Goderich is a beautiful little town we will visit again but stay elsewhere !!

We ate out of the hotel.

This hotel is very tired!!! We have booked many hotels with booking.com. These accommodations were definitely unacceptable. We will not stay here again or recommend it to anyone!

Old worldly hotel in middle of old town.

Great location. Right on CourthouseSquare which is the centre of the old town. Walking distance to some very good restaurants and shops. It’s an old worldly hotel which I like. Many former guests have commented on the faded glory of the place, but it still has it’s charm. I’d guess it was built in the 1880’s (?). Rooms are very clean, the bed comfortable and air conditioning. There provide a morning breakfast with great coffee until 11am. If you just want to grab a coffee and drink in your room or to go, no problem, they provide paper cups with lids. There’s also a bar and restaurant below with live music on the Friday/ Saturday we were there. Fun way to finish the evening.

Some reviews complain about the lack of an elevator as there are three floors. For people with mobility issues this would be a problem. Otherwise no big deal, especially if you’re on the second floor. The front desk service is minimal, but that’s reflected in the price.

You get what you pay for!

Location, very fast check in and check out, polite and friendly employees, bed was decent

The hotel is quite old and there was no elevator access(that I know of). It is quite difficult to climb up to the third floor a few times. The room was not very clean. Dead flies on the window sills, carpets have not been vacuumed for a long time and the toilet was dirty.

This was one of the worst places that I have ever stayed and I travel a lot for work.

dirty, parking, smell, air conditioner leaking and floor was wet, lady at front counter was not polite or pleasant, paper thin walls and could hear the room beside us up all night, The "private staff room" we could hear them partying. there was NOTHING about our stay that we liked.

Breakfast was cancelled one of the days due to some other event they were hosting, they did not try to accommodate guests, needs.

The location is great, right on the square.

Staff are totally uncaring and lack knowledge. They could not answer simple questions about events in the town including the car show that happened on the square across the street. Room was dirty including gritty floor and trash in the bins from whoever was in last.

Enjoyed Staying in such a Historical Hotel

The Bedford is a piece of history, and being in the town square is what makes this place so exceptional. The breakfast was decent, and was available until 11, which was nice for those who like to sleep in a bit. The room was fine, with great tv!

Overall the hotel needs a facelift. It's not dirty or creepy, but it's old. The biggest challenge is the stairs. It's only 2 floors up to the top floor, but there are alot of stairs, so if mobility is a challenge, you couldn't stay here. The bed was a bit soft for my liking, but the bedding was super comfortable.

There was nobody at the entrance, had to go to the restaurant beside them to sign in. Carpets are all worn, and in bedroom curtains were not hung properly floor was totally uneven we roll the can from the top to the bottom, and it went down all by itself. it is a beautiful building but not properly maintained. Although the beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft room was clean, but certainly needed some TLC. The continental breakfast was decent.

Our stay was enjoyable!

Centrally located and spacious, this hotel was good value for money.

You get what you pay for. The property must have been quite grand years ago but the carpets need replacement. Having said that, you can see that much effort has been put towards keeping everything clean.

Exceptional

The property was in excellent condition and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We got there closer to 9 pm, while check in was at 4, and it was no problem. Paddy O’neils, the restaurant at the property that is open until 11, handles late check-ins and is also the only place serving food past 8 pm.

The bedroom was too small, also there was like a stinch to the place, at one point in between my shower the water literally stopped. And, the carpets on the bedroom were sticky
