The walkabity of this location is an absolute zero. It’s liberally in between two highways lol. With they said, the location is good. No drug dealers or delinquents staying there. A lot of business professionals and pilots/stewardess staying there. There’s a Starbucks on site which doesn’t scan for points and a restaurant. There’s only one washer and dryer if you need to wash clothes. I had no issues here. The lack of walkability probably helps in hindsight to keep hood rats away.

The lower rating is due to Shuttle Service from the airport. There are a number of "Courtyard by Marriott" hotels. The meeting place for the Shuttle was a mystery. The shuttle drivers seemed uncertain as well, many giving different answers. I was unable to get through to the hotel staff after numerous attempts.
Short story long, P4 is the place to be, but still, make sure the driver is aware of the address "1 and 9". Yes, a strange address that is close to where the hotel actually is.

The hotel said provide airport shuttle and we had been waited more than one hours and driver didn't showed up, I kept calling to hotel from desk and she said the driver went to put in gas. And that was past midnight already and I stood there freezing. This is the first time have this bad experience.

The location of this hotel is not easy to get to and there are no restaurants, shops, cafes, or other amenities within walking distance. They charge $50 for early check in

This is an airport hotel, and delivers what you expect and need. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable enough, and the breakfast was ok. We had a room facing the highway, so this might put you off if you're a very light sleeper. Ask for a courtyard room if that's the case. It didn't bother us.
Appreciate the free shuttle to and from Newark airport.

This hotel was clean and had easy access to Newark. The walls were a little thin as I could hear my neighbor’s TV but they were respectful of the time of night.

Over priced food options. Had to pay to park. Pool was closed and there was no mention of it when we booked. Tub in the bathroom wasn’t the greatest and you constantly standing in water.

Very outdated compared to the other Courtyard Marriott hotels I’ve stayed in. Faucet leaked … dresser was all scratched up. Everything in the room looked old and nothing like what I expected. The lobby was nice

The bed and pillows were wonderful!!! Food at the Bistro was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. Everything was made to order.

Free shuttle to and from Newark was nice to help get to train station. No complimentary breakfast or coffee at this Courtyard. Staff was friendly.

We were pretty dissatisfied with our room. The toliet didn’t flush, the shower didn’t drain and the handle of the balcony door broke as soon as we touched it. Considering we were on the first floor we ended up pushing a chair in front of it. The shower floor was also dirty and stained black. Had high expectations but sadly was not impressed.
