About this cabin rental

Feel at home! Nestled in the pines, this year round family-friendly cabin is conveniently located one block from the lake, adjacent to historic Old Brockway Golf Course, minutes to Northstar California Resort and downtown Kings Beach. The central location allows for easy access to all that North Lake Tahoe has to offer, but the ability to relax in the mountains in a quiet neighborhood. The cabin is located around the corner from Safeway and Spindleshanks restaurant (the best kept secret on the north shore!)

About the cabin:

As you walk in the door, you are welcomed by refinished original hardwood floors throughout, a cozy living room with a large sectional, a gas fireplace, 65” TV, and massive picture windows with views of pines. Walk down the hall to the master bedroom with a comfy king bed and large his/hers closets across from one of the bathrooms. The magazine worthy kitchen, with custom alder cabinetry and marble countertops, is next to the dining room. The adjoining dining area comfortably seats 8 and boasts a bar and beverage fridge.

The sliding barn door in the dining room takes you to the upstairs level with a queen bedroom next to a den with a queen bed, couch and electric fireplace.

A newly renovated one bedroom apartment with a separate AND conjoining entrance has a full kitchen, full bath, and separate washer/dryer on the bottom level. Perfect separate space for grandparents, a couple, or anyone who wants a little extra privacy (pictures coming soon).

The house has three floors. The main floor (with kitchen, living area and dining room) has the master bedroom with king bed across from a full bathroom. Upstairs, there is a bedroom with a queen bed and when you step out of that bedroom, you are in the den area with another queen bed. You have to walk through one to get to the other. On the bottom level, there is separate living area with a queen bedroom, bathroom be full kitchen. This gives the opportunity for some extra privacy- it has a separate entrance and has the option to connect to the main house through an indoor stairwell. Could be used as in-law quarters!

During the summer, enjoy a spacious flat yard with a large patio, hot tub, gas fire pit, outdoor dining area, gas barbeque and yard games.

About the area:

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the easy access to beautiful beaches with paddle board, kayak, parasailing and jet-ski rentals in walking distance. Head out the front door and straight down the street to the golf course and three lakefront beach volleyball courts. Or head out the back door and up the street to connect to North Tahoe Regional Park, which offers hiking and mountain biking trails, disc golf course, olympic sized turf field, two playgrounds with swings, tennis courts, and Treetop Adventure Park.

In the winter months, Northstar California Resort is a 12 minute drive where you can enjoy over 3,000 skiable acres in the majestic Martis Valley with a variety of slopes to suit every level of skier. The resort boasts world class terrain parks, a youth Adventure Park, cross country skiing and a 9,000 square foot ice rink surrounded by cozy fire pits. There is also plenty of shopping and dining! Diamond Peak, Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows are other nearby world class ski resorts. The North Tahoe Regional Park Sled Hill is a family favorite to enjoy the outdoors during the winter.

Parking information:
Ample parking down the long driveway. The porch sheds onto part of the driveway so please refrain from parking under the overhang during the winter to avoid any snow damage. Please adhere to Caltrans traffic advisories during winter storms. Snow tires or 4-wheel drive may be required. Vehicles may be towed from May-November if they are parked on the street in the way of snowplows.

Other things to note:
This home will be stocked with a starter set of consumables such as soaps and paper products. Guests are advised to either bring or purchase additional after arrival.
Patio furniture and barbeque might not be available in the winter and late fall.
The property has a metal roof from which snow & ice can slide causing serious injury to those below. Children should never be allowed to play unsupervised outside when snow loads exist on the roof. People should never walk under the eaves of the property when snow load is present on the roof.
Due to the regularity of fires in the greater area, air quality is not an exception to our cancellation policy.

*Important: We support and comply with the Placer County Short Term Rental Ordinances which strictly enforces the following:
1. Quiet hours shall be imposed from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time
2. No open wood burning fires
3. All trash inside closed bear boxes
Neighbors have access to a 24 hour hotline to complain. Fines and fees related to verified complaints will be passed on to you through VRBO or Placer County.

A really cute cottage, with old world charm and modern kitchens/bathrooms. Good location, walkable to Kings Beach, local restaurants and golf course. Really well equipped including some basic cooking ingredients. Lots of towels too. All in all a lovely place to stay.

The house was perfect for our family’s needs. We appreciated the proximity to the grocery store, beach, and restaurants. The updated kitchen and bathrooms were particularly nice. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the large backyard with cornhole and hot tub, as well as the sand toys and beach chairs. The wifi performed excellently for remote work. Would certainly stay here again!

This was a great house in a central location and quiet neighborhood. We stayed here with family right after the holidays and it was convenient to Northstar where we skied. The house is updated and had everything we needed. Chelsea was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Loved the property, was better in person than what we saw on the web. Only recommendations, for Corn hole, we could only find one bean bag, and had to share that. Also if there were more cooking POTS that would have been great. The linens and towels were awesome.....I am going in search to buy some of the same for my home! Other than that, it was a great time and we want to go back for Christmas if it is open!

We enjoyed our stay this past week. Everything was set up to make it easy for us to just move in. We were impressed with the thoughtful and tasteful furnishings and particularly appreciated the Keurig coffee, lovely sheets and towels, cookware and spices provided. There were some fun games that we enjoyed as well. We were so busy driving to area beaches (and enjoying the folding chairs and portable cooler!) that we never got to use the hot tub!! The only thing that we would have added is more coffee cups. Thank you. Mary

My husband, kids and myself stayed several nights at this beautiful cabin in early July. The communication with the owner was wonderful. She was very responsive and went out of her way to give us great suggestions for local activities and places to eat. The cabin is much larger than pictured with 3 levels giving our family our own spaces to relax. The downstairs basement is basically it's own small apartment with a stand alone kitchen. The owners have thought of everything and the attention to detail was amazing. Don't forget there is a beautiful backyard with a jacuzzi, cornhole, gas fireplace, bbq and large patio table. You can walk to Safeway, restaurants and the beach so we didn't need to do much driving. We look forward to renting this property again in the near future!
