This 1832 Log Home was moved from Wallingford KY to current location and stands on top of a hill with truly spectacular view. It is a farmhouse style axe hued log home made from American chestnut. Two bedrooms with their own bathrooms, porch that wraps all around. The property has central heat and air, smoke alarms with integrated carbon monoxide and external cameras.

Annual friends weekend. Location beautiful and house stunning. wraparound porch was a highlight of the trip as we spent most of our time rocking and taking in the scenery. Plan to return.

We would definitely return.
Our only point of improvement is that the exterior camera locations and where they are pointed means there’s nowhere to sit outside on the deck without being recorded. We own a vacation rental and we’re very intentional with our camera locations to provide security but not invade our guests privacy.

My husband, son and wife, and I were in town to celebrate my mother’s 89th Birthday. She lives in an assisted living. This VRBO allowed us to stay together as a family vs. hotel room. This place is a jewel and the story on how it was put together was very interesting. It was very clean, equipped, comfortable beds, quite, gorgeous scenery.

Location and view of the mountains were beautiful. However, I do understand the use of cameras, but i booked 4 people ( assuming my son was staying with us) and my neice and son had came to visit ( live in the area) and i got a email first,then a text, why there was 5 people at the cabin. I said she was visiting and was not staying. My sons dog came to visit with them (pet friendly cabin). I didnt pay for a pet so the dog could not be there visiting for the evening either. I paid the additional $50 so out family pet could visit during our stay. We changed our plans of having dinners at the cabin and sitting and looking at the view of the mountains in the evenings, because we had camera on us at all times( very uncomfortable feeling) even though the owner said he doesnt watch the cameras only at check in )and I booked 4 people and that is all that is allowed there no gatherings for more than the 4 allowed. I would recommend this place for the cabins location, mountain veiws and cleaniness but not for the accomadations.

Cute, farmhouse style house. Lots of space and updated bathrooms. Amazing views and comfortable beds! We were only staying at night due to visiting family in the area but this fit out needs perfectly. Would recommend some ambient lighting beyond the overhead LEDs. Loved the dining room table - it was fantastic!

We came down to the area to visit family. The area is breathtaking and the home exceeded our expectations. From the moment I saw the listing, I could imagine coffee on that front porch and I was not disappointed. So peaceful with the occasional mooing of the beautiful cows that you can see in the pastures nearby. The house is perfectly appointed right down to dog beds in the bedrooms and puppy treats in a jar on the counter. I feel everything has been thought of. It was very clean and the beds were so comfy. Did I mention the view? To wake up and look out the bedroom window (without leaving your bed) to see the mountains...perfect. At night, we got to see the woods behind light up with fireflies bigger than I've ever seen.
We took day trips to Clinch Mountain Overlook, Cherokee National Forest, and Lake Watauga. The house itself seems off the beaten path, yet is very close to Greeneville with any restaurant, shop, or store you may need.
We will be back!

Enjoy a taste of living like a pioneer with the modern amenities at hand. The cabin is authentic from the bare bones of the timbers to the carefully selected antiquities that are sprinkled throughout the home. And the view of the misty mountains and the roaming deer add to the feel of living during the early 1800s. The hosts are amazing too! They stay connected without being intrusive. We are already planning on returning in the fall. During our stay we visited Davy Crockett's birthplace, the Andrew Johnson home and museum and Troyer's Amish market. We dined at The Old Oak Taproom, Gondolier and Southern Craft.

We love rustic places...this venue is awesome! Placed away from the hustle and bustle of town, the quiet (with the occasional mooing cow, or coyotes yipping in the distance), the views, the stars at night all make this the perfect "get away from it all" place. The cabin is as advertised and is the place we cannot wait to get back to. The perfect get-away. The property managers are awesome...you will not be disappointed.

This was our second time staying at this lovely cabin. We love sitting on the wraparound porch and looking at all the views, seeing the fireflies, and listening to the wildlife, (and not so wild cows), at sunset. It is truly relaxing and warm.

If you love peace and quiet along with beautiful views of the country, you'll love this rental. The interior is spacious yet cozy with authentic country charm. The views of the mountains from the front porch are amazing while the back porch is perfect for watching the sunset and listening to the herd of cattle in the distance. If this rental was closer to where we live (in NY), we'd be renting it multiple times a year!

Checking in was easy. When we entered, mostly awe struck by the attention to detail of the original wood work and dressers to match the period of the place. Modern conveniences were added, but the rest of it feels like you went back in time. My cousin was with me and him and his family are talking about taking a vacation to this wonderful cabin for a whole week! Check out was simple and easy.

Although it was quick trip to TN and a short stay for us, the cabin was fabulous! It was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Although we did not cook at the cabin, the kitchen had everything we would’ve needed to do so. The beds were very comfortable, there were extra pillows and blanket in both bedrooms, and each bedroom had its own bathroom with a shower, which was really nice. Each bedroom also had a dog bed and the kitchen even had a container of dog treats which we thought was a really nice touch as our dog accompanied us on the trip. The porch wraps completely around the house and the view from the front is absolutely beautiful. Ralph was very quick to respond to every question and we truly appreciated him accommodating our last minute request to bring our dog. We loved everything about our stay and will absolutely stay here again if we get the chance!

My friend and I stayed here and we’re delighted to be greeted with a fully functioning kitchen with tons of dishes and utensils. In addition, a full bath in each room is a luxury most rentals don’t come with. The cabin is spacious, clean, and stocked with everything you’ll need to have a great time in the mountains.

The home came from Kentucky & was rebuilt on the site. It is beautiful. Both bedrooms were upstairs & had their own bathrooms. Furnishings & décor are simple & minimal, but perfect. The walls are the only décor it needs. We watched Fireflies every night while listening to the frogs. We ate breakfast on the oversized front porch while looking at the beautiful scenery. It was peaceful & quiet. This place is exactly what we have been looking for for our forever home. We will be back for sure. The property manager was very responsive. Check-in was very easy. I HIGHLY recommend this property.

This cabin is amazing, and the views from the front porch are incredible. It's like stepping back in time, but with all the modern conveniences. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch and listening to the sounds of nature while enjoying the spectacular scene of mountains in front of us. We were a little disappointed that it wasn't actually located on the river, but we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful or relaxing setting. It was very clean, with a comfortable mattress and plenty of hot water. There were lots of thoughtful touches and beautiful antiques and handmade furniture in every room. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

We enjoyed our stay here. The views from the porches are spectacular. We loved the historical aspect of this place. The stairs to the second floor were a little treacherous for us since we both suffer from arthritis, but we held on tight and made it through. Manager was very responsive to our needs.

My daughter and I slackpacked 33 miles on the Appalachian Trail on three separate days. My husband dropped us off at a trail head and picked us up at another one each day, returning to this cabin to work and enjoy the view in between drop off and pick up. What a perfect home base for this vacation. The cabin was spotlessly clean and perfectly charming. The wrap around porch with amazing views was delightful. We loved our stay so much! Can't think of a thing we would change. Ralph was a great host, responsive to any questions we had. We hope to stay here again!!

My friends and I stayed at the cabin while attending the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, an approximate 30 minute drive away. It was fabulous to come back to this restful spot, sit on the porch with a glass of wine, and watch the deer through the windows in the morning/evening. Just a couple of suggestions for furnishings that would make a stay just that much greater: a table or two for the porch (a place to rest your glass/snack); some bedside lamps for reading in bed and so that you don't have to hit the overheads then stumble through the dark at bedtime; another table in the TV room (same as above). A beautiful unique property, I highly recommend it.
