Wonderful friendly and helpful staff. My room was comfortable, clean with a lovely view overlooking the Caribbean sea. Entertainment diringvthe day and the evening was professional and fun. The only area i did feel good improve was the range of fodds at the buffet restaurant.

The staff was amazing, friendly and always greeted us while passing.
Some areas inside where too hot to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
3.8
There was a lot of cockroaches in the villa we stayed, Our air conditioning failed, they cut off the water in the toilets,Thank God everything was fixed but it was a lot of trouble, Apart from that the staff was very friendly.

This was my first time ever visiting Cancun and I was extremely disappointed! I try to keep an open mind when visiting new places, but I just couldn't here. The food was terrible here. The pancakes were very thick and not cooked through, the bacon didn’t even taste like real bacon, the cheeseburger was mushy and didn’t taste like real beef. Luckily, we were able to get help and order Dominos pizza to at least be able to eat during this trip. We ate at the Italian restaurant the first night for dinner (no reservation required) but he food there was terrible as well. We tried to eat there again Saturday night and get plain pasta with garlic or butter sauce but when we arrived, we were told we needed a reservation (We were only told that the Mexican Restaurant and Seafood restaurant required reservations by Miguel when we first arrived) so we were turned away. We were able to acquire a reservation for Mexico Lindo on the last night and surprisingly the food there and the service was great! Our room was only serviced on the second day, but it seems as though only the beds were made. The floors were not swept or mopped; the mini bar was not restocked. The beds were uncomfortable, and the pillows were thin and flat, It was very warm in our building, water in the shower would just go cold and shut off.Work was going on outside the hotel and was being done at midnight in our building and it was loud.It took me a while to save up money for this trip and I feel it was wasted.

I have stayed in Cancun many times and I like to try a new resort each time. Occidental Tucancún has topped it for the worst! I tend to be more open minded while on vacation but it was even hard to do so with this resort! I went with a group of 5 girls to celebrate a 40th birthday and the resort was a disaster! The view was great! Ocean is right there with beautiful blue water! We eventually made the best out of it but we will never go back to occidental tuncun again. I truly hope this review will help someone bc I thought I did my research and clearly I missed something during that!
No ac through the property
Buffett was small and not a good selection
Stayed at an ALL INCLUSIVE & ordered Dominoes.
No ac in restaurants
Bacon was not “real bacon” more like a wild hog
Bartenders were so nice and drinks were always on point
Ac in room would not go past 77°. Maintenance said that is normal!
Showering? Water will turn off a few times.
Toilet stopped flushing. Called maintenance 3 times!
Room cleaning service will only give you 1 towel per 3 people in a room.
Mini fridge was stocked stocked less and less each day.
Bedding was below average. Hard beds. 2 long thin pillows.
Rooms are not swept and mopped daily. Prepare for sand to be all over the floor.
Trying to sleep? You will hear people yelling and screaming at each other all night!
They have 3 restaurants to make reservations at: seafood, Italian and Mexican. Mexican was the best and treated us with respect.

I don’t like because they close the pool and the access to the beach to early

Had a great time here! If you want decent food for cheap this is the place. All hotels in Cancun seem to be similar for food with the all inclusive so for the price it’s just right. Bell guys are awesome! They are very sweet and helpful.

I stayed in this hotel 6 nights and everything in the hotel was good but just the food was almost the same every day and the staff was nice and I saw them working hard keeping this property nice and clean every day. I enjoyed my stay overall.
3.8
The resort was beautiful and the staff was very nice and helpful
3.8
The staff was very professional....the property was very clean....the only improvement would be the main dining...we had same basic menu everyday
The specialty restaurant -seafood was excellent
Overall I had a great time.....very nice resort

My family and I had a great time at this resort. We loved the dining options as well as the food. Our room was very clean and cold AC.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, we also enjoyed the daily activities at the pool and the entertainment in the evening was enjoyable. A great family vacation.

property need a little more TLC. most of staff were not so great. Time share staff too aggressive and not courteous. one thing great about this place was the shows they have at the auditorium. Would not stay at this place again!.

The resort was small which we liked. We were there during the end of a tropical storm so there was a lot of rain forcing us all inside. The hotel did the best they could keeping everything dry. The staff made attempts at inside entertainment. The bartenders and waiters were all great.
Now the bad. I was not expecting the food to be very good based on other reviews and I did find it bland and very repetitive. The the worst part was that towards the end of the trip, several of us began to have GI issues. That continued even after we were home and one of our group had to go to the doctor. It turns out she had ecoli and cyclospora. It has been 3 weeks and some of us are stilll not fully recovered.
Also, although they advertise beach volleyball, which we love to play, the net was broken and they finally just took it down.
Based on the food, sanitation of something (most likely food) and lack of beach volleyball, we would not return to this resort.

I thought that overall the staff were kind. The bathrooms is the pool area were gross and falling apart. The lounger chairs were worn down and we had to go early in the morning each day to ensure we saved a chair that was sagging and falling apart. There also were no umbrellas on the beach (only palm trees that were watered once a week). I thought the food was pretty good but would have enjoyed more Mexican food (we were there for two weeks and only saw tacos at the buffet once-guac and nachos weren't served often). We were happy with our room and had a beautiful ocean view. Shower temps fluctuated but the pressure was good. The evening entertainment was hit and miss. I enjoyed the theme nights. If you enjoy the a la carte meals, this place would not be for you. There were only 2 restaurants and reservations could only be made day of and in person. Beds were pretty good.

