while the check-in wasn't great, as they had given away my room, as i'd booked a bungalow - i was given a room with a wall for a view! They did give me an upgrade once a room became available, staff were friendly and the resort was beautiful, i can't complain about the food or services

Very cool sculptures and wood decor. Headed outside towards our room and you're hit with pure paradise. Huge green lawn, a beautiful pool and then the ocean! We loved our room but there were
a few things that definitely need looking into...the smell of sewer coming from the bathroom, the flooding in the bathroom when you drain the water out of the bathtub and the smell of mold near the headboard of the bed. Other than that we loved our stay at The Aloha and would definitely go back.

The resort was surprisingly quiet - we were there in September so partly it was due to the season, but it seemed that the hotel has probably seen better days. That being said, it had a great view, the room was spacious, staff were friendly and helpful, and it felt super safe. The pool area is nice and clean, even if the chairs were a bit old.
Overall, as others have said, the hotel could probably use a refresh. However it's good value for money, in an excellent location whether you're walking or have a scooter (close to things but still quiet), and I'd recommend it.

this hotel has great potential to be even better if they fix the simple little things. overall a very beautiful hotel with a good location. beautiful garden and pool area, hotel with a beautiful sandy beach by the sea (most of the time big waves, not suitable for small children). the rooms are comfortable (the air conditioner is a little noisy), the breakfast is sufficient. Hotel is a bit outdated, but repairs are being made on an ongoing basis. The covid era has left its mark. annoying little things, like cleaning cloths on a tree by the pool, a rusty carden cart between the sunbeds, old sunbeds and rusty parabols, garden tools in a pile in the pool area by a tree, some trash in the yard, repair and construction debris in a visible place, etc. things that guests should not see. nothing too bad at all. garbage washed onto the beautiful sandy beach should be collected more often. I saw that it was more the tourists themselves than the hotel staff who were doing it. but if the hotel paid more attention to these little things, it would have the potential to be an even better hotel. why not 4 stars. we stayed with my wife for 2 weeks and we were satisfied. I dare to recommend.

a mini staycation in Lamai. Great location on beach, nice pool & deck area. Parked scooter at front entrance. Rooms are dated, tired but clean. Property would be really nice if renovated. Good breakfast buffet with omelet station. Staff are really friendly. A five minute walk into town with plenty of restaurants & bars. One of the nicest beaches we found on Koh Samui. If your not expecting 5 * it is a great location for price paid with breakfast. We had a sea view room with balcony on ground floor- we enjoyed our stay.

The position of the hotel was great. The draw back was we had no hot water for the first couple of days of our stay. The staff were excellent and the room we had was amazing. 5 steps from the door and we were on the beach.

Truly wretched. Dirty. Inattentive staff, total disregard for guests needs or requests. After getting charged 70% over the agoda price (which costs THEM money because the have to.pay a reseller.... I brought it to their attention, and received a smug look (stupid farang) and a sneering som nom na Translaton: It serves you right. When I pointed out that 2 of the three ceiling ligh5s were dead? I was told the stupendous, and equally disprovable lie that those were emergency lights that come on when there is a power outage. Yeah. And why does this switch, which is running to the fixture, do nothing? Even more fun was swapping out the dead bulb with a live one i pilfered from the lobby. Guess what? It worked. The most fun was when there was an ACTUAL POWER OUTAGE and I demanded to know why those emergency lights hadnt kicked on. They must have been fresh out of lies and laziness, because all I got was a glare from the sourpuss, rude nasty old woman at the desk. Thai hate getting caught in a lie. So they just ignore reality and pretend it never happened. And sneer at the person wjo had the temerity to catch them lying. Honestly, if this place caught fire and burned to the ground it would boost the hospitality industry in Lamai exponentially.

This property looks great from the beach and that is it. The chairs are right along the pool and and sand. The rooms are stall and smell of mold had to be moved 2 times. I finally gave up and asked Expedia to move me to a new hotel for the next couple nights. The Wi-Fi does not workIn any of the rooms. Hello 2018 here. You have to go down to the lobby to use the Wi-Fi. Definitely do not recommend this hotel.

Hotel is ok just have to put up with ants everywhere. The apartments are awful, no electric half the time means no Internet, no ac, and cold showers in the dark. They have empty rooms at hotel but won't use them while the power is being fixed at apartments, doesn't make sense. Can get better for same rate closer to beach with fewer problems.

