The bathroom was dirty. Hair on the floor, in the sink, tub and toilet. Also feces in the toilet. Stains on carpet, couch and walls. I think the bed linings were the only clean part of the room.

The accommodations were comfortable for my 86 years young mother and my younger sister. Easy access to the building with peace and quiet from the nearby highway.

The hotel needs repairs in the hallwsys. There was a leak in the hallway and walls need to be painted. The bathroom and room was nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. One door handle was broken but it was repaired the next day. The garden and lake views at night were great.

This property is gorgeous! The room is a bit small, but it it is immaculately clean, as is every guest area I have accessed. The entire place is old world opulent, yet still very warm and inviting. I would definitely stay here again!

Everything was very nice EXCEPT for the air conditioning compressor! It was so loud, kicked on and off often, loudly, that we turned off the system so we could sleep! Seriously, terrible for what we expected from a Hilton, much less one so upscale.

We’re from Norfolk go home to visit a few times a year. I’ve been there for conferences but never to stay. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. There is plenty to do there such as the restaurant, pools, spa, play area for kids, or just walk around the grounds to look at the gardens. The location is quiet and central to everything being so close to 64. It’s going to be our new spot to stay when we don’t want to bunk with our kids! We went to a concert and it’s really close to the amphitheater.

Room met expectations. Swimming pool…not so. Pool towels were size of hand towels. Virtually all white plastic loungers were cracked and most ant infested. Pool needed resurfacing with much evidence of missing plaster on the bottom. Dining at dinner was leisurely. Despite there being very few guests stall was inattentive. Food was fine. Breakfast buffet…no complaints. Overall didn’t meet my hopes for our 52nd wedding anniversary celebration which was not even acknowledged.

Checked in to a dog barking next door and a broken AC. called the front desk, on hold for ten minutes. Packed up and went back to front desk and asked for a new room. Just a pain and wasted an hour

Perfect property for beach lovers who don’t like the party atmosphere on the boardwalk. Took advantage of the restaurant, business office, pool, and spa. Everyone we interacted with on the staff was pleasant and helpful.

Loved this hotel! Would definitely stay here again. It was convenient, nice ambience, felt safe & lots of amenities. Enjoyed walking the grounds of the nearby university as well. Only reason I didn’t rate it excellent in all subject matters was there were areas that you can tell hadn’t been cleaned often like entry way/hallway to stairwells. Dead bugs, cobwebs, dirty.

The hotel itself was very nice. Their pools Are a great addition to their hotel as well. I really liked this place besides how dusty our bed area was. Me and my partner could not stop sneezing due to the amount of dust around our bed. This morning we found more dust flying in the air after moving the bedding around. Besides that the staff is very nice and professional.

This was our first time staying at Founders Inn, however it will not be our last. The amenities were excellent and the atmosphere outstanding. We were able to take an impromptu beach trip away from the July 4th crowds at the waterfront.

The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms have recently been renovated and are kept in great condition. The front desk staff were extremely welcoming, helpful, and friendly and gave us great directions for how to find our room. My only complaint about my stay is that staff tried to enter my room twice, early in the morning, despite the “do not disturb” sign on my door. They knocked and when I did not respond, they tried to enter - well before my check out time. It disrupted my sleep and frightened me and I hope that in the future, the signs on doors are not ignored. I would stay here again though and did not experience any other issues.

Staff got us early. Great room dinner at the resturant was AMAZING. We had new york strip and rib eye. Great chef and back of house staff!!! Love the peperty and flavored water. Very nice touch Only two things goose poop around the pond. Inability to order mixed drinks from the bar and take to the resturant or ground. Love this place!

Beautiful property with lots of outdoor benches around a pond with fountain. Nice outdoor room. Room was very clean and beautifully decorated. Very comfortable bed, nice tiled shower with glass door, lots of drawer and closet space, mini fridge and coffee pot, and separate sink area in room with vanity and a magnifying light up wall mirror. Access to sitting area with fire place on ground floor for guests and vending machines for drinks and snacks. We were in a separate building from the main building next to the pool. Very quiet and peaceful stay. Highly recommend!