Our experience at this hotel was profoundly disappointing, to the extent that it barely warrants a detailed account. The food frequently lacked freshness, and the service staff exhibited consistently poor attitudes. The air conditioning was inadequate throughout the entire facility. Furthermore, the lack of hygiene was evident.

Don’t do it. We’ve traveled a lot over the years. I’ve never left a review like this. I could leave a ten page review, but to sum up- the food is awful, and by awful I mean food poison rendering- we flat out stopped eating/drinking awful, the premium is useless (seriously- we received not one perk, not even the promised welcome gift), there’s no one to reach out to while there if you have issues (front desk doesn’t even answer the phone), the pools close early, there are no umbrellas on the beach so very few people were ever on the beach, the rules are unclear and you’re met with rudeness often by staff, they definitely cater to Spanish speaking guests, the drinks were mostly awful, our premium room flooded so badly with the rain my son’s suitcase was soaked through (no hotel response), the same son had no bed in spite of our request before arrival and slept on the couch without a pillow or blanket for two days in spite of our repeated requests, you’re constantly approached for time share presentations, we ordered boxed lunches for an excursion (premium perk supposedly) and did not receive them the day of, there was significant noise late at night (which was so weird because everything was closed), there’s little to no entertainment or activities, upon bringing much of this to the resort’s attention they did absolutely nothing… I could go on and on and on. This “vacation” was only stress, misery and frustration. Spend your hard earned money somewhere worth it.

My grandson got salmonella. I think there is lots of cross contamination with meats, seafood and poultry. There were many flies around the breads and plates.
3.8
We had reserved beach view. We got stuck in partial, corner obstructed view. Second day we were placed in a matchbox like, smelly dingy, (because AC was out) also cornered room. Last room placed was ok. Then hurricane came the last 2 days of our stay, and that really topped it off. Sliding door leaked water all night long. The rubber that’s supposed to make them stay together was obviously broken, also the handle too. We had to use towels to keep water from coming in front and back of room. Cause in the front, the emergency door broke. So it was opened all night, and of course water got in. This was a nightmare stay! When I asked Sandra for discounted for a future stay offer, she deny it. Mind you, we had our room changed 3 times in a 5 day stay. 😡 I mean the least you could do, was offer some sort of recompense. Since day one, I had mentioned we were there to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday.

Really friendly staff.

We were in hurricane Beryl during our stay. The staff was wonderful. They kept us safe, updated, and accommodated. We had an excellent trip.

I Didn’t like the old furniture and the old building

We love everything there!!!

We got to the Hotel and was given a downgraded room. They then moved us to a room that was very small and not having a bed for my son. We were then moved again to a room with view and patio with double beds which is what we paid for. Only to have problem with slider closing. Moved again to a much nicer room only for that room to have a flood due to rain coming in. The whole Hotel was leaking once the rain started. Water in the hall, rooms and restaurants. The furniture all around the Hotel smell like dog hair. The food selections was not great. The special restaurants seafood food selection was minimal food was not good. There was not much to do. Entertainment was for Spanish speaking people only. The staff was inviting and pleasant and they did their best to communicate with us. Housekeeping also cleaned the room and left it tidy. They only restocked the minibar once by request. All in all the Hotel was not handicap accessible. The views were amazing. All in all we were moved 4 times which was very inconvenient to my entire family. Irritating time share people but was given free items there so that was okay I guess.

T.V., mini fridge, and sliding door wasn't working! Front lock was ready yo break and fall off! And many mire complaints thar I will be emailing and complaining about! Not to mebtion that they sais they gave me a double bed instead of king size bed as i had requested was because i booked through Expedia (which that should not matter who i booked from) Will never recommend this hotel to anyone
3.8
The employees were very attentive. You need to improve the infrastructure and room
Conditions and u will be a real Barcelo
3.8
Considering the price, the property overall is good.

Property was nicely kept. All workers very friendly. No one expects a tip but is very happy when you give one. Our TVs never worked but I didn’t complain because we didn’t go to watch TV. We had some roaches in RR but we were in a villa and first floor (rainy season) so didn’t make a fuss as well. Food was good! I have an autistic child who is a picky eater and everyday we found food she liked! I would definitely recommend.
3.8
The food was the same everyday for lunch and the beach was dirty with seaweed
3.8
Terrible food

Entertainment by the pool was very fun for the whole family. Hotel staff was annoying at the beginning of the trip trying to force you into getting a time share with them. They were wasting our time when all we wanted to do was explore. Kids club was closed due weather most of the trip but it hadnt been raining when we wanted to go. The villa family room would get hot if you didn’t leave all the doors open. They were also only one ramp pretty far from our villa so you had to go up stairs everytime you wanted to get to the lobby. They also charged us $20 more than the anticipated price of taxes. Food at the buffet was always the same throughout the days. 5/10 overall
