About this cabin rental

Welcome to Lazy Days Cabin! A half mile from Kanopolis Lake, the cabin is about 30 miles southwest of Salina and ½ hour from I-70 or I-135. The 1 main bedroom, 1 bath cabin sleeps 6 with a loft and pullout sofa.

The dog-friendly cabin combines rustic charm with modern amenities including a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and two smart TVs. The interior features pine log walls and vaulted ceilings. Relax outside on the screened-in porch or the private patio in back. Come enjoy the peacefulness!

THE SPACE
• Fully equipped kitchen plus gas grill on the patio.
• Dining table and patio table (with umbrella) each seat six.
• Kitchen table seats four.
• Two Roku TVs with YouTube TV and Netflix included.
• Wi-Fi (The internet service is thru a cellular company and may have intermittent issues. We feel fortunate to have an option in this remote area that works well.)
• Living room TV stand stocked with board games and playing cards.
• Beach towels provided.
• There is one outside security camera on the front of the carport that has the capability to record audio and video. The security inside the cabin is there only to alert you audibly if the front door or patio door is open.
• The loft area is appropriate for older children and adults. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult while in the loft.

GUEST ACCESS
Guests have full access of the cabin. There is a carport for parking a vehicle or boat. There is also ample parking in the gravel driveway for vehicles.

ADDITIONAL RULES
• Community quiet hours 10 pm – 8 am.
• Smoking and vaping are permitted outside. Smoking indoors will result in a $200 cleaning fee being charged. Please used the metal pails provided on the patio and near the carport to extinguish cigarettes/cigars. Do not throw butts on the ground, especially on dry grass or in the pasture beside the cabin.
• Fireplace is non-functioning, use only with the provided battery-operated candles. No wood burning fires allowed on the property. We do offer a gas fire column on the patio for your use.
• Turn off propane cylinders on patio when not in use (gas grill and fire column.)
• Septic safe toilet paper and liquid laundry detergent only and limited amounts are provided. Paper towels, food, grease or feminine products will damage the septic system if flushed or put down the drain.
• You are welcome to bring your ATV, but please no racing throughout the neighborhood.
• The loft area is appropriate for older children and adults. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult while in the loft.
• There is one security camera in the carport. We ask that renters do not touch, mess with, or cover the camera. It also requires internet, so do not turn off the router inside the cabin.
• We are a dog-friendly cabin. We do ask that you crate your dog(s) if you leave them alone at the cabin. We offer three sizes of dog crates under the master bed for your use. There is a small, medium, and large along with crate pads. If you need a different size, please bring crate(s) with you for your dog(s). We also provide sofa-covers and a master bed cover. We also ask that you don't leave any dogs alone in the screened in porch area, as they may tear the screen.

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE
Lazy Days Cabin is located on the edge of a small cabin community one half mile north of Kanopolis Lake. Opened in 1948, the 3,500-acre reservoir offers fishing, boating, and swimming. Refer to ksoutdoors.com for all the rules and regulations around the lake. Beginning in 2022 Hart Marina now has a pontoon boat, Sea-Doo personal watercraft, kayaks and a golf cart available for rent. For more details and reservations visit hartmarina.com. (The marina is closed from November - mid-March.)

Surrounding the lake is a 12,500-acre wildlife area with opportunities for hunting and more than 30 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and ATV’s. Explore sandstone bluffs and the caves and crevices of Horsethief Canyon, and you will be rewarded with stunning views of the Smoky Hills’ rugged beauty. Kanopolis State Park was the first state park in Kansas, and the Army Corps of Engineers operates two federal parks at the lake. North of the lake is Mushroom State Park, a picnic area with unusual geological formations. The Kansas Motorcycle Museum in Marquette, the Fort Harker Guard House Museum in Kanopolis, and shopping and art showcasing Lindsborg’s Swedish heritage are all within a half hour’s drive.

Our backyard neighbors are totally off-grid...how cool is that! They use small wind-powered generators for electricity, so do know that this system is next-door and is doing its part to create Earth friendly electricity for them.

We love our dogs and know you love yours too. Please let us know if you have a furry traveler with you so we can accommodate. There will be a $25 pet fee added.

During the winter months, we understand that weather plays an important part in vacation travel plans. If inclement weather hits and you are unable to get to the cabin or need to leave early because of weather, we will work with you on your reservation fees. We have provided a snow shovel and ice melt for guests to use as needed. Before your arrival, we will strive to have cleared walkways for you. If large amounts of snow would fall during your stay, a local neighbor is willing to come open up the driveway for guests. In the past few years, Kansas hasn't gotten much snow during the winter, but we have plans in place for our guests just in case we do get accumulated amounts.

We hope you book a stay and enjoy a getaway in our cabin!

We loved our 3 nights at the cabin. It was so clean and so furnished, everything we could want or need was there. We did not need the loft, but it looked so nice! The main bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was so well stocked. We loved the front screen in porch (where the dogs sat with us every morning while we drank our coffee as sun rose). We also ate dinner every evening on the back patio, that was very nice. And we were surprised no mosquitos! We did not get to fish as the marina was closed and we were planning on buying live bait there. Google said the town of Brookville had a bait shop, but they had none. But we still enjoyed ourselves, walking around the trails by the lake, walking around the neighborhood near the cabin, going to Marquette (highly recommend Piper's Grocery!) for ice cream sodas and strolling the park, and my husband loved the motorcycle museum! We went and walked around Coronado Castle and went to explore the town of Lindsborg, but it started to rain so didn't get to see as much of this cute town as we would have liked. Communication with Lori was great! We were very happy with everything. It is not always easy to find a place that will take 2 dogs, even small quiet ones like mine, but everything there was very dog friendly. I hope we get a chance to come back. We have stayed at many rentals all over, and this one is definitely one of our favorites! Oh, be sure and visit the Mushroom Rock Park, it is fun to see!

Wonderful home! So clean and organized. The little details that Lori has are so sweet. Great host!! The home is well stocked with everything you need and more. The decor is very welcoming. We took 2 dogs with our girl trip. The dogs had so much fun they slept for a day after getting home. Can’t wait to go back!
