We had a perfect stay and the hosts, John and Jane, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. John gave us a warm welcome, with the offer of a drink, and because we'd asked for a room with a bath, they had upgraded us at no extra cost. The room was lovely - very well furnished and equipped, and very clean and comfortable (lovely sheets and pillows and great mattress!). The location is ideal with a short walk into town and all its amenities. There is a bit of a hill on your return but it's not too steep or long and you can't really walk anywhere in Torquay without a hill! The gradens looked lovely too although we couldn't enjoy them too much in November! Highly recommended! We will return.

Wonderful place, very close to the town with its restaurants etc. in walking distance. Nice parking. A Nice walk about close with a wonderful view of the riviera. Close to Kent’s caverns which the whole family found interesting. Loved John and the rest of the staff. Really want to get back to Haytor.

A really lovely warm welcome to this beautiful hotel which is set in a lovely residential street in the heart of Torquay with its great choice of restaurants. After checking in and having a chat with the owner, which felt like catching up with an old friend, I was helped with my bags to my room which was lovely and clean with everything I needed for my stay. Another warm welcome to breakfast from her husband who was very attentive to everyone seated and arriving. I was offered a fantastic choice of continental and cooked options. I opted for the full English which was delicious and I would recommend.

Our stay was truly amazing. We travel quite a lot and this hotel ranks at the top. The owners (John and Jayne) were so welcoming and friendly. Their attention to detail and their personal touch is second to none. Oh wow! What an experience!!! We were welcomed with open arms and the stay was amazing. The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in and the owners were there for every need. They even remembered our names as they served us an amazing breakfast. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms very clean and spacious, with great parking on site. This Georgian hotel is unique and a definite stay if you wanted to escape the hustle and bustle from town centre.

Hotel was in a good location for the harbour area of Torquay and walkable in 5 mins. Good local pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Ample parking and near publiuc transport for local attractions. The hotel itself and staff were excellent. Would recommend.

This hotel was gorgeous - small and friendly. The owners were superb and their attention to detail was fantastic. They made us feel very welcome. This will be the only hotel we will stay at from now on when we go back to Torquay!
