar inside, or slide those double doors open and sit on the upper deck with the salty breeze in your hair. Stow the dishes in the dishwasher and head out to explore the Outer Banks, or just make your way to the beach for a lazy day on the sand.

In the evening, the top floor offers a comfortable seating area, a large TV with cable, and ample space for everyone to relax, build a puzzle, or play one of the many games available. The lighted outdoor lower level offers an area for grilling, digging in the sand, playing corn hole, or having fun on the rope swing. On the first floor, you’ll find all four bedrooms. The main suite, the Captain’s Room, offers ocean views from your King bed, a TV, an en suite bathroom, and your own slider to the lower deck.

The second ocean view room, the Skipper’s Room, features a Queen bed, flatscreen TV, and en suite bathroom with your own deck access. Additionally, the other Skipper’s Room features a comfy Queen with beach sandpiper decor. Lastly, the final bedroom, the Pirate’s Room, offers a pair of twin beds in a Pirate-themed bedroom with a flatscreen TV as well. As you settle in for the night, end the day as you began, on either of your lovely decks, this time watching the stars rise over the ocean. Don’t stay up too late though - you don’t want to miss that sunrise.

Our family loved staying at this house. A lovely older house with lots of charm. We loved hanging on the upper deck and watching the ocean and all the surfers. The "poop deck" always made us giggle, perfect name for it! My family also loved the easy short walk to the beach and being dog friendly. An amazing place to stay to enjoy OBX, and surrounding areas.

The location of the home was perfect. The house was clean and exactly as pictured. The owners have left a lot of toys/coloring books/ and things of that nature for smaller children as well as outside toys for sand castles and a swing. The beds were very comfortable and the house had basically everything we needed! We would definitely return.

Our family LOVED our stay. It was quiet, except for the sound of the surf, which was heaven and the neighbors we quiet and friendly. This location was exactly as shown in the listing. The beds were very comfortable. We don’t care for eating out and this place had a well stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed to cook whatever we wanted. We have been looking for a beach vacation area that is not crowded with amusements and “tourist trap” areas. We just wanted peace, quiet, the beach/ocean, and time to spend with each other. This was it!! We all fell in love with OBX (including our doggie). New vacation spot located. 😁

The upper deck is the place was hung out mostly. The kitchen was nicely appointed but needed more hand towels.

We highly recommend this oceanfront home, the beach being easily accessible around the protected dune. The views were magnificent from the living area as well as the lower level where one falls asleep to the lull of the surf. For us we wanted to rest and relax in the sun, read and surf fish. The weather was beautiful during our entire stay. My husband caught several Kingfish from the surf for three dinners. We have vacationed in the Outer Banks many times over the years and must say this home tops the list. The kitchen is well equipped including the dual coffee maker for pods. We do suggest, however, that the sofa/loveseat be updated and that a non slip mat be added to the tub/shower especially for we seniors. The cleaning staff did a great job prior to our arrival. Again, we highly recommend Still Waters for your Outer Banks vacation.

Our recent stay at "Still Waters" in Rodanthe offered a blend of delightful views and disappointing limitations, resulting in a somewhat mixed experience. While the property boasted immaculate cleanliness and stunning vistas from both its upper and lower decks, certain drawbacks left us feeling conflicted about our overall satisfaction. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a home that, while charming, displayed dated furnishings. However, any initial reservations were quickly dispelled by the impeccable cleanliness throughout the property. The allure of the upper and lower decks proved irresistible, offering unparalleled opportunities to bask in morning sunrises and indulge in mesmerizing star-gazing sessions at night. The sweeping views of the beachfront were undeniably the highlight of our stay, providing a sense of tranquility and connection with nature that we cherished. Regrettably, the designation of being "beach front" did not translate to guaranteed beach access—a fact that came as a disappointing revelation. Despite our eagerness to immerse ourselves in the coastal experience, the preservation of dunes and the actions of neighboring properties effectively blocked any direct pathway to the beach. This lack of accessibility was a significant letdown, dampening our enthusiasm and leaving us feeling somewhat misled by the property's description. In hindsight, we feel that "Still Waters" should come with a caveat: while it offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere, prospective guests should be aware that beach access is not guaranteed and may be subject to external factors beyond the property's control. In summary, while "Still Waters" holds promise as a retreat for those seeking natural beauty and tranquility, its limitations in beach access warrant caution for those with specific expectations of coastal exploration. With improved transparency regarding beach accessibility, this property has the potential to offer a truly exceptional vacation experience.

We were here from the West coast on vacation and decided to stay here for 2 nights. The house was perfect. There were 2 decks with enough seating for everyone. The views of the sunrise and the ocean were incredible. We sat on the upper deck every morning to watch the sunrise with our coffee. We had some really strong surf when we were there. We had an unobstructed view of the oceans power. The house itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Wish it could have been longer. Checkin and checkout could not have been easier.
