Overall impression needs some love and work doing on Gite and gardens to be more welcoming.

Good location for walking into Castelnaudary. Covered parking. Swimming pool looked nice although not private as hosts property and patio area alongside it - Didn't use as weather inclement, Comfortable bed and pillows.

Musky damp smell that greeted us on entering the property, which was coming from the bathroom. Flooring in bathroom as it was painted crazy paving slabs - very uneven and cold and lighting very poor. Inadequate lighting in the open plan living area - no lighting above the kitchen units which were along the back wall of living area. Very low beam above bed which was on the mezzanine floor and rather steep open stairs. Bedlinen needs upgrading to cotton - not polyester as too clingy. Not very comfortable sofa (which we think converted to a bed) as very small not suitable to relaxing on. Nowhere to put suitcases/bags except on floor. Not suitable for elderly or anyone with physical difficulties or young children.

Great surroundings but actual Gite not comfortable

The property was beautifully situated with access to MIDI Canal and walking tracks

Firstly I have never actually written a review about any hotel or property but felt I should do so. The actual Gite was more of a studio with a small double bed upstairs. The stairs were quite steep and the roof line wooden beams were very low, which meant you had to be very careful you did not “hit” your head. The property is described as a 2 chambre property which is clearly not the case as the second bed is a very small one person sofa that converts if needed (a child size bed) in the downstairs kitchen area. The lack of wifi was very frustrating and if it did work, which would be only for 5 minutes or less after we requested the hosts to reboot the system, made our travel planning, work and personal contact very difficult. I also contacted the property twice, once through booking.com and email re time arrival and a query re local supermarkets etc in preparation for our stay without reply so maybe because of the wifi issues they did not receive. There were other small issues but that is what travel is about. Sadly the property was not suited for us and we did not continue our second night stay.
