Apparently when Deb and Dustin first started renting this home on VRBO it may have been a nice rental which is why initially it got some decent reviews. It is in a decent location as well. Here's where our problems with the property started, if needed I have supporting pictures as to not be called a liar by the owner. I tried to resolve the main issue (#1) amicably but am now in the process of resolving it in another manner. 1) The sofa was filthy with dog urine and feces stains, the most disgusting thing about the property was the sofa, so bad that .my wife and I had to sit on hard dinette chairs to watch TV in what should be a comfortable place to relax, it was just unbelievably disgusting. I've rented many pet friendly places on VRBO, Pet Friendly should never be an excuse for filth but in this case it was. 2) The refrigerator had a box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda in it to catch odors, the problem is the box was from when Arm & Hammer first started the company, the box itself was moldy as well and smelled bad. There was food in both the fridge and freezer, not sure why you would leave food in the refrigerator of rental property others are going to be using? 3) There is a large very dark yard, don't expect to grill anything on the gas grill once the sun goes down, there is absolutely no lighting on the back of the home so we couldn't grill our steaks outdoors because I didn't have a flashlight to do my grilling. 3) The yard and all around the property looks as though a fall cleanup hadn't been done in many years, lots of leaves, branches and other debris littered the yard. 4) We only used one bedroom, the dresser drawers would not open or close properly but to be fair I checked all the bedrooms which were at least neat and decent. The bathroom was clean as well which is a plus but doesn't negate the bad. I was looking for a reasonable outcome with the owner but instead what I ended up with was a threatening email from VRBO telling me not to contact the owner or they will contact the authorities, not very professional if you ask me and illegal as well, I have a legal right to speak with this owner to resolve the issues amicably. NOT AT ALL PROFESSIONAL! My request in case anyone wants to know was a one night refund, now it is being disputed through American Express under the guidance of our attorney.

We rented this cottage in Barnstable/ Hyannis towards the end of August. The property was as advertised. Location was very convenient, close to groceries, restaurants and many beaches. The property was clean and kitchen well stocked. Two things were a little uncomfortable at first (compared to other properties that take pets): pet’s smell was a little string for the first couple of days which was easily solved. The backyard is great for kids and furry friends! But there is no light if you want to have a barbecue or hang out at night. The host was very responsive and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. This is definitely a property we will return to in the future!!!!!

Great for family and pet friendly!
Great for family and pet friendly!
My husband, two children, our dog and I felt like we were at home away from home in this rental. The owners have thought of everything to make you feel at home and never miss a beat. The outdoor space is so spacious. We hosted our extended family for outdoor fun and s'mores around the fire pit, there was a total of 15 of us and we still had plenty of space to play yard games and the kids could run around too. The house is in a great location, close to 6A the main road for the Cape, about 10 minutes to Hyannis Main St, Craigville Beach, the mall, and tons of other attractions. The check-in/check-out process is easy and straight forward. This rental is a gem and we hope to stay again next summer for our family vacation! Thank you Deb!
