About this cabin rental

We are just off I-29 in northern Missouri between St. Joseph and Platte City. This tiny cabin is across the driveway from our house on flat ground. Our property is 21 acres and includes a yard of 6 acres and fields (alternating corn and soy beans) and a wooded area. There is a fishing pond down the hill behind our house. There is also a fire pit to the left (north) of the cabin. Around the fire pit are swings and benches. We call this area Geriatric Park. It used to be a playground for our grandkids, but when they outgrew it we adults took it over!

We have a gravel driveway which services our house and the cabin. You park next to the cabin. There is a kitchenette with the necessary essentials and a small bath with a shower and toilet. There is also heat and AC.

If you love nature and want to relax, walk in the fresh air, or even be put to work, just let us know. We want your stay here to be enjoyable and hope you look forward to coming back!

We are in the country not too far from the Pigeon Hill firing range, so you may hear gunfire from there.

Nearby are several wineries, the McCormick Distillery in Weston MO, and historical St Joseph MO (where the Pony Express began and Jesse James ended), as well as several antique stores. Just a little further southwest is Leavenworth KS, which has a huge amount of history and more antiques, and Fort Leavenworth (the Army's Command and General Staff College (CGSC)). To the east is Jamesport MO, our local Amish colony.

This is a farm. If the thought of a bug, spider web, or strand of hair makes you cringe, this probably isn't the place for you. The cabin is clean and sanitized between each visitor, but is not prepared for a forensic inspection. Thanks for understanding!

We stayed here while attending the Chiefs Training Camp. It was a perfect size for me, my husband, and 9 year old son. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed and more. My son even fished in the pond in the afternoon. Neat property! Would stay again!

What a perfect place to spend the first night of my cross country move. This little cabin has it all and is beautifully appointed. Grounds are lovely and Sharon is warm and welcoming. My friend and I enjoyed it very much! Thank you Sharon for a great stay!

Nice little cabin in a quiet place. The owner was very friendly, good at responding in a timely manner, and was most helpful. The location is perfectly out of the way but not too far to get to local attractions without driving all day. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet place to stay.

It was Excellent!! The Host has a Duck Pen, and i got some Duck Eggs to take with me!... Such a Pleasant, generous Host!... I will be going back again and again! My 10-month-old Cava Poo absolutely Loved it!... Running in OPEN Space is her favorite thing to do!! Other people not around, and are no bother whatsoever! I Highly Recommend staying here!!

This was exactly as described and we enjoyed our time at the cabin. The only suggestion I’d have is it would be nice if each cabin had its own small fire pit to the side of the cabin. We’d hoped to cook out over a grill but realized the fire pit was a good distance from the cabins so it wouldn’t have been feasible to cook dinner over it.

Pictures show a lush green backdrop behind the 2 cabins, that is across a busy street you cannot see and not their property. They added a cabin 0 so we were sandwiched in between 2 other cabins. They were occupied by guys with big pickups that hung out in the "parking lot" talking and smoking. We didn't feel comfortable exploring their land. The floors were sticky so we work our shoes the whole time. Tried to clean with the supplies under the sink but there were mice droppings. We left first thing in the morning after little sleep. Disappointing.

We have stayed here before and the place is cozy and very pet friendly and I don't go anywhere without my dog. It's well stocked and beats a hotel room in the noisy city. We will be back! :)

My father and sister and I enjoyed our visit immensely. The space was spotless, the owner was easy to communicate with, and the property was beautiful. The real treat was for my dog, though. She was in heaven with the long walks in the clean country air. Really a great place to recharge. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful, delightful, marvelous. Picturesque rural hilltop abode. Can’t say enough good things about the host. Welcoming, accommodating, responsive are just a few. Dog friendly. The hosts and their dog were very accepting. Lots of room to roam. Just watch the duck pen if your dog is a hunter. It’s a tiny cabin 15 minutes from anything. Great for relaxing and/or stargazing. Perfect for me and my dog (Lexie).

My wife and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary here, and it was exactly what we needed. A convenient location near the in-laws and just far enough from home to be a getaway. This was one of the best-stocked cabins we've rented, especially for it's size. The setting was relaxing, and the hand-picked fruit was delicious. We highly recommend.

We had a very quiet and peaceful weekend at the tiny cabin. Owners have a very clean well organized little cabin located on their farm. We enjoyed perfect weather on our deck in the evening and a stunning sunrise in the morning. We’re so thankful to have found this place and will likely visit again and again.

Just as advertised small but with all the amenities and some not expected. Bathroom has all the amenities a hotel offers soap shampoo etc. The farm itself is a great space for pets. My large GSD had plenty of room to run. Would highly recommend for a quaint quiet place to relax with everything you need.

Great little cabin!

After a long day of traveling, the tiny cabin on the farm was just what we needed! It was very clean, cozy and quiet. It had a great place for our two dogs to get some exercise - which made them very happy after being cooped up in the car for most of the day. Our host was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