The location on the beach and close to numerous restaurants and bars made this hotel worth staying in. The room we stayed in was very outdated and in need of a renovation. I believe some of the rooms were better than our ocean view room which was in the main building.Service was very average.

This resort is situated on a stunning piece of property, however the rooms are terrible. Our room was extremely dark and smelled so bad of septic. It was so bad we couldn't even stay in there. We asked to move rooms, they offered me two others that were equally as bad. We purchased scented candles and incense to mask the smell. Only worked for 10 minutes. It's too bad as the location is perfect and the property is stunning with it's beautiful gardens, pool and beach. I would only recommend this place if you never ever want to be in your room!

This was once a great property but unfortunately not any more. It is old and getting older. Most of the staff don't want to be there. The beds and pillows are rock hard. The location is spectacular, right on a beautiful beach. It is sad as this was once a real beauty. Worse wi fi I've had ever.

We had the most amazing honeymoon at the beautiful Aloha resort. You know how when you go on holidays you walk along the beach and secretly wish that you were staying at other places that look more grand ? Well, we sat at the aloha poolside AND beachside lounge chairs watching everyone else say that about where we were staying. The location is just beautiful. The pool is lovely and relaxing with lounge chairs around it then from the lounge chairs you are actually on the beach also! We had local thai people walking along offering to sell us things yet without being pushy or right in our faces as we weren't actually on the sand. The cocktails at the resort were affordable and nice and they had a great massage service which was also equal in price to some of the dirty looking places that you walk past in the main street. The staff were so friendly and would literally do anything that you asked of them. We had stayed here 5 years earlier and were really pleased to see some of the same staff, when we mentioned it they were absolutely overwhelmed that we remembered them. They helped us with any request that we had while we stayed there and as we left we had the house keepers throwing their arms around us saying goodbye and all of the restaurant staff standing at the door waving us off. We felt like absolute celebrities.
I can't wait to return and look forward to our next wonderful holiday on the beautiful island of Koh Samui

Rooms need renovation. We had to complain few times about bad smell coming into our room everitime fan was switched on in a bathroom. Beach and swimming pool amazing which compensated us all bad experience in a room.

Good pool and beach. Rooms need an update. Very unfriendly lady at the touroperator desk in the hotel who did not try to help us at all so we decided to book at the touroperator next to the hotel.

We booked as it was on the beach but close to night market and shops, plus with teenagers we wanted breakfast, the location along lamai beach was excellent, next to life guard and jet skis etc but still quiet I'd say the best area along lamia beach. There were always a few available sun loungers even though some people put towels out early. The massage service at the beach was competively priced and great, they really took pride in setting up a pleasant atmosphere daily.we booked a tour and our return ferry/ bus with their guide and she was very helpful and again the price was competitive to other agents on the street but service much better. Our plan had been to move to chewang or fishermans village but we ended up extending our time at Aloha resort as chewang beach was dirty and the town smelly in comparison and the kids didn't want to leave the beach and pool. Pool area is also very clean and well maintained. We didn't use the beach cafe as there was so much choice close by at competitive prices. It would have been nice to have tea and coffe facilities in the room but the 7/11 is just across the street or you can order room service. It was a plus to receive free daily water in the fridge and fresh beach towels. I think if the central lounge area was used for coffee or had a competitive bar we would have enjoyed lounging there after dinner especially as our teenagers often wanted o go back to their room, if that area was used the hotel would have felt a little more lively.

Everything good until last day when we booked a taxi to airport we were charged 500 bht. We were put in a bus with 6 other people who were on a tour and their fares were included. Our luggage was in an open truck driven by the gardener. Luckily it had stopped raining. I constantly told the porter who drove us we had booked a private taxi to no avail. I think this was a scam to get 500 bht.

Great location hotel backed onto beach not the best hotelbut just what I wanted ,when youre in koh samui you shouldnt be in the hotel as its so beautiful outside but for less than £20 a night it was ideal great little cafe next door which did beautiful food, honeymooners should pay a bit more and go up market for 5 days was ideal

The hotel is situated on the beach which is absolutely great. the sand is nice. the pool is ok with sunbeds. the service is nice. the hotel condition is a bit used. but if you want 100% comfort choose deluxe rooms. they are renovated and spacious. otherwise we were very satisfied with this hotel which is one of the best in the neighbourhood

As a family with two young girls we wanted somewhere with a children's pool and also somewhere close to the beach. The Aloha Resort had these and we had a really lovely stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well looked-after and all-in-all I can say it comes highly recommended.
Would we go back again? Yes, definitely.
