During the summer months dip your toes in the cool river water, during the late summer and early fall watch the salmon spawning with a backdrop of fall colors and in the winter, stay cozy and warm inside with a frosting of snow along the river's edge. The cabin setting is ideal for a romantic getaway with the cozy wood-filled interior and the sounds of the river flowing by. The spacious en suite bedroom includes a king bed, twin bunk beds and attached bathroom. The modern kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, range with cooktop and full-size oven, microwave, toaster and all of the pots, pans, dishes, serveware and utensils you need to prepare a fantastic meal. Very quiet, relaxing and comfortable cabin. We were there for 10 days and enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon wind sitting by the river. Plenty of hiking around Mt. Hood and fairly short drive to Hood River and Columbia Gorge.

Property is charming and watching and listening to the river from the hot tub; deck or fire pit is super nice and really the best part and why we choose to stay here. The overall setup is ideal for two adults and maybe two smaller kids for a bunk bed situation right off the main bedroom. The bunk beds are pretty small and this tiny room is your only access point to the bathroom- so if you put the kids to bed early; be prepared to go through their bedroom to get to the bathroom. For us this wasn’t a real issue as our son only spent one night with us- but being older and 5’9” he barely fit on the bed-kids can adjust; but I’m glad he didn’t have to stay with us more nights. The bathroom is nicely updated and the shower a pleasant surprise with good pressure and hot water. The downside was the spell from the toilet itself and not being used to a septic system/this was not great/and I dreaded having to go in the bathroom at all. Kitchen was nicely stocked, although we didn’t cook any meals during our stay.
Overall: Pros: nice, rustic stay- it is a cabin and the views are super. Cons: Smelly (fixable?) toilet; noisy critters under the house 2:30am-4am every morning and lots of cobwebs in the skylights.
Would I stay here again; maybe?

I booked a stay for two nights for a semi-romantic get away in the woods. I was definitely looking for a place that was remote with not too many people around. I would say literally the only downside of the location is yes neighbors are close, and the next door neighbor had a kid that was outside being loud the 1st day we were there. But!!! That was the only drawback, and not the fault of the owners of this place. Everything else was perfect. The pictures in the listing don't do the Salmon River justice. It was wonderful being that close to the river. The hot tub was amazing and easy to figure out. Bed was very comfy! I would 100% stay here again. I'm sure it'd be awesome in the winter.

Everything you could possibly need in a charming, well equipped home. We felt at home the moment we arrived. So VERY well equipped, clean, and the fire pit by the river was perfect! The cabin is secluded and right on the river but yet close enough to town for essentials and a good meal out.

A few of the dishes and utensils had food left on them but otherwise we would have never known someone had checked out the day before!

Thistle Dew was absolutely perfect! Everything was very clean and organized and the cabin had everything I needed. The backyard was absolutely gorgeous and the hot tub was a huge bonus! It was close to a grocery store which was a huge help. I would absolutely stay here again.

This was the perfect place to stay. The river is right there and nice to sit and listen to, and catch a glimpse of a fish swimming by every now and then. Close to several hiking options too. We really enjoyed our time there!

Thistle Dew lived up to our expections. The location was perfect for our activities. We really enjoyed the outside sitting area by the Salmon River. Saw a trout swim upstream, mergansers playing around, and kingfishers.

If you are looking for a place where you can relax and enjoy the scenery, this place is for you. Tucked away in Welches, it’s close to all the Mt Hood activities, but very private. With your own access to the river and the hot tub, it was a nice place to relax after hiking. The kitchen is a little sparse, but otherwise a great stay

We were so pleased to find such a beautiful cozy cabin with a wonderful river front yard. The interior of the cabin was woodsy, yet modern and it had everything you need.
We highly recommend it and will probably book another stay in the near future.

The check in was a little bumpy they didnt provide a number to call and i did not receive the email prior, but once we were in the property it was absolutely lovely. Perfect for the weekend, close to all the hiking spots and just what we needed.

As soon as you walk through the front door, you are immediately taken into a different world. The river behind the house is absolute perfection. I had the windows open the whole
time & it was the perfect soundtrack to the relaxing weekend I needed. Plenty of hiking trails within driving distance, and when I wasn't hiking I was sitting by the river or in the hot tub. I can't wait to come back!

Absolute Perfection!
This cabin was amazing. Tucked in the woods, along a beautiful river, but still close to amenities. There are other cabins nearby, but you’d never know it. It’s so quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Amazing location!
We fell in love with the property as soon as we opened the door and saw the view. The house was cozy (read small), but laid out in a way that fit our family of 4 just fine, was very clean and updated. The hot tub was awesome and much needed after a day on the mountain.

Gorgeous River Property
I fell in love with this property while viewing the photos online and it did not disappoint in person! Beautiful and convenient location to amazing hiking in the area. The cabin is simple but perfect in its details. We appreciated so many things including the clean, well-maintained hot tub, good mattresses, and the new living room furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed. We had a fabulous 11-night stay and would book again in a heartbeat if we are back in the same area! Thank you!

Lovely Cabin Close to Hiking
We found Thistle Dew to be a perfect spot for easy access to trailheads in Mt Hood National Forest. Unwinding in the hot tub at the end of the day was the perfect way to soothe tired muscles. The bed was comfy, the kitchen was well-stocked with supplies, and the living area was cozy. Communication with the property owner on a few minor items was completely satisfactory. Enjoyed our stay!

Quiet Cabin on the River
This cabin was perfect for our Mt Hood mountain biking vacation. The living room was great for hanging out and watching the deer and the river right out the back door. Wood stove inside made for fast warming up. Didn't use the hot tub, but it looked to be in good condition. A decent amount of kitchen items so that we could cook a couple nights. Coffee maker was a bit dated, but it still tasted great, so not a problem. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot, and the couch was soft. Overall, wonderful accommodation.

My wife and I had the most relaxing time at the cabin. Everything from the fresh air, hot tub and overwhelming calmness was what we needed. The cabin, although surround by others is still very private due to all of the trees. Nearby trails and scenic drives made it worthwhile. The only thing we had trouble adjusting to was having so many large termites crawling around, as well as the septic tank smell in the restroom. Other than that, we will be booking this place again! We definitely recommend!
