Heron's Nest is a cozy canal home in Jamaica Beach with an amazing deck with extension directly over the canal with both a covered portion and an uncovered area. For the family who loves to fish and for those who just love a great deck with amazing water views, Heron's Nest has it all.
Heron's Nest is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home that will accommodate up to 8 people. The kitchen is very well equipped and includes a full-size frig, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot, blender, and a toaster. The home also has central air and heat, washer/dryer, fenced yard, charcoal and propane grill, swing and a boat dock.
On the main level of the home, the primary bedroom has a king-size bed, private bath and TV, the second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, the third bedroom has 2 single beds. The laundry room is newly renovated and has a large capacity stackable washer/dryer!

Jamaica Beach Texas is one of the most popular beaches and sought-after neighborhoods when it comes to vacation rentals – what it lacks in size, it makes up for action during the summer months, holidays and event weekends! Jamaica Beach is far enough out to be away from the hustle and bustle of Seawall (8 miles), and but not too far away from most of the island attractions (10 miles from 61st Street). Even if listed as a provided amenities, Ryson is unable to guarantee specific cable package, network or channels or cable and internet signal quality and cable may not be available on all TVs. Oftentimes additional TVs are available for guests wanting to hook up their own game systems or streaming devices.
All reservations require a completed Ryson Rental Agreement, and the agreement holder must be at least 25 years of age to rent this property and provide a valid ID at check-in. Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is at 10 am.
EXTENDED STAYS
Monthly rentals are considered in the off-season - Winter Texans, snowbirds, retirees, corporate stays, medical professionals, university students and plant workers are welcome. Extended stays or monthly rentals require a stay of 30+ nights, and these reservations are tax exempt. This is an immediate savings of 15%! Although most extended stay reservations are between the middle of November through February, extended stays may be considered anytime between Labor Day and Memorial Day. We booked this place for a friend trip for 4 couples. It is advertised as a 4 bedroom. The 4th bedroom is downstairs at ground level with a separate entrance. The smell of mildew is overwhelming and makes it uncomfortable to spend any amount of time there. You can smell it before you even open the door. Also, two overhead lights do not turn off completely.
The primary bedroom bed had sand in the sheets. We also killed a roach on our first night.
All in all it is a well equipped home but wish we had known about the fourth bedroom and wish it had been cleaner.

I love going to Galveston. My family has been spending one or two nighters there for many years. This beach house was spacious with a large deck perfect for fishing. Kitchen and bathrooms are newly remodeled. Had a great experience with family.

We will definitely stay here again. Plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was fantastic! It was well equipped and had everything we needed. Only downside is deck stairs need replacing. Otherwise it was an excellent place to stay.

Property was good for the family. We needed all rooms.
Water downstairs for cleaning off and for fish station disabled. We needed it. The room downstairs was musty so not an option to stay in it. The rest of the stay was excellent. Dock was great for fishing, close to beach, all appliances worked.

The property was nice size and relaxing on the water. There were several issues with the furnishings and accessories. The grill was not cleaned and nearly caught on fire. The furniture was pretty old and worn out. They need a couple of items in the kitchen. Nothing that prevented us from having a good time, just needs updating.

Very nice
Thus property was even better than photos and descriptions. Well maintained and stocked. It’s the most quiet property I’ve ever rented….I wonder if they foam insulated the walls. We even had a hard time hearing when the baby cried! Nice setting and really good in every way.

The property was very clean. The appliances were all high end and worked well. Plenty of dishes, cutlery and pots and pans. My husband loved fishing from the pier. It is just a short hop to the beach. One thing I didn't see in the listing was that there is a lift! Not for people but it was great for luggage and groceries! It was an unexpected bonus. Really enjoyed the deck and the breeze.

We so enjoyed this property with the large deck over looking the canal in a quiet neighborhood. The appliances were great including the Keurig machine, The atmosphere and layout was home like. It could use a face lift and modernization; simple touch ups. There also were some concerns that have been mentioned in prior reviews and have not been addressed. Feed back and reviews are only beneficial if changes, repairs are made . First impressions make a big difference . Outside of refrigerator needs repairs ; kitchen cupboards need to be fixed , vents cleaned and a solution to the mustiness of the lower room, upkeep of outdoor furniture. Photos need to be updated or updates need to match photos. Overall very good but could be great with a few simple minor cosmetic changes. Hope follow through can be a reality. Thank you. We enjoyed this spacious decked beach house in a quiet canal community.!!

Great for a weekend getaway
My family stayed at Heron's Nest for an extended weekend and we really enjoyed it. Outside of a couple of minor issues, the house is a perfect place to get away and be close to the water. We would definitely stay at this place again.

This was a great little spot for our girls weekend. The outdoor space is absolutely amazing. There was plenty of room inside and out.

Nie property for our family
Overall it was a very nice place for our family. Good size and well kept. Some things missing and wrong. There was no propane in the propane grill; the dryer didn't work (6 hours to dry one load of towels); for the 8 people staying there more towels were needed since the dryer wasn't working; only one kitchen towel; lights out on deck (or no instructions about switches); and air not working in one bedroom.. Nothing major but just several things that would have made a much better stay.

Good location, but needs better air conditioning.
The house was nice, but it was extremely hot in the bedrooms which made it hard to sleep. I wish there were things like beach chairs and beach toys for little kids available in the house. We've been coming to Jamaica Beach for 4 years now and this was the first house that didn't have those things. Also the skillets/cookware were not very good quality compared to other places we stayed. Overall it was a nice vacation though.

The property was in excellent condition and well taken care of. Ryson did not disturb us during our stay as other vacation rental companies can do. We will be using them again in the future.
