Clean, convenient, quiet, comfortable. Close to all the charms of Jamaica Plain on calm, one way street. Parking plentiful. Kitchen a bit bare bones. Some rules, but all about being a good neighbor. Would totally return.

Worked out well for some Red Sox games

Pros :The owners live upstairs and they are very nice and responsive. The apartment is very spacious and conveniently located.
Cons:The place is bit run down and needs some TLC.
There was a coffee maker but hardly any coffee, no sugar and no tea. All the mattresses were covered in plastic underneath the sheets. I can't sleep well when every time I move there is a crinkling sound. Our bedroom door wouldn't close. Our bedroom didn't have a closet or a dresser, just a couple of hooks with no hangers.

convenient neighborhood, older home, worked fine for us

We loved our stay at this lovely apartment! Close to the city but far enough out to be a quiet neighborhood. Conveniently located with a CVS, Whole Foods and several restaurants all within walking distance. There was also a beautiful pond right around the corner. The home had plenty of rooms and beds, and the house was so charming with it's antique style, true to the historic neighborhood and city. Great communication with the owners. Would definitely recommend!

Such a great stay. The communication was clear and very helpful. The house was very comfortable for all 5 of us. And the neighborhood was a quiet one that still was very close to restaurants and shops by walking, parks and ponds very nearby, and the rest of Boston and area by a quick drive. The kids even enjoyed the school playground across the street.

We had a very positive experience communicating with the property manager. The location is great for families- it is an easy drive into Boston, there is plenty of parking near the apartment, the neighborhood is safe and great for walking around. We loved being in walking distance to lots of great restaurants and Jamaica Pond!
However I was disappointed to find the apartment was not very clean. In addition to a lot of clutter near the front entrance and on the back porch, upon arrival there was leftover food (a piece of old bacon) on the rug in the living room. Additionally there is not a lot of comfortable seating options in the living area (one old couch and two directors chairs). Lastly, we were woken up on the last night to a smoke detector going off which was not ideal.
All that to be said, this apartment was what we needed for this trip (a safe/easy place for two families to stay as we visited Boston) but I do not plan on renting at this location again.

Our family of four was returning to Jamaica Plain, having moved away 7 years ago. We knew the area well and were excited to revisit our old neighborhood. The apartment was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and living room provided a nice place to land at the end of each busy day. The communication was easy and clear, and I would recommend this spot to others.

Perfect location for relatives to stay from out of town while visiting the newest member of the family.

Great location. Close to Fenway and downtown. Three bedrooms worked out fine for our party of five. Good communication. Clean and everything was as advertised. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location and overall very nice. Had every we needed. I marked a 3 for cleanliness because back patio was dirty and there was something on the sofa bed sheet..wax substance, so I don't believe it was changed. Everything else was great!

4.0
Pros: safe neighborhood, close proximity to public transportation and neighborhood amenities like grocery store and restaurants, ample space for four adults. (Three bedrooms with a queen bed in each room).
Cons: These folks should not be renting out their unit. AT ALL. There is a young family upstairs. The house is old, thin walls and old creaky wood floors. They have SEVERAL young children upstairs who have no rules considering the VRBO renters below. Their children run around, scream, yell and carry on. They moved furniture around and let them tumble and roughhouse. We were there for the Boston Marathon. My husband and two daughters, age 26 and 24. None of us slept well due to the noises above. We actually had to leave the place when their children were running around screaming upstairs....it was annoying and disruptive. If you don't plan on getting rest, and expect to be gone, away from the unit the entire time you are there, you might find it works for you....but otherwise, skip this one.
Also note, no A/C. They do have a portable stand-up unit that helped in the main living area, but rooms were very hot the first night. As the temps dropped during the week, it got cold in the house because the windows are old, and the one in the kitchen actually has such a big crack you could feel the cold air coming in. The radiant heat unit did work very well to warm the unit up, but it bangs in the bedrooms (like someone hitting a metal utensil against it.) so turned it off at night

We attending a wedding at Jamaica Pond and pre-wedding event at Turtle Swamp Brewing and reception at UU church, all within walking distance. Perfect location for JP stay. Property was clean and as described, street parking plentiful, kitchen fully functional. One bathroom for six adults only very very mildly inconvenient. Really not a big deal.

This was a great place to stay. It was so nice to come back from the excitement of town to the beauty and calm of this area. The house is so nice. Everything we needed. Great restaurants in walking distance.
6.0
This was in a wonderful location and the beds were super comfortable. However, the rules the owner laid out were over-the-top restrictive; especially the ones about using the back deck (which was unusable and filthy, including trash and a dead mouse.) There wasn't enough seating for a large group (only a sofa and foldable chairs in living room) and there were restrictions on the noise for guests when the owners upstairs tromped around and kids yelled. Also silly rules about being outside of the home past 8pm- We were middle aged women with our children and thought this was way over the top. Also, the kitchen and bath were so-so on the cleanliness and the water pressure was quite weak. We also were required to strip the beds and gather all the linens ourselves despite paying a cleaning fee. Found the damage fee (which was refundable) a bit over the top. Also- the power went out the first night for quite a while and they asked US to clamber down these narrow stairs to the basement to try and sort out the issue ourselves. Only 2 of the 3 bedrooms had A/C and there was a giant and very noisy portable unit in the living room which made it very hard to hear one another much less watch TV and stay within the "Noise Rules" set down by owners.

Lovely home and neighborhood.

Great Location
As advertised, this was a lovely and spacious place, perfect for our (very first) trip to Boston. Nice neighborhood, convenient to the some local restaurants, a pharmacy, a grocery store, and public transportation. Owners were attentive and responsive.

Simple with some oddities
This property met our location standards with proximity to Boston, street parking, enough beds for a family of 5.
Pros: Quiet neighborhood, walking paths nearby, close to convenient stores and restaurants, clean home and friendly owners.
Cons: However, when the property owner's family was home, we could hear the child(ren) footsteps running around throughout the day, night and evening. Bathroom tile's thinset was loose and would come out when we walked on it - it could be a hazard and is annoying. The back deck was not usable space, deck boards had holes, the seats were missing cushions and the wicker furniture was dirty. We brought out the kitchen chairs to sit for a few minutes to wind down after our daily excursions. We were hoping to cook meals there but the cookware was lacking, and we still ordered dinner out as if we were in a hotel (and no pizza cutter..) I could go into a bit more about mattresses and pillows - but to each their own.

Great!
We had a very pleasant stay! It is an old house in a very beautiful location in JP. Beds were very comfortable! I wish the shower had a better pressure. Otherwise, will stay again when in the area.

Loved Boston
Great location and has the required amenities even though it is undergoing some work somewhere--but it is minor stuff that does not affect a stay. The host Drew and Nicole are very responsive and took care of our concerns and needs right away.

College friend reunion
This was a great apartment for a group of old college friends to get together. We enjoyed JP neighborhood, restaurants, and proximity to Boston and Cambridge places we wanted to visit. There was plenty of room, beds were comfortable, parking usually readily available, the Pond a short walk away. Overall, a very good experience.

Amazing accommodations!
We stayed 2 nights and could not be happier. The apartment was exactly like the photos. Very spacious, clean, excellent beds with beautiful linens and a well equipped kitchen.
This property is in a quiet neighbourhood and walkable to many cute restaurants and cafes.
Check in was seamless and communication with the owners was a pleasure.
I would definitely stay here again.
