This hotel was my favorite during my cross country road trip. It appeared to be run by either one or two young couples who were super nice and helpful. They took great care of the grounds and the rooms were clean and spacious. The motel itself is a single story. I was using a scooter while battling a broken foot and had no issues getting around the parking lot or in/out of the room. There was a 1-2" curb from the parking lot directly in front of my room. There was probably a ramp at the end of the walkway, but I didn't need it for my scooter. There was a grab-n-go style breakfast in the morning with plenty of options for anyone. There are also several food options a few minutes down the road for lunch or dinner. Parking was easy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable! Perhaps most importantly, I felt safe as a female traveler with a dog. I took puppers outside at night with no worries and she had a clean, safe area to go potty. Highly recommend!

The first set of key cards did not work; the desk clerk had to program a second set. During the first night, the toilet stopped flushing. I fixed the problem by reconnecting the chain to the flush handle. It came apart again on the last night. The housekeeping staff was on top of things making sure we had fresh towels and letting maintenance know about the toilet.

We absolutely loved the nostalgic vibe of this motel! Friendly staff, very roomy and clean rooms, and the location is perfect! If we ever pass through Valentine in the future, we will definitely stay here again!

Our stay went very well. The room was clean, and met our request to be placed away from the highway. We travel with two puppies and the ability to go from the car into our room and to a grassy area was perfect. We have been staying here off and on for years. It's operatinging well with this management.

We were looking for a single night layover as we traveled the Outlaw Trail across Nebraska. While this MOTEL provided a good value for our needs the room smelled like an elderly care facility. The room smelled horrible which made it challenging to sleep. We specifically requested a NON-Pet room to hopefully avoid odors and filth...no such luck. We have noticed most newer hotels and recent remodels have removed carpet for the decor which enable better cleanliness and sanitation. This is a strong suggestion for this property owner

Very well maintained older motel. Super clean parking area, outdoor space. Room was clean except the gap where the tub met the wall surround in the shower. The corners by the tub and wall could use a toothbrush to get those corners clean. BUT, compared to most places this place exceeded my expectations for the price range. Breakfast was disappointing as was stated in reviews. (I really thought the reviews were harsh about breakfast, but now I see thet were true) we will stay here again even with the minimal breakfast options.

We stayed at the Trade Winds during the Nebraska Star Party, for four nights. The facility and their people were great! The only hitch was with hotels.com. When we booked four nights at this facility, hotels.com booked us in a different room each night! Since the motel was full for the Star Party, the staff was able to move guests who had not yet arrived, which gave us three nights in one room and one night in another. Any guest booking multiple nights, check with the hotel/motel to make sure you are booked in the same room each night.

Looks exactly like the pictures. It’s a quiet, convenient hotel for tubing the river. The microwave/refrigerator combo was very nice. The outside was well kept with a large island of flowers and picnic tables to hang and eat. We had a good time.

We chose this hotel from all options available in Valentine because it was the least expensive, and the reviews were acceptable. The desk clerk at check-in was a cheerful, professional young woman. We checked into our room and realized it was pretty basic, but also pretty clean. However, during our stay we could hear talking, snoring and an unanswered alarm clock from the room next door. The a/c unit cooled well, but was noisy. Breakfast was okay. Bed was comfortable enough, and linens were clean. Good enough place to lay your head, but bring earplugs.
