This modern private pool home is in an amazing location in a guard-gated residential area near downtown Playa and 5th Avenue and to the Playacar Public beach. It’s the perfect place to stay with your vacation crew and make great new memories in Playa del Carmen!

Guests have 4 parking spots at home making it very easy to get in and out of the area. The home is about a 53-minute drive (60 km | 37 miles) from the Cancun International Airport (CUN) and is located in the guard-gated residential area called Playacar, Fase 2.
If you are not renting a car, we recommend that you reserve your airport transportation in advance.
If you don’t feel like renting a car and driving around town, taxis are always available, just be sure to take registered taxis only! Public bicycles are available to rent downtown too. You will see the BiciPlaya stands where you can rent bikes by the day or by the journey.
There are also 2 ADO bus stations to get you to nearby Yucatan destinations or other Mexican states for day trips, etc, located at:
- 5th Avenue and Av. Benito Juarez
- 20 Avenida Norte and Calle 12
In the event you are driving around town, note there are PARKING METERS IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN! The meters are in operation from Monday to SUnday 10 am to 10 pm all around downtown Playa with one digital parking meter box per street that you have to look for to pay for your parking and display your ticket on the dashboard.
PUBLIC PARKING LOTS & GARAGES
There are 4 main parking lots in Playa:
- Under Quinta Alegría Mall, an underground lot you enter on Constituyentes Avenue between 10th Avenue and 5th Avenue
- Tendenza, an underground lot, on 10th Avenue between 14th Street and 14 Bis Street
- Plaza Pelícanos outdoor lot, on 10th Avenue between 8th and 10th Street
- 34th Street and 10th Avenue, an outdoor 24-hr lot
All parking is reasonably priced at about 10-20 pesos an hour or 200 pesos for 24-hour parking.
Other Things to Note:
Please note guests must climb stairs to access the 4 rooms on the second floor.
The loss of access bracelets incurs an additional fee of $15 USD per lost bracelet.
Please, note that the security booth at the entrance gate of the residential area may request guest identification at any time.

Pretty clean place. Good comms with the property manager. Beach access an easy 5 min walk. Walk to town also easy, 15 mins. House only being equipped with one 5 gallon water jug was inadequate for group size and duration so we went and bought some (house having a jug exchange service would add value). Kitchen was reasonably well equipped. Road noise on the front rooms solved with earplugs no problem and tapers after 10 or 11. Bedroom with 2 beds that shares bathroom with the master per the property description is actually off the master and only accessible "through" the master. Bien viaje!

I am providing this review having stayed at multiple homes in Playacar, with intimate knowledge of costs and pricing in the area, a sister living in town, and having grown up myself in the culture and language.
In short this is not a good place to stay, and many better places are available nearby for the cost.
First some good feedback:
- Clean rooms, linens, and house
- Safe area, easy taxi access, close to town and beach
- Great pool, living room, and well equipped kitchen
Secondly on areas for concern:
- Yard fence broken upon arrival and only propped with sticks to fix
- Pool needed shocked prior to use
- Poor WIFI reception; had to use neighbor’s guest access
- Took host two days to fix non-working AC in family room
- Minimal amenities provided with no guidance of how to obtain more (1 jug of water for 16 people, 3 trash bags, 1 pod for dishwasher) – most houses in area provide ample water and amenities to survive more than 1-2 days – very disappointing
-Sharp metal plate at pool near shallow end – we needed to cover with pool noodles for safety
- Dangerous drop off in family room step – several family members fell with one injured
Much of deposit kept for “cleaning” although place was left clean and followed all instructions from host – tracks with minimal amenities and the excessive “host charges” for the booking

The house is beautiful and spacious and the location convenient to so much ---unfortunately it took us half our vacation to figure things out before we could settle in and enjoy our time - this is the first VRBO that we have stayed in that did NOT have a book with basic household info, directions and handy information - for ex, getting fresh water - despite asking in advance we were given no direction on how to get more water when what was there ran out (think cooler size container)- come to find out you can't just buy another large water container but need to exchange what is there and you can only exchange at certain places - pretty tough if you came by taxi and don't have a car - we noted that other places had water exchange - also, 3 days to find the ' 5 minute' walk to the beach despite multiple emails asking about this - other tings to know: what to do with recycling? what day is garbage day? the water to the washing machine is turned off;, we never did figure out how to turn on the water to the outside spigot to rinse the sand off our feet. The inside was overall clean, neat and as described but it seemed as if it had been awhile since the outdoor areas and furniture were cleaned.
Overall, if there had been a 'welcome to the house' book upon arrival it would have made things so much smoother - the house itself is in a great spot, the pool is great & cleaned regularly, 6 BR/5 bath is perfect and it really is only a 15 min walk to 5th ave which we did often
